I came during a weeknight on 24 October 2019 with follower Yelper Luciana and my friend Ami. We had just left a free, ACLU event where actors Busy Philipps and Ike Barinholtz where guest speakers.
I appreciate the farm-to-table concept of this restaurant.
STARTER -- Charcuterie Board: This is a European style appetiser with meats and other delicates like cheese. This board had bacon jam which was delicious. We got this board for free because a friend had downloaded some app on her phone which gave us the free charcuterie board.
DINNER -- I split the Smoked Ohio Chicken ($28) with a friend. My other friend ordered crab cakes. The chicken meal was fine. It came with root vegetables and a tomato ginger sauce. There were two pieces of chicken (drumsticks I think). I didn't like the taste of the sauce. I was so hungry that I even forgot to take a picture of the chicken dish. The chicken tasted good. Overall, I wouldn't order this dish again. For $28, there wasn't much on the plate. I'm glad that I decided to share my order with my friend Ami so I paid $14 plus tax and tip.
SERVICE -- Good. The restaurant was not busy when we arrived around 8pm on a Friday. We were greeteed by a waiter who explained the menu options to us. He brought water to the table and checked on us throughout the night.
LOCATION - downtown, attached to the Westin hotel.
It's interesting when you like the appetizer more than the main dish...haha. I'll have to come back here to try their steaks which is what they are known for. I was hoping to try the crab cake that one of my friends ordered but she was not willing to share...LOL.

Had to travel to Cleveland for some family business and due to some frustrations and other issues we did not eat dinner the night before. Add to that we were extremely tired so Urban Farmer was perfect because it is attached to the Westin Hotel which is where we are staying...(I may review that later...) and I certainly did not feel like driving!
The establishment is very nice and has a large open atmosphere. The staff was nice and very friendly. But I will admit I wasn't as talkative as I usually am due to the lack of rest and my "HANGRY" attitude!
There is a two team approach to the seating and service which is very nice. The waitress sat us down and took our drink orders and the waiter took our food order. The good thing about the two team approach was it sped up things especially when it was time to order another drink. The waitress kept the table clean and ensured we had enough drink refills and libations which was then brought out by the waiter.... a very nice touch ! I know I'm not the only person who was served by one person that is working multiple tables so not only do you have to wait for the waiter/waitress to take the order then the return to bring the food.
Now on to the food.....
We got the "Build your own Bloody Mary Bar," "Bubbly Bar," "Farm Eggs Any Style" and "Grilled Flat Iron Steak & Eggs!"
Don't judge me but yes I tried everything and I was being greedy because I was hungry. EVERYTHING was excellent, YES EVERYTHING! Don't think just because I'm was hungry that I'm not critical of my food. Being a son of a chef makes me very critical when it comes to food and I always speak my mind. But I'm the case of Urban Farmer, the service and food was excellent so compliments to the chef!
The Build your own Bloody Mary Bar was amazing. I'm sorry I don't have a picture of the final product of the Bloody Mary because I was so excited about the bar that I forgot to take picture before I indulged. The bubbly bar is amazing as well. In either case...the waiter brings your alcohol of choice in a small carafe and you make the drink yourself. This is awesome because you can make the drink as strong as you like.
The Farm Eggs were great but they serve this "Breakfast Sausage that you can choose as your protein and OH MY GOODNESS!!! This sausage will make you slap yo momma!
The Flat Iron Steak was truly something else! It was cooked medium, seasoned like you wouldn't believe and very tender. Not all chefs can get the temperature of a steak perfectly but this one was ON POINT! Add to that the food came out very quickly, was hot and certainly enjoyable.
If you are ever in Cleveland I highly encourage you to patronize Urban Farmer!!! YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED!
If you do stop by... tell em Drew sent ya!

