      Employees locked the doors a half hour early and refused to come out. They appeared to be playing a game on one of their phones. Several customers ended up milling about outside banging on the doors. One of the employees finally walked out and completely ignored everyone and locked some keys in a lockbox and walked back in.

      Also, the truck smelled like urine.

      We have used U-haul for years.... let me start by saying that. We to pick up a trailer today and the young man at the counter told me to go out there and hook up the trailer myself. I'm a woman ... granted that my husband was sitting in the car but he didn't know that. I have never been to a u-haul location where they DON'T hook up the trailer for you?? which is also what I told this young man. His response was that once "I go out there and find it, it's light enough that I can pick it up and hook it on there myself and when I bring it back O should back it in there and unhook it myself??" Wtf? That didn't sit right with me and I was getting annoyed l so I asked if there was anyone else in the building that could hook it up? He says never mind i'll do it but but it's really a fee to hook it up?? Wtf again??? I said when did u-haul start doing that? His response was it has always been like that? Now i know for a fact that's not true. I let him hook it up and left. I looked all over U-hauls website and called the corporate office to find out that there is no such thing!

      sir .... if you needed extra pocket money you could of just said so... I mean for real??

      Needles to say... I will never go back to this location again!

      There was a rat in my storage. While the staff is extremely nice and very attentive to your needs, do not rent storage from here. I was very upset when I found a dead rat in my storage unit. I paid $99.95 for 24 months and had to throw away most of the items that were placed in the unit. I am very unhappy and hope to save the next persons items.

      Used this location for storage for many (approx 5) years. I fully emptied out my storage unit last week and my movers were shocked at the amount of rat feces. I even found a rat skeleton, indicating just how long there has been an infestation. I asked my movers for advice on picking a storage company in the future and they told me to ONLY use a facility that is new construction. and to do a site visit before storing anything.

      Moving is a very stressful thing as we all know. This Uhaul office was our final stop after a full day of driving from Boston and we were exhausted and ready to be rid of the auto-transport trailer.

      Phill was our savior! He was so warm and patient, jumping in to offer his help when the clerk supposed to be helping us was not very helpful. Phill spent over 15 minutes getting our car off the trailer--it was particularly difficult because someone on the other end hadn't attached it correctly. It was already late afternoon and we still had all our unpacking to do, so after 15 minutes in the heat trying to release our car, Phill finally made the gracious decision to cut the strap holding the tire off rather than continue to keep us waiting. It is not everyday you have a company and an employee who is willing to do something at the expense of the company to do right by the customer, yet this was Phill to a T. He kindness and smart problem-solving really saved the day. We would definitely use this Uhaul's services again if Phill and people like him are working there!

      This location had courteous and friendly employees. The vehicle I rented was clean and in good condition. The check in and check out process was pretty quick and definitely simple. Make sure you have your insurance information on hand if you don't plan on using u-haul's. The reason for the loss of one star is due to the location not being open during the normal hours of operation. The location was supposed to be opened at 7 am. I arrived at 7:20 for my 7:30 pick up time and the store was closed. After 5 minutes of waiting the manager came and opened the store. Although there was a small issue I would still use this location again in the future.

      First to Review

      Let me preface this by saying that the only reason I was at this location was that I was told by the U-Haul on Columbia Pike in Falls Church that my 14' truck reservation would not be available. Mind you, they to tell me this at 9:30 on a Friday night for a 9:00 AM Saturday pickup when I had made the reservation nearly two weeks in advance. I got back from the movies and went online to make a reservation at this U-Haul. They didn't have a 14' truck but DID have a 20' truck. Reservation made.

      I called at 7:30 A.M. to confirm my reservation and pick up time. The guy on the phone said the reservation was here, the truck was here, and everything should be ready to be picked up between 8:30 and 9:00. We arrive at the U-Haul and not only do they have no such 20' truck, but the three guys that were there had no idea who I had talked to to get such information. They also had no idea when they would have a truck, ANY truck, and really just sat there. While we were there, there was another couple experiencing the same problem.

      Since they were not making any progress on finding where there was a truck, I went to the Ryder dealership across the street. They got me in and out with a 26' truck in under twenty minutes. I highly recommend that you just go across the street and save your money and time.

      After renting storage space from EZ STORAGE for the past 4 years without any issues, i had to relocate causing me to change storages. For location convenience i chose this U-Haul. I opted for a climate controlled indoor unit where i thought my belongings would be ok. I frequent my storage unit as i keep my luggage, shoes, seasonal decorations, clothes, and furniture in there. Well this time i went to my storage to gather my rain boots. When i opened the box, i see a nice amount of mouse droppings. I called U-Haul and spoke with Paul. I told Paul about my findings and somehow the phone got disconnected. I immediately called right back only to be sent to the answering service. The woman on at the call center was extremely empathic and agreed that i pay too much to find mouse droppings. She attempted to call the location in which she was also unsuccessful (this was 5pm they don't close until 7pm). She stated that she left them a message about my concerns and advised me to call U-Haul customer service. I called customer service in which they also called the location. They told me that i need to call my insurance because there's nothing they can do. I requested a copy of my recording (in which i still have not received). I was supposed to receive a call back from "Meri" the property manager and here we have it days later and still no call. I simply wanted to talk with someone about their preventive measures for rodents. I value my items and it's a shame to find my belonging like this and for this U-Haul to seem to not care.

      Elmer was excellent when I called in but unfortunately, he was off on the Saturday I went in. It never fails - the person you talk to on the phone that makes you glad you decided to use their business is the one that you don't get to see when you get there. This location needs to hire employees that understand customer service better and at least appear to like their job. These guys on Saturday (11/12/16) seemed angry and were very unpleasant. One guy saw me coming behind him and let the door close right in my face. When I walked to the counter I mentioned in a joking manner 'hey, you could have held the door open for me"...he just looked at me like I had him at gunpoint and said "can I help you"...no personality whatsoever! When I let him know I had a reservation he just looked at me and moved to another register then when another guy came out from the back of the store he just pointed to him as if to imply "he'll help you, not me". Worst customer service EVER. When I tried to keep the conversation light by telling them they needed some music to liven up the place another guy yelled with a nasty voice "that's how we like it"! At that point I knew I needed to just forget the pleasantries and complete my reservation and leave...never to return or refer to my friends/family!

      Despite computer troubles, Larenzo was helpful throughout the entire process, even helping us unload. Facility was clean and easy to get in and out. Overall very solid experience, in particular a positive review for Larenzo and the rest of the crew.
