A friend of mine recommended this place since she knows I love Mexican food (especially chicharrones). It is not just a bakery, people!! And they make their own tortillas!! That which are quite tasty.
I ordered a chicharron quesadilla con calabaza y queso. In other words, a quesadilla with fried pork skins, squash, and cheese. I wanted squash flowers but they put the squash instead. I think because the flowers aren't in season? I couldn't ask them since I got home and only realized this when I started to eat. The meat that comes with it is pork which was a little over cooked but palatable. They could have added more cheese but I will just ask for that next time. A nice touch was the grilled jalapeño! It was muy bueno!! Never had one before, so glad they added it. The red sauce provided was SO GOOD. Not really as spicy as I would have expected.. but such a great flavor.
The price was just under $17 which seems a little steep but the plate weighed like 2lbs. I would pay that again in a heartbeat.
I wanted to try their churros (6 for $5) but they did not have any. They told me to come for those on the weekend. Looks like I will be going back there this weekend!!
All in all, it was a good dish and the staff was friendly. I will be visiting again to try other things.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 28, 2016
Wonderful tres leches cake and on very short notice! I ordered a tres leches cake for 20 people at 6pm on Friday night and they had it ready for me the next day at 4pm. The cake was huge and exactly what we wanted. The other pastries looked great and it smelled delicious inside.
I would definitely use them again.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jaclyn N.Middletown, CT4612251023Jul 21, 2017
This is a very small Mexican bakery right off of 91. Parking can be a little tricky since the lot only has 3 spots but I'm pretty sure parking on the street would also be acceptable.
The overall look of the bakery may not be impressive but the beautiful Mexican pastries were all we could see! Everything looked amazing and we quickly started pointing to things to tell the baker what we'd like to take home with us. We walked out with a bag full of (7) pastries and two ice-pops for $11. I was very impressed with the prices for sure!
We brought the pastries to a family gathering and cut them into samples so that everyone could try them. One thing I noticed about Mexican pastries is that there is less of that sugary sweetness that you get in American pastries. I tried a bit of everything and I didn't feel like I was going to go into a "sugar shock" but it definitely satisfied my sweet tooth!
The pastries were all fresh and delicious and the baker was very sweet (pun intended)! This bakery is definitely worth a try!Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Jacqueline V.San Francisco, CA01Dec 19, 2020
My family has been going to this business since they first opened and we were very happy with the food and their service at first. Lately however, their customer service has fallen behind. They are rude to customers who have been there from the start. We understand times are difficult right now, but don't take it out on those who are supporting your small business. Small questions shouldn't be met with attitude, especially from the owner.

Love it! I stop sometimes when I'm able to when in the area working. I don't know any Spanish so there's a language barrier for sure, but the employees are super friendly and they make great baked treats! Not too sweet. If I lived closer I'd try ordering a cake sometime, they look awesome. Nice little business.

In my opinion, Its the best mexican bakery ever. I ordered a big princess cake for my baby's 1st bday and it was just what I wanted. My family and friends were very impressed. The cakes are beyong amazing, very moist and rich in flavor. I feel welcome every time I go and they have very good customer service. I definitely recommend coming here. You will not be disappointed.

Most excellent Mexican food you can find in CT! The real thing! I'm hoping they don't ever americanize their food!

Bakeries seem to be a thing of the past now that every grocery store has a bakery section that bakes frozen items...not the same. So when I heard about Mana bakery I made the 30 minute drive for the first time and it was worth the trip. They specialize in traditional Mexican pastries and breads. Everything is made right there on the premises and fresh stuff comes out of the oven all day I got there at 2:00 pm and a fresh batch of flaky deliciousness just came out of the oven. I got a full bag of goodies for $10 the prices are amazingly low. Most of the pastries cost about $1.00 each which gave me the opportunity to try things I might not have. I'm not Mexican but I love ethnic food of all kinds and this bakery was worth the trip.

Passed by and almost thought the building was closed. They need to work on the signage. Out of curiosity I decided to check it out. WOW!!! Mexican bakery with authentic mexican sweet breads. They make these simple round sugared donut that melts in your mouth. I also tried the apple turnover and it was still warm. Pure heaven. The interior was very clean, the staff very friendly, and you can't beat the prices.
