How good is the food?
A:
The food is good and for the price I don't think you will be unhappy at all. Just a tip order a double shot to toss in the margaritas! Way to much juice for me.

We visited Verde on a Saturday night. We heard about it via our Offline membership and then all the great Yelp reviews sealed the deal. We grabbed a couple friends and decided to take the one hour road trip to check it out. The night we went was downpouring so the drive was longer than an hour, but it turned out to be well worth it!
The hostess was friendly from the moment we walked in the door. We requested a table in the back and she was happy to accommodate us. Thank so the miserable weather on a Saturday night, we had no wait despite our prime dinnertime arrival. Score!
Our server was a lovely as could be and made a few menu suggestions that were spot-on! My husband ordered a traditional Mojito and it was the best we had outside of South Florida!
Each couple ordered Empanadas for an appetizer. One chicken and one chorizo. I had the chorizo and it was excellent. The meat had a wonderful flavor and the empanada pastry was light and flaky. The green sauce that accompanied the empanadas was creamy and delicious with a nice little kick of spice.
Two of us ordered Mar y Tierra and loved it! Everything was seasoned perfectly, the vegetables were cooked perfectly, and the arepa was the best I have ever had! My friend never had an arepa before and now she's hooked. Everything about the arepa from the taste to the texture was amazing! We especially loved the light caramelization on the outside. Oh man, it was good!!
Another person in our party ordered Pibil and ate every bite. My husband had fajitas and asked for both the Tamarind chicken and Chimichurri steak, which they happily obliged. I had a taste of both the proteins and they were delicious!
All around, it was a perfect dining experience! We will definitely go back to try their brunch w/bottomless sangria!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 2639337Dec 17, 2023

Let's get this out the way. $5 bottomless sangria. Now, before you get too excited, they aren't super strong (expected), but they are delicious.
Now, the food to fuel your Sunday Funday.
Fish tacos: 5/5
Yes, yes, and yes. The reviews led me to the fish tacos and they did not disappoint. The tacos are full of tempura-flashed fish with veggies. I left satisfied.
I was told that the steak and eggs were good.
The place was pretty empty around 1:30pm. Definitely worth a visit!Helpful 4Thanks 1Love this 7Oh no 0 - Jan 15, 2024
Visited with the little cousins as we were heading to a class in the area. One of my cousins had been before and highly recommended. Loved the bright and fun interior. The service was also on point, very attentive and helpful. My cousin used to order a specific sandwich when he came which was no longer on the menu and the manager or owner came out to make an exception and asked what type of things he would like inside. So nice and excellent service. The food was delicious and came out pretty quickly as well. Very filling and hit the spot. I'm always on the lookout for Al pastor tacos, and these were definitely yummy. The fries were also that delicious crunchy texture, and loved the herb and cotija on top. Glad we got to visit and have such great service.

My husband and I have started going to Verde almost every month, and we really enjoy their food, service, and reasonable prices.
On this latest visit, we started with the tres quesos. Their chips are homemade, fresh fried, slightly thick, and absolutely amazing. With the tres quesos, you get one bowl of their yummy queso dip, and two bowls of the salsa. We destroyed this appetizer, as we usually do.
We've tried most of the items on the menu, but I think I've finally found my favorite--the fish tacos. There are three to a serving on small corn taco shells (doubled up to prevent breakage), with cabbage slaw, amazing poblano cream sauce, and tomatillo salsa. My tacos were generously filled, and after eating the dips, I could only eat one. (FYI - they do reheat well!) When I want a lighter meal, I'll get the Camarones Capeados appetizer as my entree. It's lower-carb and delicious. The Verde Burrito (steak) is also delicious, but I might ask for a smaller version with no rice in the future to lower the carb/calorie count.
My husband had their steak fajitas on this latest visit. They served a few too many onions in this dish, but the steak portion was still generous. They give you sides of pico, sour cream, and cheese which could (should) be doubled in size. Their included side of black beans was delicious as usual. My husband used to get the fajitas at Prickly Pear in Mooresville (now closed) all the time, and he said these were a decent substitute. He's also enjoyed their Pibil, Mar y Tierra, Pollo a la Plancha, and Ropa Vieja on previous visits.
We always have fast and efficient service here. I appreciate that I can pay at the table using Apple Pay, too. We can't wait to return!Helpful 3Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Andi, I am very sorry that your experiences with us have been "on the fence", and I appologize for the inconsistency that we have displayed thisfar. First, we are sorry that the tacos were removed from the dinner menu, but I can assure you that tacos are now on the dinner menu now. Also I am sorry to hear that your queso was uncharacteristly thick, congealed, and barely warm, but I assure you that we use the top quality products and ingredients to create a delicious cheese dip for everyone to enjoy. We appeciate everyone's comments and suggestions greatly, and if you have any concerns about the quality of the food, we would be happy to assist you. Finally, I am sorry to hear that you are unhappy about the prices here at Verde, but I assure you that we price our food cautiously and considerately to match the quality of our food and service.
Thank you so much for your help Andi, and I hope that you will dine with us again soon with better results.
Sincerely, Alejandro Soto, Owner and ManagerNov 23, 2014Previous reviewI am happy to say that Verde has found their stride. They updated their menu and added back tacos, in addition to a lot of new specialty items that show both the chef's creativity and the kitchen's adeptness at preparing them. Service has also improved, with friendly and efficient servers.
While the queso dip is not on the menu, you can still order it, and I was pleasantly surprised with the heat of the dip (both temperature and flavor-wise). It was still a bit thick, but the taste was fantastic.
On a recent visit, we tried the Ropa Vieja and Mar Y Tierra. I only preferred the latter dish because it was less sweet, but both were well prepared and nicely presented.
Verde is going back on our dinner rotation!Aug 28, 2013Previous reviewI am on the fence about Verde. I anxiously awaited their opening and have been here twice, but they have already made changes, and not for the better.
The first week during their opening, $9 tacos and burritos were available for dinner. The second week, they were removed from the dinner menu. (I really liked the shrimp tacos, too.) The fajitas are arguably better than their sister, Prickly Pear, but their enchiladas are not. The chicken version also has dark meat. The first time, the queso dip was hot and delicious. The second time, it was thick and almost congealed, and barely warm.
Service has been good, and is faster than Prickly. You will also recognize some friendly faces (and some of the better servers) from Prickly.
I thought Verde was going to be priced between Burrito Loco and Prickly Pear, but the prices are more in line with Prickly. Without the more reasonably priced tacos and burritos for dinner, it's really expensive for the setting.
I have to be honest and say I'm a bit disappointed with Verde after my two visits. I am going to give it some time before I return in the hope that they can work out some of the kinks. - Janall F.Huntersville, NC259107Feb 24, 2024Updated review

Walk into a cool atmosphere with booths and tables that are elevated on a riser. The menu pans several Latin American options and this time I was looking for mofongo and I was impressed. I'm used to seeing the seafood I. Top of the mashed plantain. Here they turned the yuca i to a bowl and filled it with seafood, peppers, and onions. It was a flavorful and delicious treat.
Verde has a variety of options, brunch on the weekend, and a kids menu which includes quesadillas and chicken tenders. Come by and enjoy a great meal at Verde.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jun 23, 2023
The service food and ambiance was great. We sat outside with a live DJ playing Caribbean music especially soca music. It was a vibe. The shrimp and plantain was good but not work over $12 for just two. They should add more plantains and make them smaller so it can be more enjoyable. The plantain does get soggy due to the sauce from the shrimp. I'm would give this place another chance and recommend to friends
