Urban Vet got me scheduled for the weekend with ease. I had to bring my cat in to get vaccinations since I was moving into an apartment building with certain pet regulations.
The staff and vet were great with my cat and he barely made a fuss, which is rare especially after albeit short car ride.
They also gave me good advice on teeth cleaning and other preventative health measures to consider for my cat.
The venue is mildly confusing to find since it's actually inside the Dog Lounge building and also behind some very large unassuming doors once inside the building itself.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jacqueline M.Seattle, WA18975Jul 9, 2019
Called about getting a fracture repair done on my pet. I felt very put off by the Veterinarian who I saw. They were trash talking a local veterinary surgeon. I didn't know that was a thing in this profession? They referred my family elsewhere, which is fine. It speaks very lowly about their establishment and the individuals that work there. Shame on you.

I have to say though I've only had the best service when I brought my dog in and one time it was a last minute thing and they took me right away both doctors Dr. Angel and Dr. Moore were exceptional doctors and I will continue to go back there
Very close by
My dog had an eye infection and the doctor found out that it was conjunctivitis and within one day her eye is looking 100% better
Thank you doctor

I brought my cat in to Urban Vet for a drop-in vaccination booster. It was my fault I didn't check their hours but since Urban Vet is attached to the doggie day care I figured I'd be safe going in a 8:40 AM.
When I arrived there was another customer staring at the locked door. She had an actual appointment and was told to be there at 8:30.
At 8:45 the grumpy, unpleasant receptionist finally arrived. There was no apology. There was no morning greeting. There was no thank you for waiting. She took one look at me and asked if I had an appointment. I explained the reason for my drop in and she gave me a look of death and muttered, "Well, you're going to be waiting awhile. No one will be here until 9." Now, I'm a little dramatic at times but 15 minutes for a drop-in wait is more than reasonable. In fact, waiting 15 minutes even having a schedule appointment is reasonable. But 15 minutes of waiting in a room with sour-puss reception nazi was going to be hell.
Once she'd set up camp and started her day she asked for my last name. I said it. Spelled it. Said it again. In an accusatory tone I was asked if could be under a different last name. I haven't gotten married since my last visit. I have't dropped my last name. I know my name. I know how to spell my name. I'm not in charge of their faulty filing. We tried my cat's name. I guess that worked because I never heard other wise.
Cat shots done. Paid and ready to go. No good bye. No thank you. I made a pitiful (and painful) attempt at being the bigger person and said "thank you" as I walked out. All I got in return was a grunt.
I will not be taking my cat here again.Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Erin H.Seattle, WA234518Nov 4, 2010
I am a former Urban Vet person. They were close, they were attached to my kennel, and Dr. Clair is nice. However, it seemed like every time I went there I walked out spending several hundreds of dollars for basic services, and hearing how many more services I needed to have done (x-rays, teeth cleaning, extensive testing).
I started to become suspicious of fees when my dog had a UTI. I originally called to see if I could just bring in a urine sample rather than having the dog examined.. but they informed me they needed to see the dog ($55). Fine. So $255 later, my dog was diagnosed with a UTI. I gave her the medication and brought in the follow up urine sample ($65) as requested.
I didn't get a phone call telling me the results. So I called the next day and was told they tried to reach me... (which they didn't, because there were no missed calls or messages on my phone). They informed me that they needed another urine sample ($65) and that I should get the dogs teeth cleaned ($$$$$) because maybe that's what was causing the infection.
um... sure. I love my pets, but I'm not Oprah wealthy.
So I hopped on yelp and looked for another vet in the area. Aurora Veterinary Hospital had good reviews, so I figured I'd give them a try.
I called Urban Vet to get the pets charts sent over (I had to do this twice because they didn't do it the first time). The vet over at Aurora looked at the chart, said it was non-info, and explained to me WHY I didn't need all those services I "NEEDED" according to Urban Vet.
They examined both dogs, did urine tests, ultrasounds, found something the one dog has had forever, identified what it was, gave me some medicated foot shampoo to correct it... and I walked out of there spending less than what I spent at Urban vet for 1 dog and identical testing/exams.
I actually noticed a difference in my dogs feeling more calm not hearing the barking from the attached kennel.
Urban Vet is not a bad place.. but if you're able to try others you might be pleasantly surprised.
It's the little things ("we called")... and the not so little things ($$$)Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Robin F.Palm Springs, CA125713Mar 11, 2017
A year ago I rescued a Boston terrier mix. Dr.Clare has been extremely helpful and compassionate with all of his care. She has also given me great advice as a new owner and dog mom. My little nugget Porter is my world, he has come so far and I wouldn't take him anywhere else for care.

