Waffle House

Waffle House has become an iconic presence on the culinary landscape here in the southeastern United States. It seems that their familiar logo beckons in all of its bright yellow neon glory road-weary travelers, partying college kids, parents with kids in tow, hungry workers seeking a casual and quick sit-down meal and just about everyone else from every walk of life.

Since Waffle House opened its first location back on September 5, 1955 in Avondale Estates, Georgia, it quickly established itself by offering a consistent selection of food and by being open twenty-four hours a day.

For me, the biggest appeal of Waffle House has always been their hash browns, which you can get basic or topped with a variety of toppings such as chili, white sausage gravy, cheese, ham, onions and so many more items and you can combine these toppings in a multitude of ways.

For my main course, I have usually gone with their patty melts or one of their egg breakfast options. I myself can see the strangeness that I have never had a waffle in a business where waffle is in their very name, but I prefer a more savory breakfast than a sweet one.

This particular Waffle House location was convenient to my hotel. It was a good stop for a late night feast and the service was good.

If you are in the southeast United States, odds are you have probably passed a Waffle House location. It seems that they are on almost every major highway exit ramp and strategically placed throughout most cities and towns in the southeast. If you see one, give them a try.

Fast hot and cheap. I had coffee, waffle (of course) and country ham. The service was good. The coffee was quite good. The waffle was acceptable. The ham a wee bit overdone and as all things Mississippi, way too salty. But all-in-all, a satisfying breakfast for $10.50.

Great experience. The store is clean and in good order. Staff is friendly with good conversation. Food is original Waffle House fare. I had a western omlet no cheese and it was great. The best hash browns and 1/2 a waffle. Would definitely return.

Based on the previous reviews, on our visit Wednesday night, about 8pm, with only 1 other customer and 2 staff, this WH forgot friendliness, cleanliness, and good food. How do you mess up WH food?

The first and only WH I've visited (yes, really) and the folks here are great. I sat at the counter and enjoyed about 3 days worth of calories in one sitting. Frickin delicious and great service. Food arrived hot and fresh. Fairly priced and the staff is friendly. Kept refilling my coffee and made for a very enjoyable experience.

When we got there it took a while for us to get our order taken, but we could see they were short-staffed so that was alright. Service was still great and staff was friendly, as is usual for a Waffle House. I'm giving 5 stars because it was nice to see the staff have such good teamwork while being understaffed!

Love this Waffle House. For a boring experience come during daylight hours. For a fun and exciting experience come after dark. You will never be disappointed. Tonight's adventure involved someone getting arrested in the parking lot. This is why we come here

Food was great! I took my date there for breakfast. I ordered 2 Bacon, Egg and Cheese sandwiches, but the waitress only brought 1. That's fine, she was in training and I wasn't really that hungry anyways. Staff was nice, none of them shot me. Will definitely return!!!

If you don't like Waffle House then Fuck You!! Kinda like chewing Big Red if you don't like Big Red then Fuck You!
