I had some time to kill, so dropped by to get a meal and work from a table for an hour or so. Burger was good, not great. Milkshake was alright. Probably a few bucks overpriced, but if you're looking for cheap burgers near Seattle it's Dicks or bust and wayback does take a lot more care with their burgers. I was a little surprised about the awards and newspaper clippings around the store calling it one of the best burger spots in Bellevue. Ummmm, I'd not go that far. But the staff was nice, and food was okay.

This is how burgers should be made.
      Order: Big Easy Burger

Good balance of everything that you want on a burger. Everything fresh and made to order. They also offer great shakes and sides which I didn't try yet. Highly recommend Wayback Burgers

A bit puzzled where the "wayback" comes from. Thin industrial beef patties overcooked in vegetable oil does not scream "classic burger" to me. However!! This is one of the few places offering real malt milk shakes! Just very small sizes compared to traditional malted shakes with ample leftover.

Their chicken sandwiches are actually better than the burgers. They should rebrand as a chicken sandwich joint.

Over priced tiny burger "the big easy" extremely expensive for what you get and was shocked since they do not post prices so its a guessing game when you pay.
18.00 dollars for this again 4 in burger and drink! Customer service also really sucks -- Lloyd

Oh Boy...avoid this place don't waste your time.

We were the ONLY customers, that should have been our first sign. Don't let their menu board fool you, yes it looks nice..but run out the door. Most of the reviews here are VERY TRUE...YUCK!

First the gal taking our order was very rude, she was put out she had to take our order, and was very hard to understand.

My husband's burger was UNDERCOOKED, and we promptly took the $7.00 milkshake and threw it in the GARBAGE, it tasted like chalk. You pay for all toppings, including Mayo, doesn't a burger come with Mayo? 1 chicken burger, 2 burgers, coke and milkshake was $40 and we threw more than half of it in the GARBAGE, then went to eat a real burger elsewhere.

Don't walk in...you will thank me.

UPDATE: seems the only way I can respond to the owner. NEVER SAID I had a problem taking out, there were no customer within miles, I wouldn't have sat in there anyway.

Your video can't prove if our burgers were undercooked or not...THEY WERE PINK. What about the milkshake..no response.

No worries we won't return...food and service isn't worth it!

I'll start out saying that their food is really good. I had a breaded chicken sandwich with Swiss cheese and I really enjoyed it. I came here primarily because I got an email about free fries when ordering a sandwich. Like I said, it was good, but it was not worth it at all.
I live in Lynnwood and it literally took me almost three hours total to get to the restaurant and back, including the short time I was in the restaurant. The only way to get to Bellevue from my home is via 405 and at around 1230 it wasn't so bad but coming home was a nightmare with the traffic and all and I didn't get home till almost 3.
Getting to the restaurant itself wasn't pleasant either because the parking lot is an absolute nightmare. There's massive construction going in and people were driving like maniacs so what should have been a quick trip-wasn't.
Their prices are high, like someone pointed out it was over $3 for a soft drink and lately I've noticed that when I opt for water in a restaurant, it's a lot cheaper. Yesterday I decided to splurge, but I won't be doing that again anytime soon.
Unfortunately there aren't any other locations around, but I think this is it for me unless I am in the area -which I doubt-I hate the Eastside. Either way, it wasn't worth it and it took up way too much of my day.

The customer service is always the best. The staff is a good bunch that's always super nice. I recommend the cheesy burger . It is the best burger I've ever had and my new place I will always go to now if I want a burger. It's like a grilled cheese Sammy with juicy beef patties inbetween . Will come to dine again and again. Customer 4 life. Thanks! Cheesy BurgerCheesy Burger

Since we heard Wayback had been named one of "Best of Bellevue 2016," and I'm always craving a burger, this was an easy decision for a quick weekend lunch stop.

For those who have never been before, there are various types of burgers on the menu which already include predetermined toppings / condiments. Then, you can customize your burger by choosing complementary add-ons listed on the menu. I personally figured this out after a minute or two, but also didn't feel that the menu was super clear. The cashier must have assumed that we were aware of the ordering process, but one person in our group was not. He ordered the chicken burger as-is, not knowing that he could have added more veggies and sauce. It would have been nice if the cashier took a moment to double-check that he just wanted to order the burger in it's original state.

I ordered the Turkey Burger (~$8) with lettuce, tomato, onion and chipotle mayo. I enjoyed it although the turkey patty could have used more seasoning. The veggies tasted fresh and the chipotle mayo was delicious. It really livened up the burger by adding some spice and zing. One of us ordered a side of fries (a la carte) which were nicely salted and crispy. They really pile on the fries, which was a reasonable portion for two. Compared to other restaurants, I'd consider the burgers here relatively small for the price. Without fries, mine looked so lonely on the plate. The burger just filled me up, but that likely won't be the case for those with a larger appetite.

I could see myself making my "Wayback" again, next time for an actual hamburger!

Not a bad burger, but not my first choice.

In my most recent visit to Wayback Burgers, I was of course, craving a Double Cheese Burger and since I'm on a keto cleanse, I wanted to customize my burger, to avoid carbs. All I had on the burger was lettuce, pickles, American cheese and a side of ranch. My total with tax came out to be over nine bucks.

Normally, I don't mind paying more money for good food, but the size of the patties weren't worth the money. Although it was a tasty burger, and loved that the patties were house-made, I just wish the size had been more filling, given the price mark.