Urban Farmer is an aesthetically pleasing and deliciously fun place to grab brunch with friends. It's pricier than need be ($17 French Toast, for example) but still good to try! I experienced this place on a Monday morning during the Thanksgiving week so it was mostly dead in here, but I loved the restaurant itself and the staff was helpful/nice.
The Brioche French Toast was SUBLIME. There's some kind of jam on it that really elevates the meal from regular French Toast to Urban Farmer's special rendition. The Chicken Sausage, on the other hand, was kind of weird... "Cherry" is in the name, but it leads you to believe there's just cherry flavoring to it; however, there are literal chunks of cherries in the sausage patty that make it very sweet and a bit odd in taste, but I still liked it enough to eat one of the two patties you get for $6.
I recommend coming here during weekend brunch times to really enjoy the atmosphere, but it's a cool spot for sure.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sep 7, 2019
It was a busy Sunday morning brunch time when we walked into Urban Farmer, inside the Westin Hotel. I wasn't hungry when I entered the restaurant but the smell made my stomach do somersaults. The early morning scent of coffee and breakfast, can wake anyone up!
Even though it was busy, we were seated quickly. The ambiance of the restaurant was lively yet cozy. My friend ordered a full breakfast platter which was good and I ordered a French Onion Soup. It was delicious! It turned some heads around when the server walked the soup over to the table. This French Onion Soup had some braised beef which was unique for me and the onions, cheese and breading was perfectly made. I absolutely loved the melted, crusted cheese in French Onion Soup! That is my favorite part!
We had a nice brunch at Urban Farmer. I would love to come back for dinner to try their dinner menu. Located in Downtown Cleveland, it's easily accessible by public transportation and walking distance to the waterfront to enjoy the beautiful views.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 29689163Jun 25, 2019
Urban Farmer is a cute little restaurant nestled inside the Westin Hotel. It is very quaint and has a very nice rustic farm look to it. We stumbled upon this place while looking for breakfast venues and were not disappointed. From the food, to the decor, to service everything was exceptionally great.
I like that this restaurant has an amazing chef who is very involved in the process of choosing and curating his ingredients from local farms and vendors. The quality of the produce could be tasted in the dishes which were phenomenal. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Beware: the granola has nuts in it and possible traces of peanuts. So if you have a nut allergy ask for your dishes without granola.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 1502951434Jul 14, 2018
Ridiculously over priced...but the food is well presented, tantalizingly tasty and the service is pretty spot on.
I went for brunch and was not disappointed. The benedict's seem to be the crowd pleaser, but the chicken apple sausage balls boast lotsa flavah too!
The creamy grits are stupid yummy and a slice of bacon or two make it a meal...
The biscuits are light, flaky and packed with unnecessary calories...so..who's counting em?
Lastly, if u like tea, they serve fresh leaves in that cool "ingenuiTEA" gadget... fun!
It could definitely be better priced but I enjoyed everything.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Travis C.Huntington Beach, CA555591571Feb 19, 2020
Solid place. It's good for breakfast/brunch, lunch and dinner. The specials are different for the earlier menu than the dinner menu. The service is great here and getting seated is usually prompt.
There are a few items I've had here that make me come back for more. And a couple that just aren't my style. All their food is fresh and plated very well. There's thought and love behind these dishes.
I've had seafood and steaks here. As well as brunch and a simple lunch. Altogether I've had a great experience that draws me back for more. The decor is nice and music plays in the background. The ambiance is casual upscale.
If I could single out one specific dish that makes this place a must try, it would be the Tenderloin cut that I had the other night. It sold out last night but if it's available you shouldn't pass it up.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Oct 20, 2017
I was staying at the Westin Cleveland Downtown hotel for a few days for work - the Urban Farmer is attached to the hotel.
I had breakfast in here two mornings, plus dinner one evening, and cocktails a couple of times.
The breakfasts were very good - and very expensive. The first breakfast was around $30+ dollars. The next morning, I ordered one that was less expensive - around $18 or so. The food was very good.
One evening, I had a bowl of soup and then a burger, sans bun (low carb). The soup, I believe it was an Oxtail soup - was rather ordinary, it lacked richness, complexity, and seasoning. The burger was pretty good - served with add ons of bacon and avocado.
Service was hit or miss. Service during breakfast was very good. At dinner - when my soup was served - it was brought out with no soup spoon or - silverware. I had to wait for a server to come by (not mine) and request a spoon. I was brought a spoon - that WAS NOT a soup spoon - and the spoon was dirty. I set it aside and waited - another waiter came by - and I showed him the spoon, asked if it was a soup spoon, it was not - he brought me a soup spoon and silverwear roll (napkin and eating utensils).
One evening - our work completed for the week, we visited for cocktails. I ordered their version of a Manhattan - not a fan of their style. We also sampled the 14 year old Oban and 16 year old Lagavulin single malt scotch. We ordered most of our cocktails at the bar and brought them back to our table since our server was hard to find.

Enjoyed lunch very much! Restaurant is connected to the Westin hotel, so very convenient and relaxed. They have a great bar/lounge area to relax in. Tried the restaurant for lunch, the cocktail menu looked nice, it was too early to order (was working) but would try next time. Had the lake fish sandwich, pretty good! Served on a fresh roll (attention to the bread was nice, it was toasted etc), the sandwich was dressed nice with a really nice cabbage or lettuce slaw, pickles, tomato etc. The fish was cornmeal crusted and fried, was good but maybe a little overcooked and tough, but not horrible. Nice side options, I got the side salad, was really yummy with a honey vinaigrette. Overall great lunch, would recommend.
