Our 2nd visit to northern Michigan and stay at The Wayfarer. Iris and Mike are superb hosts , the cabins are clean and well equipped. Very grateful that good dogs are allowed and they have a charging station for our Rav 4.
Location is excellent - we do a lot of hiking and there are plenty in the area. Frankfort is charming and has great coffee shops!

Iris was great host, always there to answer our questions, and get us bags of ice! Wayfarer has unique wood cabins on a large parcel of land reminded me of old New England resorts. Just like camping - except with hot showers, internet, no bugs and a roof over your head! Great place for couples. Bring your bicycles or rent them nearby, since all the trails and roads around Wayfarer get you quick access to trails, low traffic roads and small towns. Some flat rides and some steep hills, so there is something for all levels of bikers. Bring your cooler since some units do not have fridge.
Super price for multiple day stay, good location just out of town in safe residential area, walk to Lake Michigan, walk to breakfast or easy drive to the dunes and inland rivers for kayaking.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Douglas W.Greenville, SC156Aug 9, 2013
This place is just what a up north get away is all about. The host Mike and Iris are very great people. They are very helpful at anything you need to know about around town be it great places to eat or even what places to visit like sleeping bear dunes. They even have a awesome beach access on lake Michigan that is only walking distance from the cabins. The cabins here are very clean, nice and perfect for a get away up here to enjoy this beautiful area. You can not beat the price here, its a great deal. I will be for sure returning here for another summer get away when i can,

I've been staying here for my favorite week of the year for the last 10+ years. It is a welcome change from the city. We are golfers and this wonderful 10 acres is located in one of the best fishing areas in northern Michigan. The cabins are clean and the Hosts are like family. We look forward to the annual updates.

First of all, Mike and Iris are wonderfully gracious hosts. We rented a small cabin that was equipped with everything one would need for a week stay.My bed was cozy and I slept very soundly . I loved taking the short walk across the back field to the municipal stairs to Lake Michigan to watch the sunset. Also, the short bicycle ride down M-22 to the Betsie Valley Trail was a fun and eventful activity. I would highly recommend staying at the Wayfarer Lodging . Perfect natural setting, safe, quiet and cozy.

We have stayed at the Wayfarer many times over the past 6 years. Mike and Iris are truly delightful. The location is peaceful and convenient. The cabins are quaint and comfortable. It is a great place for families but also well suited for couples or singles.
