This funeral home does a great job. The staff is very helpful and compassionate for what the family is going through. My dad passed away and we had the viewing here today. Their facilities are very laid back. I didn't pay for the funeral so I can't comment on pricing, but I heard they are very competitive from the purchaser.

Smooth experience
All our questions were answered with patience, and we had lots of questions and add-ons while planning for both a gathering and the actual funeral using two sites (funeral home and church). Everything went smoothly. After the initial consultation with Rebecca, Jessica was with us at every step, and I appreciate her efficiency and professionalism. Good experience with Schimunek Bel Air while going through the sadness of laying my husband to rest.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

DO NOT ORDER FLOWERS FROM the funeral home WEBSITE. After I did and the flowers didn't show; every single employee said "You shouldn't have done that. They mess up orders all the time." Well then take it off the website!!!! I ordered a beautiful wreath and it never showed because the website links to an anywhere flower delivery service that takes the order and your money even if they can't make the delivery. I was told the truck was already out in that area today we can deliver tomorrow. No one called to notify me even though they required my number to order. By the time I finally found out which service it was (by checking my bank account) All the local florists were closed. They just assumed I would say deliver tomorrow. Well, tomorrow didn't work for me. I asked the funeral home why they haven't taken the link down and they said I don't know it should have happened a long time ago.
Everyone there is nice and I am sure the family was probably happy with arrangements but, this is foolish. I don't live in Bel Air so I had to assume the funeral home would link to a local reputable florist on the website. That is not true.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

We just did pre-arrangements for my Grandmother. Going into this utterly clueless, my experience was actually very pleasant, informative and I felt that I had really taken the necessary steps to have things go smoothly whenever she would pass. I highly suggest you stop by if you have ANY questions about funerals or funeral prearrangements. The staff with LITERALLY sit down with you and walk you through everything start to finish.
HIGHLY recommend.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Heather K.Johnson City, TN17169Aug 25, 2008First to Review
I don't know how you rate funeral parlors. Schimunek didn't screw anything up, so I guess that's good for a few stars. Their grounds are impeccably clean, and the viewing rooms were nice enough.
I had to attend two viewings here, and both were for people I cared about very much. For my grandfather's funeral, the staff was very accommodating for the large number of people that came to pay respects. In fact, they noted that it was the largest turnout, after Mr. Schimunek's own viewing. The other viewing was just as difficult for me, but at least it's nice to be able to achieve closure in a nice, respectable setting.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Karl T.Venice, FL138Apr 4, 2019
Funerals are often a challenge, not everyone is on their "A" game, people forget things etc. When my sister in law had her husbands funeral there this past week, the employees that were directing parking actually raised their voices and yelled at the widow for forgetting to turn in a parking form, chastising her the "they have a job to do". Of course being that her husband was about to be buried, she was stunned and walked away bursting into tears. I confronted the attendants and they denied it, despite that everyone around heard this and was talking about their disgust. I went to the manager in charge who acted interested, but ultimately did nothing. It seems once they have your money, the "dignity" goes out the door. It also seems they could use some training for their lower level staff. I know a group of parking lot attendees and drivers are likely at or near minimum wage, but still, they have the power to turn a sensitive situation into a train wreck. Yelling at a widow on her husbands funeral day . . . disgusting. Failure to address this? Unthinkable.

Our family has had to call on this funeral home several times. Every time we have been treated to compassion and respect. The service is top notch and no detail is left behind. I think what really sets them apart is that their service and the outstandingly jagged come at a reasonable price.my family has called upon other funeral homes in the past and we never got this level of service for hat we spent. If we ever have the need for funeral service again, they will have our business. Thank you for taking care of our loved ones.