I took my dog in a couple weeks ago to get an ingrown dewclaw removed, and to get his anal glands excreted. The staff is very friendly and informative - however, I am giving them two stars because when they brought my dog back to me there was blood on his leg - I didn't think much of it at the time - I thought maybe it was from the dewclaw, but after we got home, I noticed that he had a pretty big gash on his thigh that WAS NOT there when we came in. My dog is difficult and has to wear a muzzle, but he's only 20lbs...I honestly have no idea what could have happened in that room to warrant that gash. I also think they should have told me about it.
Also, their fees are a little out of control. Not to mention that every time I have been there it seems like they are trying to get me to come in more often and spend more $$ - even though I have a perfectly healthy dog.
We won't be going back.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - alyssa a.Seattle, WA210Sep 20, 2017
I highly recommend Dr. Clare at urban vet. She is compassionate and patient. She took great care of my dog Fiona and helped guide me through her end of life care when she got congestive heart failure. She takes the time to explain what is going on with your dog, so you can make well informed decisions about there care. The front staff is extremely friendly and welcoming and always made me and Fiona feel special. I can't recommend them enough!

We've been taking our dog here since we got him from a shelter over two years ago. He's been weighted, vaccinated, neutered, poked at, drugged, tested, spritzed, and sprayed by Dr. Clare and her staff over at UrbanVet. When we first started to bring our dog in, we thought the prices were a little bit high, but we've come to realize that's just the cost of doing business in the city. Despite that initial reaction, I always feel like they've been very upfront with what tests are necessary and unnecessary and the costs associated with each.
Dr. Clare and her team are always willing to answer whatever questions we have and offer any advice they can over the phone. They're great with our dog, who can be a bit of an emotionally charged dog, and will even block off sections of time to work with us in the morning when the office is quiet and before other dogs and people arrive. Still, our dog loves going there, despite going home with no nuts one day, and he is always relaxed and happy when we pull up to go to the vet.
Unfortunately, they lose a star for their location inside of the Downtown Dog Lounge. The barking and the yelling from DDL often reaches a ridiculous, anxiety-producing volume. But, more importantly, you must also pass through the DDL store to get to the vet instead of having a dedicated entrance to use. This may be fine with small dogs and/or under ideal conditions, but it can be troublesome when two large or sick dogs have to pass in the stairs, or if dogs are allowed off-leash in the store.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Roesi D.Seattle, WA6810Feb 17, 2009
Urban Vet really is as good as it gets. It's unfortunate to read the negative posts from people as I would never in a million years envision having any sort of problem at this clinic. Dr. Clare is amazing. She is calm and collected and it's obvious that her team really respects her.
She always leans away from blatantly blasting your pet with unnecessary drugs and chemicals. Sure, you may pay extra to take a few precautionary steps but it's your pet! I would much rather screen for ear mites or worms than over blast them with antibiotics so that when the time came to really need it, they were resistant. Seriously! She is careful and sensitive and my doggy really likes her. And her staff. They all know his name and he's never scared to be there (except for the scale but that's his problem!). Clare fixed my dog the same day a friend had their dog fixed at another clinic. My dog was feelin great, and the other doggy was dragging for days longer!
I think the clinic is cool. It's in a big ol' warehouse and you are greeted with a doggy altar at the door. Clare is super hip and so is her staff. She does pet acupuncture too!
Sorry for the other people who had problems. I seriously think they must have been misunderstandings. I really would never, ever go anywhere else.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
