My husband has needed to stay at Vibra Acute Care Hospital two times in the last year of 2013 and 2014. Charles has been recuperating from stomach cancer surgery, Pneumonia, severe lung damage, heart failure and Arithymia, renal failure and other debilitating problems. Needless to say he has been just terribly ill.
Our two occasions of staying at Vibra Hospital were both wonderful. The staff couldn't be friendlier, more competent, more caring nor more professional. This hospital gave us top quality care. Dr. fox was Charles' Doctor and Dr. Bernstein saw him on weekends and when Dr. Fox took a vacation. Both Doctors were wonderful. At one point Dr. Bernstein discovered that Charles needed to go next door to Scripps Mercy Hospital to have his Gall Bladder removed. Dr Bernstein came over to check of him three times while he was there. That is the kind of doctors they are.
The staff was so friendly and helpful. Jerry, who helps admit patients, couldn't be more helpful or knowledgeable. He had been a nurse for years and really knows the ropes to help you understand your Medicare and insurance. One of the helping nurses, Irma, put my iPad away in a drawer once when I left it in my husbands room. She was concerned that it could be stolen. Roger, the Physical Therapist could not have been more helpful or uplifting while working with Charles.
The hospital was clean and calm and well run. The food was delicious believe it or not. I have never had better food at a hospital. Far and away better than the patient food at Scripps Mercy.
All and all I found Vibra to rate as a 5 Star hospital.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Nicholas G.Corona, CA0104Jul 1, 2023
This hospital doesn't even deserve one star
Absolutely horrible staff, disgusting conditions of rooms/restrooms in the room
One should never have to go find a nurse to come tend to a patient and still take forever to come do what you asked
Letting patients develop multiple infections in their care is PATHETIC, the director of this hospital should be ashamed
Do NOT bring your loved ones hereHelpful 2Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 1 - Sofia G.Encinitas, CA03Oct 12, 2023
PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES TO THIS HOSPITAL
do NOT send your loved one here. they are the most NEGLIGENT team i've seen in my 4+ years of dealing with my sick loved one. it's like the nurses and house supervisor (Michelle) WANT my relative to die, rather than heal her. they do everything in their power to work against you AND THE DOCTORS to help the patient. you ask clarification questions and they're immediately defensive.
(i would give specifics but i don't want them to read this and retaliate)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Denise A.Ontario, CA01Oct 26, 2023
My mom stayed in Select for a month and I honestly can't thank the Drs. / RN's / CNA's & RT's! They did such an amazing job staying on top of my moms needs! I felt safe to leave her in that hospital at night time knowing they would take care of her. We are extremely grateful for all of them!!!
BUT! On the other hand... Omar showed us and told us a whole different story. We went in that hospital with the mentality that my mom would be able to stay longer. They show you the new MRI machine but they never once used it. They only go on behalf of the previous hospital notes.
Cody was the case worker and was in such a rush to get us out. They have 0 sympathy towards family. Since the first night she started bringing up how my mom was to be moved into another facility. Don't believe everything they tell you when you go see the facility.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kimberly P.Corona, CA0201Jun 30, 2023
If I could leave 0 stars I would
This hospital doesn't even deserve not one star! They are the most laziest people I've ever seen. They take forever to check up on loved ones, you literally have to go up to them and ask them to do something or check on something and even after that they take forever to come back in the room.
DO BETTER, this place sucks so much.
I know damn well if it was there loved one in one of those beds they will be leaving a damn review too.Helpful 2Thanks 2Love this 1Oh no 1 - janet a.CA, CA03Oct 28, 2023

As a nursing instructor at a local nursing college, education is paramount in the growth and development of my students. I expect nothing but perfection from my students in all of their clinical patient care.
The staff at Select has exceeded all of my expeditions as a meticulous nursing educator. I have to take a moment and highlight a few Staff Nurses who have been examples of excellence, provide high-quality patient care, keep safety paramount, and who performs with love and integrity. I want to thank Arthur "Lee", Jagjeet, Natalie, Sheila, Sharon (edu.), Lucas and AnneMarie. These nurses been examples, not only to me, but to my students of what nursing excellence is! I have been so impressed by this hospital and their incredible staff.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Leslie L.Corona, CA032Jul 1, 2023
1000% would NOT recommend to bring your loved one here for care! Absolutely unacceptable of how low maintenance and care these patients have! None of the nurses/cna's/rt that I came across with have zero interest in taking care of their patients. DO BETTER in your hirement! It's very upsetting imagine if it were their loved ones on the bed they would want better care for their own. They need to take their job more serious why pursue this career if you don't care. I can go on and on of the numerous things I've heard some of these workers say in the halls, learn how to be discreet. The negligence and poor hygiene is unreal! Take these reviews more serious!

worst experience at this hospital. poor management, lazy nurses. speech therapists are rude and inconsiderate. the majority of the nurses were very rough, lazy, and disrespectful to my sister staying at that hospital. dirty linens every day. my sister left the hospital with scars and bruises. particularly on her leg. it was a very traumatic experience being at that hospital. all around a terrible experience for myself and my family.

My dad spent part of recovery before moving to sub acute. The move was sudden (and I thought much too soon) but the day after his move, we discovered he was septic and had pneumonia so I am actually grateful it happened. The case manager, Deneen was unsympathetic, pushy and didn't know what she was talking about. Worried about $ and insurance as all of these places tend to be. The front desk people were lovely as were most of the nurses and respiratory therapists. One nurse, Kayla was remarkably rude and had an awful attitude for one in the industry of being entrusted with a loved ones life and healing. She had an issue with cleaning my fathers teeth, which is a BIG deal for patients on ventilators and an actual health risk if not done. The physical therapist was absolutely amazing (I'm sorry I forgot your name), brought hope and made things feel brighter. Overall, I wouldn't recommend but when choosing these places, I've quickly realized there isn't much of a choice. The medical industry is a business and is treated as such by a lot of people. Thank you to those that treated my father with kindness in one of the toughest times of our lives. Speak up and visit your loved ones if they are in these types of facilities and unable to do so for themselves. Sick / healing people need advocates and faces to get better. My father and our family are still on our journey but started here and thought I'd let others know of our experience. If you're like me and struggling to make a decision, this place is okay. There is a level of professionalism that is given here that feels safe, just make sure you are present as often as you can be.
