I'm a long time customer of Wild Ginger since I moved to Cincinnati two years ago and my experience yesterday cemented my adoration for the restaurant. My work group made a reservation that ended up being a third of the size due to some of my colleagues not showing up without notice. The server VERY graciously gave a difficult but necessary message to us about how that negatively impacted them as a small business since they unnecessarily turned down business to accommodate our reservation size.
Although I'm I did stick to my reservation commitment, I know that message had a mindset shift impact on me personally that will always make me make mindful decisions on reservation commitments in the future. The food was delicious, great portion sizes and the server and the cook were so kind despite our lack of consideration!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Hua Z.Cincinnati, OH028Dec 12, 2023
One of my top sushi restaurant in the Cincinnati.
Quality is always the best with very fast service.
They also serve the Thai dishes and Hibachi.
interior may need little update since last update was few years ago.

We were looking for a local place near Xavier University, and Wild Ginger popped up as a suggestion. Good choice!
We were sat in the bar area, which gave us a view of the street, which was entertaining. They do have hibachi and regular tables. The bartender was also our waitress. She was on her third day there, but she did a good job.
We started with green gyoza, which was very good. I had the ginger stir fry with chicken. It was excellent. My wife, a vegan, had the drunken noodles with fried tofu. It was also excellent.
They have a lot of choices, so we will be back to try more.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Bianca T.Madisonville, Cincinnati, OH0142Apr 10, 2024
Food was really good however the wait staff for the hibachi is beyond rude!!!! So pushy and rushes you to do everything. I had THE worst sever with the nastiest attitude!!! Literally a bitch she's lucky im a changed person or we could have took it outside .

We love Wild Ginger! My favorite Fisherman's Hot Pot. You can go high in the spicy number if you ask me. I got a 6 and my husband gets an 8. We've had so many delicious dishes here. The sushi is fresh and not too overly rice-y. It is just right!

When did this place slide into the dumpster? Anyone who says this is the best is high on drugs. When they first opened this was a great restaurant, 5 years later it was still good to great, now it's an absolute dumpster fire. From the moment you enter you're greeted (if you could even call it that) by someone who clearly would rather be on their phone or somewhere else entirely. The next thing you'll notice on the way to your table is the lack of cleanliness. And from the looks of the staff they have plenty of time to lean so they've got plenty of time to clean. But nope, the bathrooms smell, the hibachi table had debris on it and just overall the place looked dirty. Ok let's move past that, maybe the food and service will save their reputation. Nope, the service was lackluster at best, the waitress and order taker not a suggestive seller - and that's fine but make an effort to clear dishes or refill water or something besides taking an order an delivering food. MAKE AN EFFORT. I tip very well having worked in the industry and I don't run you to death, try to be helpful & quick but golly make an effort. The food was pedestrian at best, the sushi was lackluster and fraught with problems. The sauces were thin, watery and bland, The sushi rolls were not what they advertised and the sashimi had seen better days. I ran the kitchen in a sushi place for a summer, I know how things are supposed to taste, I know the texture of fresh fish and this wasn't it. There are so many better options out there, I feel bad because I was the one who suggested this place to our group; doubtful I'll be back unless the place catches fire, then I'll roast a marsh mellow over the flames savoring the tastiest thing to come out of Wild Ginger in years.

I may have found my new Cincinnati Pho spot. I stumbled across Wild Ginger on google and decided to give it a try. I normally sit at the bar but this night there was no bartender. Nevertheless I was seated and my waitress was amazing. She helped me pick the pho but let me know the curry is also really popular. It is HUGE as you can see. I would share it with someone for sure. The ambiance was perfect for my solo date and I love it!
