As loyal customer wBMWs since 2004, I trusted the owner & recommended to others!
This review is about incompetence, & misdiagnosis on 2010 Benz E350.
June 1, 2023, I called for appointment for suspension noise like metal rattling. I accepted to drop-off on Monday, June 12, 2023. There were no loaners.
Usually, I'd have rec'd a call w diagnosis & quote next day. On Wednesday (day 3) @4p., I called. She said she thought somebody may have test drove it, but couldn't hear any sound of metal rattling. I asked if someone could put it on a lift to visually inspect suspension. She said all their lifts were full & when they get a chance they would take a look & call me.
Thursday (day 4), She called about 3 p.m. She said it's the lower control arms that need replaced at $875. They could order parts yet that afternoon & possibly have it finished before Friday at 5. I asked for an update call on Friday & got nothing.
I had not planned that they would have my vehicle more than a week!
On Monday (day 7), as I had ridden my bicycle more than total 50 miles & had a busy week ahead, I called at 2 p. Grumpy man answered saying when their workorder was completed they would call me & hung up.
Tuesday, (day 8), She left msg car was done! I navigated my bicycle to Fritz Rd. I paid & squeezed bike in trunk. As I begin to drive away, I hear same metal clunking sound & circled back. She told mechanic. He rode w me around the circle driveway.
He said, "oh, it's the drive axle or u-joint!" I said, "I paid $875 for a complete misdiagnosis that took over a week!" He got out & I drove away. They had driven my car 10 miles & could not hear the clunking metal sounds! Yet, after the replacement of unnecessary parts & labor, within 500ft, he could hear the noise!
Sadly, I will not return to Werner's Garage.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 29, 2021
It was time to get my VW bug repaired. I was having trouble with the power steering and the breaks were spongy. I took it in to get the oil changed and left it to have the work done. Every thing was fixed and I was on the road again after three days. Before I picked her up they gave her a needed wash. Communication and service was satisfactory. A good use of my stimulus money.

Totally screwed up my 1970 911T Porsche. Afrer$3000 of work could hardly get he car home. Timing was 90 degrees off...... anyway do not take a car of any value here. The old man seems to be nice...but the actual me hanic wanted to argue about the issue. He said why not bring back..the ar should never have been allowed to knave the premises. I said because I do not want you touching this car again. Took to my previous mechanic in another state. He said do not even take your lawn mower to this place. Expensive mistake going here. Do not repeat my error.

This was a Saturday morning emergency. We called up Werner even though he was closed today. He came recommended by the local Volkswagen dealership. He turned out to be the only guy available to help us in all of Indiana. He graciously went out of his way on the weekend to help us. He trouble shot our engine issue and had us back on the road in 20 minutes. Out of any mechanic experience I've ever had I can not recommend Werner enough! Excellent service!!

After $7000 in repairs, that is not a miss-print, my suspension system still leaks. I would not let these guys put hinges on an out house door.
I have an S55 AMG, with the dreaded, hydraulic suspension. I had a pressure block replaced and system serviced. I also had the AC addressed, which doesn't get very cold, by the way. So, the hydraulics cost me $5500. I picked up the car got 1 mile away, and the check engine light came on. I turned around and dropped it back off. Left the car, the next day they called and said it was just a hose that wasn't reconnected. "We had to unhook a lot of stuff to do the job, we just forgot to hook up the reclaim hose" like I was being unreasonable. Never again, never again.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - DJ P.Washington, DC04Jan 2, 2018
I went in for a battery issue, and came out with close to a $500 bill. The only issue was a bad/old battery, which should have cost $250 MAX... more like $175. I only commented about other things going on in the car as they may relate to electrical or battery issues, and they took that to mean that they should do other work on the car and charge me for it. AND, they messed up my sunroof to boot - it was working fine, and now it won't open and close.
Really should have some way to monitor what is really going on during these repairs. This is unfortunate, and I'm sorry to say, but money over morals seems to be a recurring theme given some of the other reviews.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jaycob M.Fort Wayne, IN3344Jul 2, 2019
Perfect example of a garage that loves to gouge their customers.. have taken two vehicles on separate occasions to Werner's garage, spent $2,900$ in service and neither vehicle's issues were resolved. 1,700$ for an alternator and picked up the car with a bad alternator and battery. Second car was a caliper on an Audi that was throwing a "Brake" light, quote me at 1,100$ to fix and I agreed to the service they do the work and call me to tell me it's another $1,000 to make the light go off and if you do one you have to do the other.. that would have been nice to know when I was originally quoted for the job. STAY FAR AWAY YOU ARE BETTER OFF GOING TO THE DEALER.

AVOID!!! BAIT AND SWITCH OPERATION!!!
This is by far one of the very worst businesses I have come across. After I was extremely specific with my year, make, model, and which parts I wanted replaced, I was told my service would cost $225. I confirmed this price on the phone twice before bringing my car in.
Only AFTER I drove my car a long way and dropped it off to Werner's Garage which I THOUGHT was a reputable business, I received a phone call saying that the price would be going up $100 for no reason. The representative Chris was extremely rude and "did not care what I was told we are not doing it for that so come get your car."
The next day I decided to talk to Werner himself. Chris answered the phone. I asked to talk to Werner. Chris said "Werner does not want to talk to you, come get your car.". I said I wanted to talk to a manager and Chris hung up on me! I called back again and luckily got another representative who transferred me to Warner. Warner did not know Chris was acting like this! I thought at first Warner would be a honest and reputable man and take care of his customer. Long story short, he HUNG UP ON ME! I wanted to give Werner the opportunity to honor his word of what I had confirmed on the phone multiple times. He said it does not matter what I was told twice. Since it was incorrect he was not going to honor the word of what his employees told me.
Think twice before you go to this business. There are reputable businesses out there, and then there is Werner's who just wants you to get your car in so they can raise the price on you and treat you like dirt.
Check out two of Werner's grandsons writing their very first review on Yelp to try to raise the review score on their family business...Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jodi G.Sahuarita, AZ57125Oct 24, 2016
After 700 to change the transmission sensor, had to have my car towed back to Werner's. They were unable to determine what was wrong with it, even after I had to pay for tow and a diagnostic. European garage? I think not.

I usually do my own work or had my AAA+ mechanic who is now four hours away, work on my car. I went in to change the rear struts on my VW Passat Komfortwagen. I brought in my own, NEW, struts. The old new ones that I had installed would not bear the load because that set was for the sedan. I also asked for them to change my oil. It was time for servicing anyway. They found a threading issue with the drain plug. Either a new oil pan (160.00) or a weld. Mind you, I was waiting at the shop while they worked on my car. They know their jobs. Werner seems nice enough. But, they're greedy. The bill went from what should have been 350.00, tops to 595.00. The kicker... they charged two automotive labor hour charges. 1.0 for the struts and 2.7 for the repair of the pan. WTF. All repairs were done in approximately 2.0 hours. It should have been one or the other. Not both. Needless to say, they charged for a new oil pain. This was work that included an oil change and labor, plus a weld. I had them remove the preorder of the oil pan. (New on amazon with its other pieces is 80.00.) But it still cost 440.00 in the end. I used to own a shop. I know what the book says. And it's designed for chain garages and dealerships. There's a reason his property looks like an automotive abandonment yard. Overcharging customers. It's a shame. I would have liked to have done business with them due to their skill set. I will work on my own car. Or drive four hours for any serious repairs.
