Q:
Hi! We'll be staying in the baytowne wharf early June. We wanted to rent a golf cart to cruise around but found that outside golf cart rentals aren't allowed on the property. Does anyone rent inside of the resort?
A:
The only way you can use a golf cart in Sandestin is if you rent a place in Sandestin where the cart comes with the rental. There are very strict regulations regarding the carts.

I was pretty underwhelmed from the hype of this location. It's in a nice location, but the food is pretty mediocre at best and the shops are filled with any touristic type purchases. There are a lot of kid friendly activities, which makes it good for families.

Good place to eat and watch the boats.
You can walk around on the dock. Service at the restaurant was good too.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 1, 2023
In May of 2023 we stayed for a week at sardestan Resort accommodations in the village of Baytown Wharf. Baytown Wharf is a little community of shops and eateries and even some rides and activities such as zip lining and a carousel. While it is upscale and I do feel the prices were high in each of the little stores and restaurants it was fun to walk there every night and people watch. There's also a convenience store which carried a variety of food and health related products that came in very handy as we never needed to get in our car and leave the resort to get what we needed. While they are open during the day they definitely come to life at night. It's also very tranquil to sit by the big lake and taking the scenery. It's very well maintained and within walking distance to the marina and also to the Marshland walkway. Overall Sandestin Resort is a wonderful place to stay shop and eat but it's not for the budget minded.

While on our FL vacations, we have visited the village at Baytown Wharf a few times and have always been happy! It's a perfect place for the kids and also the adults. This year the kids did complain a little more about not having many kids games, but they did have fun and enjoyed themselves. I love the tram buses that take you were you need to go. These buses run all night until midnight, taking people to and from places. My personal favorite places are the ice cream shops, soap/lotion shops, and all the restaurant options!
Usually, I would say the bars but this year, there was no live bands, which was always my favorite thing about the village walk.
I also noticed there wasn't many little trinket shops or henna tattoo people out.
Overall, this place is filled with activities and things to enjoy for the whole family.
TIP: there is a treehouse down by the Marina that is worth the walk to visit!
As kids, me and my friend were convinced that we had found this hidden gem before anyone else did lolHelpful 4Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Shelbie W.Columbia, TN19Aug 9, 2023
A clean, well kept carnival experience for the kids. It's a very mini version of the pier at Disneyland and the activities are about $10-20 per experience. Overall great for what it is.

Was here 7 years ago for honeymoon. We decided to come after Hurricane Fiona hit PR and had to postpone trip. Best time to come this time of year after peak season. Crowds were less and you really could enjoy the scenery and restaurants. Definitely would come back this time of year again.

I was expecting more from this place. It's really just a bunch of restaurants and so-so carnival style kid entertainment. We won't be back.
