I cannot explain why I keep coming here when every interaction and experience I have in this USPS location is so painful. The employees are intensely unpleasant. It's like they try to be as rude and unkind and troublesome as possible, so customers will stop coming here.

Attendants are always in a poor mood. Never seem happy to help their customers. Many, but not all give you a very difficult time and insist you print a new label because measurements were a tad off. Worst USPS in Indianapolis

Not my favorite post office location in Indy- "meh, okay" is probably the best way to describe our experiences here. During this recent visit, there were no mailing supplies out like you typically find; for example, tape and pens. Parking can sometimes be difficult at this location. The upside is, you can park and also grab some tasty eats while you're in the neighborhood. Overall, not my favorite Post Office location but not the worst either.

I didn't see any self-service kiosks here, which is a bummer. Other than that, though, this post office is pretty good. When I went on a weekday morning, there was no one except me there, so I was able to get in and out fast.

There is a parking lot across the street, and a ramp and stairs at the entrance.

I always think the US Post Office could really go for some rebranding as this location fits all the stereotypes: old building, bored workers, long lines, and unhelpful service. It's the closest post office to me, so I keep going, but I am continually frustrated by my experience. Sometimes I will hear several other employees on break in the back while one employee is trying to handle the full line of customers alone. I definitely try to go at random times so I don't get stuck for what feels like hours. I wish someone would actually read the reviews and make a few changes.

The most unpleasant counter service I've ever encountered at a Post Office, which is a shame since the Bacon location is really helpful and Bash is also nice.

This place is so slow and unaccommodating that I question why I don't drive farther to a more customer service focused location. I stood in line for 37 minutes to mail a package. There were only three people in front of me at the time and two of them did not have their things in order. Once they did they were allowed to jump back in line, At the beginning of the line of cars. It was 4 PM and only one customer service agent working also. Now we all know that most businesses close at five, and if they have things to mail they come at four. Why aren't there more customer service representative's at that time?

It is definitely best to visit this location at off-peak times to avoid r e a l l y long lines!

You may even want to swing into neighboring Hubbard and Cravens and pick up some fuel to sip on during your wait. :)

Bonus points if you can get the staff to smile during your transaction! From my experience, it's a tall task at this location.

I have arrived about 15 minutes ago. There is only one customer in front of me but only o e very slow cashier working. No wonder the post office is one of the most hated business in the country. USPS: get yourself together and offer better service!!!

      First to Review

I know that post offices are already archaic things of the past--ones that we just can't get past in some instances for our shipping and mailing needs. But this location stays willfully behind, it seems.

I visited this location at around 4 p.m. today to pick up a book of stamps. The line was two-people strong in front of me. It took me about 15 minutes to reach the front. Part of the problem was that there was only one clerk in place. The other was that she was incredibly slow. By the time I left, four angry people had been added to the line.

The most obvious question in all of this: Why on earth doesn't this post office have a postage stamp vending machine?? HELLO!

The post office on Carrollton Avenue needs a stamp vending machine, for starters. Photo by Jennifer Litz.
