Cannot believe cole's service. I was sending money and he couldn't wait. Wow. Never coming again. I had to ask another bartender for his name

Here 30 min after they are supposed to be open, doors are locked and lights are off. I guess they closed down for business.

This place is the shit. Don't listen to those other reviews. Go in the early pm talk to a bartender and have a good conversation. Got the street burger and babe got the voodoo burger. And. In. All honestly this place was better than the other hamburger places in the square. Number one. Their Hawaiian burger are top notch. Their bartenders are cooler AND AND AND they have better fries. Win in my book. Go early. Go before 11 and beat the hype east crowd.

      Food's a four, service a 3, and ambience a 1.5.

This was the backup plan I used when the family arrived from F1 and found an hour wait to be seated at Root Cellar. As expected, at 6pm there was zero wait for a table. The only other patrons in sight were two senior gentlemen sitting apart and staring at the sports TVs.

The only glitch re: the food were that the mussels still printed on the menu are no longer available, and that one person had mayo with her sandwich because they'd run out of ranch. All five orders came out at the same time and had no errors. Everyone loved their food. I had the chevre mac n cheese starter as my meal (yummy, just like the only other time I've been here) and the burgers looked fantastic. They have one of my favorite cheap pinot grigios on their wine list, which was a nice surprise. If I'd been offered a refill, I would have taken it. Or two.

The waitress was polite, came back to check if we were happy with our orders, refilled everyone's water glasses twice and cleared the table in a timely fashion. It would have been nice if we'd gotten a little extra attention, but only because it was SO empty in there. We got standard, competent service with no errors, so looking at some other reviews I'm calling it a win.

My brother is not a guy that's into shock value, especially at the table, so I believe him when he said everything in the men's room was broken including the drinking glass in one of the toilets.

I was shocked at the bill because it was so cheap for some really good food. Less than $60 to feed all of us (granted, without starters or mixed drinks) which is probably half what I usually spend feeding this exact group of adults for dinner.

Draw your own conclusions about my sense of risk or standards: the food was just too good to give up hope...this place is staying on my back-up emergency list.

The old Wine Cellar turned to a mashup of different cuisines. (?) I'm glad we came here after walking out of Sean Pat's on a busy Thursday night. Our server , Ava, was sharp and on top of it. I was dehydrated and she refilled my cup at least 4 times b4 it went empty.
Pros: The burgers... Watch out tap room, these guys have it down. I had the Street Special (1/2lb party, melted cheddar, crispy Bacon, grilled red onions, and fresh jalapeños, and topped with fried egg). I skipped the egg, and was still very impressed.
Cons: The seafood stuff. My bf liked his crawfish poboy- I didn't. Seafood gumbo tasted like canned roux.
Crowd: A mix of locals and college kids, but the mellow kind not the "Omg wtf" kind. :)
I'm giving them a 3 for now until they iron out some of the items on the menu.

      Great restaurant, mediocre bar.

Haven't updated their menu in forever, and apparently a quarter of the items on the menu aren't even served any more. Expect to be disappointed if you're looking for something exotic, but if you're looking for typical bar food, you'll be satisfied.

Burgers and fries are great, and the lobster bisque is to die for. I'd come here again just to get a big bowl of the stuff.

As for a bar, there are better places right around the corner. One time I came in and asked for a screwdriver, and the girl tending bar had no idea what a screwdriver was. A screwdriver, the most stereotypical college drink. I couldn't help but laugh. Any other time I've come, I've ordered U-call-its. I was asked what brand of spirit I wanted, and they always seemed to be out of the standard stuff. Bacardi, Deep Eddy, Cap Morgan, etc.

As for the ambiance, the place gets pretty crowded at night by people just looking to get wasted. Seems to be a pretty popular stop for bar crawlers. I mostly come when it's not busy, but then the waitresses and bartenders like to blast their iPods full of cruddy pop music.

As long as you're not picky, this is a good place to stop by, grab a bite, and leave. If you don't expect much, you'll never be disappointed.

My wife and a few of her friends went to vodka street on the night of July 3rd. I understand they were a little over served at a previous bar and needed to be cut off. That's fine. But the way the female bartender dealt with the problem was completely unacceptable. Apparently the male bar tenders where being professional about it but the female employee was runnin her mouth using every word in the book. I have worked at bars with much more hostile clientele than what vodka street gets and we would have NEVER treated a customer with such little disrespect. Unacceptable, unprofessional, immature bar tender. We will never be back, our friends will never be back.

The food was pretty good, but after receiving my menu I had half a mind to leave. It was moldy, the table was sticky (waitress cleaned it upon request) and the bathrooms were dirty and broken. I also was approached by two people asking for money/ donations. I wish the6y wouldn't let people come in off the street and interrupt my meal. $35 for 3 people, I guess you get what you pay for.
