I've been looking near and far for a waffle sandwich done right since having one from a food truck in DC. After numerous disappointing attempts to find one in Denver, I discovered this wonderful food truck, and my life is now complete! You will get a savory or sweet waffle, that in and of itself is delicious, but made even better by the sandwich components -- fresh ingredients and made to order. We loved out black bean burgers. Though vegan, the thyme aioli and delicious patties were filling and flavorful even for us meat eaters. I will be going back many many times to try everything!
As a note, follow them on Facebook to find out where they are on any given day. My personal favorite is outside River North tap room so you can eat and enjoy samplers of good beer.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Dec 7, 2012
Food truck love!
Last Friday Carly B and I went to the Holiday Handmade Craft Fair held at the Sherman Events Center. There were a few places that sold sweet treats inside (Sugar Bakeshop and Humble Pie), but I needed real food before I ate sugar and had a great big ole sugar rush. On our way out, there were a few food trucks sitting outside. Carly told me that she'd gone to the waffle food truck before, so I decided to try it out this evening. And I noticed that they had a fried chicken and waffle sandwich, the Dirty Bird, so obviously this had to be my choice.
I placed my order and waited (and waited, somewhat impatiently I might add due to the rising hunger), and my order was ready in maybe 15 minutes or a little less. It's placed on a waffle, with smaller fried chicken pieces and topped with your choice of a spicy maple syrup or regular. I opted for the regular maple syrup and the waffle sandwich was really delicious, as well as my rosemary lemonade. I'm sure I will try this place again. I might even FB stalk them to see where they will be next. Yum.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Dec 17, 2012
I would have to agree with pretty much everything Wanda said. I had occasion to try a waffle and chicken sandwich here during the Denver Beer Festivus. I opted for the spicy version of the Dirty Bird (fried chicken on waffles with chili-maple). Although I have only had chicken and waffles a few times in recent years, this would have to be the best one (and it was not just the beer talking . . . I think). The chicken was tender and moist and hot. The waffles were perfectly crisp, while still moist on the inside. The chili maple was a flavor party on my tongue. The man and woman running this tiny food trailer were very friendly and justifiably proud of the food which they were producing.

There's only one thing you need to know and that's the fact that Wafflegänger makes chicken and waffles in a sandwich!
It's one delicious piece of fried chicken sandwiches between two crispy Belgian waffles wrapped in paper and love. And I guess they throw a little chili maple syrup on there just to put you right over the edge.
If you ever see this little cart you'd be doing yourself a favor to try them out, especially if you order the Dirty Bird which is the aforementioned sandwich.Helpful 10Thanks 0Love this 11Oh no 0 - Ron K.Denver, CO2291Apr 3, 2013
I like to track this food truck on Facebook because they seem to typically go to breweries which goes hand-in-hand with food trucks. The staff is so nice and down to earth and you can really tell that they enjoy what they're doing. The food is made to order and is absolutely incredible. The waffles are flavorful, crunchy and I just love the food they serve.
You can typically find these guys parked outside breweries around Denver... Or maybe it's just me who hits up so many breweries around town :)Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Carly B.Asheville, NC398586105Feb 17, 2013
When Waffleganger is parked in front of Nooch Vegan Market, they become a vegan waffle food truck! Pretty neat, right?
I had just finished a class at Qi and went to make my weekend Nooch stop and decided then was as good of time as any to pick up lunch for the husband and I to share.
They have a column for sweet and a column for savory on their menu board and sweet waffles run for $6 and savory for $8. I'm not sure if pricing is any different when they're a non-vegan waffle truck.
I went for the Scram with scrambled tofu, flax seeds, roasted root veggies, kale, and sunflower seed and aioli incorporated in there somewhere (maybe sunflower seeds in the aioli or aioli made with sunflower seed oil)? The waffles themselves are pretty great. Crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside, oh so slightly sweet, yet somehow wholesome. And not so thick and bready that they seem like too much. Just the right thickness. The scramble itself could have done well with something tomato based to give it a little sweetness and acidity but that's just me.
For dessert we had the Nana which had bananas, raw chocolate, coconut, granola, and spice. It was the perfect dessert ending as it was not too sweet.
Two sandwiches made for perfect sharing for two. They cut them down the middle, so I was able to easily divy them up on the two plates they were on. The little cart does get pretty busy (even outside of Nooch on a Saturday morning) and everything is made fresh to order so be prepared for a small (worth it) wait.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0Business owner information

Added tomato to the sammy, Carly B! It makes it pop. Thanks for the suggestion!

