This is a perfectly lovely jewelry store. It is definitely what I would term a boutique seeing as they only offer adorable little pieces of jewelry artfully arranged in a brightly lit, well-decorated store. I can't recall exactly what it looked like but I remember bright airiness, calm, and quirky pop music.
Almost all of the jewelry from the website is in the store so I won't bother detailing it, though I do recommend visiting in person instead of buying online as the size is radically different from what you think it will be. A lot of their items are very tiny and delicate. Essentially, this is a store for girly-girls. There are some large cocktail rings but no mixed metals or spikes.
Prices are generally what you'd imagine for a store like this. Small items average around $40-$70 and anything more substantial can boost you up to $100-$250. I won't say I think all of it is worth it because while these are gemstones, most people will assume they are glass or just stones. I would work on finding something you really love because while the designs are cute, a lot of them are not very unique and the only person who will know the difference in quality is you.
So why four stars when this reads like a fairly 3 star review? Service. The sales girl who was here was absolutely wonderful. She let me hover, circling around the store like an indecisive vulture and then talked me through my further indecisiveness when I had narrowed it down to two choices without pressuring me either way...or to pick the more expensive item. She managed to not be rude, obnoxious, indifferent, or cloying, like she was auditioning to be my very best BFF.
This is definitely somewhere I would return to if I were looking for something special or had another Groupon or wanted to purchase a gift. Otherwise, I think if you're just browsing for the heck of it, you probably might want to head somewhere less expensive or more striking in their designs.
Additional: Ring the doorbell to be buzzed in. Additional tax on top of the price on the label.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - JP B.Brooklyn, NY78429Jan 5, 2011
I'm not that good at the gift thing: I'm close to useless at choosing gifts for others, and really don't care about whether or not anyone buys me a gift. I appreciate the gesture, but usually don't care about the gift itself, unless it's something good to eat. But I live in a world where I'm expected to buy gifts. I can half-ass it with family and friends, but when it comes to my wife and my mother I need to do better. So I need help. Enter Wendy Mink Jewelry.
Most of the year this shop would be invisible to me. A little boutique with a mix of new and vintage jewelry of the semi-precious costume variety, leaning in an artsy, kind of bohemian direction? Not the kind of place that registers on my radar. Until the time comes to buy a gift for my wife or mother, that is. Then I need these things. I also need someone to hold my hand and help me choose what to buy, because I'm useless in a place like this. The charming women who staff this place (including Wendy herself) are more than happy to oblige.
The jewelry here ranges from trinkets to vintage art pieces. The selection is interesting - it all seems like pretty cool stuff. My wife and mother were pleased, and I didn't spend more than I'd intended. Hard to do any better than that.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sarit W.New York, NY26527Jan 24, 2011
I like jewelry and I like it even better when it's unique and the lady next to me on the subway isn't wearing the same H+M necklace as me. I also doubly like it when it's affordable. Enter Wendy Mink Jewelry.
Gotta love Wendy's creativity. She definitely has her signature in everything she creates but there's so much to choose from. Whether you want chunky, delicate, fancy, low-key, beaded, metal-worked, fabric styled jewelry, vintage...
The store has so much to look through and the staff is super helpful. If you can't make it downtown check out her online boutique (and sign up for the members section!). Also check out the Wendy Mink blog for tons of great posts and online auctions and giveaways. Woo!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jen L.Sacramento, CA366715Jan 18, 2009First to Review
Wendy Mink Jewelry are gorgeous and beautiful. This is THE perfect place to find gifts for yourself and others if you are looking for earrings, necklaces, and earrings that are unique and one-of-a-kind. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is seeking high-quality artisan pieces. This is the perfect boutique for someone who does not like to shop for their jewelry in a department store.
Jewelry ranges from $40 - $300. Pricey, High-quality items, but at least you know her pieces were not crafted by children in China at $1/hour.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Alex S.New York, NY121Nov 18, 2016

I was there a couple of weeks ago while in NY and found a uniquely crafted necklace made of lapis and gold filled chain links with teardrop pendants. I wanted it to be slightly longer, so they held onto it, charged me just $5 and sized it for me, then mailed it to me. Orchard is a cute little street that isn't an obvious shopping choice in NYC, but I enjoyed it because it's so cute (had a great lunch at a thai place down the street). Cute little boutique not to be missed if you're in the neighborhood. It's a gem (excuse the pun).

Very small, very cute store. The pieces are pretty and unique, while still being wearable for a day to day basis. I noticed a lot of gold jewelry and wire work while I was there, which I love. Great jewelry at reasonable prices for the quality you receive.

I heard about their sample sale in Time Out this week and decided to check it out. I had purchased a few pieces as various boutiques but had never visited their store. So many cute pieces and the sale was amazing. The sales associate went out of her way to look for a piece I had seen online. She was very helpful and friendly. I look forward to stopping back in again soon.

This place is awesome! A great selection of jewelry. It's more unique than you would think if you look closely. I tried on some awesome Victorian pieces. I will definitely be coming back!
