My dream is to open up my own business, and I love sneakers so this store is like my dream come true. My past two sneakers that I have purchased took me months and months to find. I want to find something fashionable and stylish, but also practical.

The owner does a good job of hand selecting which shoes to display in their store because that's the main reason why I stepped in this store in the first place. They carried about 3 or 4 brands I have never even heard of, in addition to your standard Nikes, Adidas, New Balance, Converse, Saucony, etc. But the styles they carry are very stylish and hip. Purchased a pair of PF flyers for 80 bucks. I liked the look and feel of them, but for 80 bucks, I was hesitant. I bought them anyway and tried them on at home and walked around. Decided to return them after giving them a try and asking people for their advice. I also found the EXACT pair of shoes online for almost half the price...

Returned my shoes without any problems and got a full refund. The good, very nice selection of kicks for both men/women and the display of them on the walls is great. The bad, the prices are ridiculously high. Just go to any store, try on the outfit/shoe you like, and then look for them online, you can almost ALWAYS find a cheaper deal.

Ever walk into a shoe store, hoping to find some great weekend casual footwear in non-boring colors only to be plagued with white walking shoes or Skecher's Shapeups? All I want are viable color options, people! Is that so much to ask for???

West Coast Kix is my kind of an answer. I have been talking about this store for the past 6 months. Every time I walk (maybe not in the straightest of lines) home from bars or shopping, I can't help but pier into the window filled with shoes in ever color of the rainbow. Converse, New Balance, PF Flyers (The Sandlot anyone?).

I received a gift card to West Coast Kix for the holidays and have been dying to use it. A few weeks ago, a friend of mine and I grabbed lunch and trotted down to the store. There were some awesome Red New Balances in the window display that I had not seen before. We both pointed, turned to each, and with a huge grin, walked inside.

Ryan greeted us (yeah we are on a first name basis now). Who would have known it was his first day? I wouldn't have had he not said so - we truly put him to the shoe retrieval test. Oops. I give him made props for admitting that minor detail.

Ben, the owner also came out to help. It seems my friend walked in with ZERO intention of buying anything and soon was trying on more pairs of shoes than me. I had been eyeing New Balances all along, but started off with some navy blue Saucony's. Cute, but a little too low for my taste. Next were the women's New Balances in an off white color. They looked and felt great. Just what I was looking for.

And in true shopper fashion, my friend and I had to check out those red New Balances from the window. They are a unisex shoe and fit better than a glove. My friend ended up getting them since the red was more her style. I got the same ones in black. They were incredibly comfortable.

Oh and the best part, my shoes come with red and black shoe laces. BOOM!!!!

The artwork on the walls is really cool, and fits the style really well. It was done by a local VCU student. Ben, you know Richmond so well. We love when businesses support local _______ (fill in the blank here.)

Like I told Ben, if my landlord needs my rent, its all been spent at West Coast Kix. Awesome store, great vibe, and even friendlier staff. CHECK IT OUT NOW!!!!

West Coast Kix is the kind of store where you can't help but feel energized the moment you step foot inside.

An urban style shoe store with a well-edited selection of shoes and casual clothes, the shop's layout is super conducive to stress-free and easy shopping. Women's shoes line the left wall, men's shoes line the right, and clothes/hats/sunnies/watches are housed in the back half of the shop. The inventory of styles and colors isn't huge, but the variety is excellent for a shop of this size. WCK carries some unique labels (like Quay sunnies out of Australia and Clae shoes) along with more well known brands (such as Lacoste, Saucony, WeSC).

I'm not one for tennies myself, but if I ever get the itch for casual shoes, I'm totally going for the bright pink Reebok at West Coast Kix. I recently purchased a sweet pair of sunnies to add to my oversized collection (you can never have too many sunglasses, right??) and I'm totally in love with them. Although I don't typically buy kicks for myself, WCK is my destination for shoes for the bf. Sometimes we go together, other times I go on my own when looking for gifts. The owner, Ben, is almost always there - he's friendly and super helpful. Customer service is really important to me, and this shop knows how to deliver.

If you're looking for fashionable West Coast inspired gear, then you gotta hit up West Coast Kix.

So I will admit, I am not 23 any more. I would like to be, but am not. That's it. However, my fashion tastes have not changed.

West Coast Kix is just a few blocks from my house, so I pass by it daily and I find myself drawn-in every time. Seriously... these are some of the nicest, least prejudicial folks I've encountered, based on their style. Whomever the really customer-focused owner is, I like this guy. He has a strong vision and a unique idea of what Richmond fashion needs / wants.

Although I can't quite pull-off all the styles they represent... almost like a bunch of Kidrobot, but crazier... I have purchased multiple pairs of shoes there. Great, albeit limited selection. If I need a super deep-v tee shirt with LMFAO-style colors, that's where I'll go... or just to get (yet) another pair of Onitsuka Tigers.

      Love this store!

Its a nice hidden store in Carytown that can be easily missed if you are not paying attention. They have a very cool and eclectic array of shoes, t-shirts, hats and pants. I especially love their selection of old school shoes. The staff that works there are very engaging and truly enjoy talking to customers and working there!

Last time in I found a great t-shirt for me and very cool vintage sweatshirt for my wife. Not a cheap place but a place to find good quality stuff.

I have a hard time buying sneakers because I have big feet and one of them is half a size bigger than the other. I stopped into West Coast Kix recently and had one of the better retail experiences I've had in a while -- especially when it comes to footwear.

Rather than just helping me find a size, these guys helped me find the right pair. They have cool stuff including vintage/retro styles that I didn't come for but had to buy a pair of. I also left with a Lacoste shirt and two t-shirts that are super comfortable.

Overall a great spot with more than just footwear. I'll be back.

Nice selection. I went on a rainy day but the staff were very vibrant and friendly. I went with a friend that goes a lot, so they were busy chatting it up while i looked around. I appreciate the sales person bringing 2 different sizes just in case the first didnt fit. They also informed of upcoming stock coming in..Thanks!