Was excited to try Waffleganger while they were parked outside Our Mutual Friend on a Friday night. I love waffles. I love food trucks (and I love craft beer). it should have been a wonderful combination. Unfortunately, it was not.
After getting beer and finding a table I went outside to order waffles. I got the "special" which was an egg and cheese sandwich with green chili. I also ordered a PBJ (peanut butter and pear jam) for my SO. When i went outside, there was one person in front of me, who also ordered two waffles.
I headed back in side to enjoy my beer and eagerly await the waffles. And await. And await. I finished the beer. I had another beer. I got about halfway through that beer and saw the girl from the truck come through the door with a tray carrying two waffle sandwiches. Hooray! It had been 25 minutes, which was way longer than i usually expect food from a truck to take, but it was hear and I was excited! And then she walked passed me and gave the food to someone else.
So I waited. And waited. At 35 minutes I saw her head toward the door again. At this point I'm starving and desperate for a waffle. I had planned on having a waffle sandwich in my stomach before starting the second beer, so I was in need of some food. And again, she walks past me and takes the food to someone else.
At 40 minutes the person who was in line in front of me went outside and complained. A few minutes later they brought her food. I'm getting excited again, because I think my order must be next. But it wasn't. Yet another order through the doors that went to someone else.
At an hour I went outside to find out what had happened to my waffles. They promised me mine would be next, and I saw them skip my ticket ahead of three others. So I feel bad for the people who had to wait even longer than I did. But by my count, they were managing about five orders an hour, so it would have been another 35-40 minutes.
The waffles finally came. After an hour wait, this best be the best waffle sandwiches ever. Unfortunately they were not. The PBJ was just that. Two waffles with a thin layer of peanut butter and a thin layer of jam (which took an hour? seriously?). It wasn't bad, but there was nothing to elevate the dish, and nothing that made it worth the price or the (exceptionally long) wait.
Then there was my sandwich. Egg and cheese with green chili on a waffle. Should have been awesome. But it was not. Let's start with the waffle. The only reason this food should have taken anywhere near as long as it did was if the whole sandwich were made to order (and even then), which means I would expect a hot (or at least warm) waffle. Mine was not. It had probably been sitting in a stack of pre-made waffles. If you're business is making waffles, and i give you an hour to make waffles, you need to give me a good waffle.
But it gets worse. The sandwich allegedly had Dubliner cheese. Dubliner is a sharp, flavorful cheese, so you should be able to taste it on a sandwich. I could not. So either they lied about what kind of cheese it was, or skimped and put so little on the sandwich that you couldn't taste it.
Then there was the green chili. The heat was good, slightly spicy but not overwhelming. Unfortunately, it had not other flavor. it didn't taste like green chili. It just tasted like heat.
I don't know what the problem was at OMF. The truck didn't seem to be overwhelmed. I could see into the truck from the window, and the people "working" were barely moving. Maybe the way they work is flawed (maybe try doing some prep before you go out), maybe they just didn't care about actually serving food.
Had the sandwiches come in a reasonable time (like, even 25 minutes), I would have been underwhelmed and probably thought they were overpriced. But after waiting an hour, I feel ripped-off and manipulated.
I really like OMF. It's one of my favorite breweries. But in the future, I'll probably seek out someplace else on Friday nights where I can get decent food from people that actually care about their customers.
Maybe Waffleganager should start parking outside Brewery Rickoli. They share the same bad attitude toward their customers and commitment to inferior, underwhelming product. That way i could ensure I'd never encounter Waffleganager again.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Hunter A.Lodo, Denver, CO015Sep 13, 2012First to Review
By far the best food truck I've eaten from in Denver. Tried the Chicken & Waffles and have been trying to track them down again ever since. I ended up going back for seconds and thirds.

I ordered one. That had Bananas and Nutella. You have to wait for it to be cooked. And the place usually has a line. But good things come to those who wait. Fresh bananas. And Never having Nutella before I was skeptical. But this was delicious. And Priced reasonably.
