This VA seems to think it's not their job to get prescriptions to pharmacies. I needed a Rx refilled and the prescription needed to be renewed. VA renewed the prescription but their responsibility stopped there. They had no interest in trying to get the renewed prescription to the local pharmacy...in their words, "it is not my job". Got it!

The VA Medical Center in Lincoln used to be a full fledged Hospital, but with government cutbacks being what they are, it has been reduced down to an outpatient clinic. The facilities are nice, clean, and well kept. The staff is friendly, knowledgable, and helpful. There is plenty of parking in the multiple lots available. The grounds surrounding the facility are beautiful, which provides a lovely backdrop for the gorgeous old architecture of the aging buildings.

I have been to many VA facilities and this one does things well. Other facilities are usually run down and outdated but even worse the halls are lined with people desperate to get care. This is not a full service hospital facility but has been reduced to a clinic with a few facilities on hand. They also run a veteran's food bank and other things on the ground. This used to be a fully functioning hospital but I don't know the full story behind the downsizing, though I imagine funding is one factor. The staff is friendly and helpful.
