I wouldn't recommend this U-Haul. I reserved moving boxes and tried to call twice to find out the times I'm supposed to pickup and drop off (confirmation emails don't tell you) and was put on hold for 20 minutes each time. They don't even give you a chance to speak over the phone they just say "HOLD" and then nothing lol. No one ever answers, and now I'm seeing similar reviews with the same experience. I recommend the U-Haul on 1st St in Walkers Point, I've always had good service there.

I was very disappointed with services at this Uhaul and the location in West Allis. I had a reservation for Labor Day weekend and the day before my rental, less than 24 hours, was told the truck I reserved was never returned so they could offer me a pick up the same day at 3pm when it was initially for 9am.
I said no, I had help scheduled and was told I could pick up the same size truck in West Allis at the same time but would need to return it at 9am the following day vs 3pm as my initial reservation stated.
I had to move, clean the unit, drive out of state and return the truck in 24 hours. I really had no other option and ended up paying extra money to have help load items outside of normal business hours on Sunday morning. They refunded me $50, but when I asked for additional financial compensation for paying movers extra, driving further than my initial reservation, I was told "no". I even spoke with the manager who denied my request.
The check in process at 9am in West Allis was a mess. The line was out the door and thankfully I checked in online and bypassed 20 people, who met me with glares because the line was moving at a glacial pace. Pro tip- check in online!
Moving is one of the most stressful events in life and the level of unprofessionalism and rigidity with uhaul is unacceptable.
I will be renting elsewhere from now on!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Heather G.Milwaukee, WI131194938May 29, 2021
OK, so I come to this store on State St. in Milwaukee. First issue was getting in the parking lot! Trucks are parked blocking drive.
Then I come in and the line was long!! Nobody in store helping customers! 2 people behind the desk are SLOW as snails! Because the line is not moving, people are getting upset; Including ME! The woman hollers out that if you don't have a reservation they have nothing.....line didn't move! So much swearing including me. A man in front reserved a trailer and because he didn't know anything about a 12 AM self check in, they canceled the reservation. OK, one person down and
still no help on floor! I needed many items and couldn't find a cart. Then.....I found one lonely cart just waiting for me to find it.
After seeing and being an angry faced customer I made my way to pay, got up to the pay place ( an empty inside down box that has the credit card machine on it. VERY DISTANCED FROM CLERK!!! I had to holler out my cart contents. I tired, cranky and annoyed at my entire experience here, but to finalize matters, I get my cart and try to get out of line to leave. There is NO room to turn cart and stuff started getting knocked over and my items hit a couple people. With each item bumped or dropped, the clerk, trying to be funny?) would holler out an amount that this would cost me.
SORRY...TOO TIRED for jokes today!
And there is no help out with your items either!! Make sure you're able bodied. ( a uhaul was blocking disabled parking : { )
They are wearing masks on but under their noses. Masks are required for customers though and there is no social distancing or had sanitizer. Also, nobody cleaned credit card machine between uses!
Not recommending this Uhaul store!!! Prefer Hwy 100 in West All is or even the one in Rochester, MNHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Arthur M.Fargo, ND035Jul 6, 2021Updated review
My wife and I moved to Milwaukee WI on May 15th. We rented a U-Haul in Blain Minnesota for 601.00 which included state tax and drive safe insurance. 1 utility dolly and one furniture dolly. The rate was 1 way for 7 days with 3-4 extra days if needed. We were told to drop it off at U-Haul moving and storage on the 19th at 10:30am. on May 19th at 10:45am, we pulled into U-Haul moving and storage. We had to stop to gas up the truck per my contract. The manager and owner of the U-Haul location Christopher Marshell stated that his location is a Franchise of U-Haul. After Checking the truck in, inspecting the truck to make sure it was clean and all the equipment was there he said we were good to go. Two hours later around 12:30pm May 19th,2021 U-Haul called and left a voice message to please call them back because they wanted to know if we had returned our truck as another customer was waiting for the truck. Being super confused, we contacted U-Haul back and explained that we dropped it off already. Then they noticed an "odd charge" for 277.88 and that on May 19th my contract had been "updated" at 11:30am. They asked if I was aware of this and if I had authorized an additional 11 days. I said no. According to Corporate Headquarters in Phoenix Arrizona, Ann The manager on duty of the Sales And service , Christopher Marshell had no legal authority to modify my contract to add 11 additional days. After an investigation into the matter it was determined by U-Haul that he attempted to bill me for the 11 extra days he illegally added. And then he charged a "late fee" of 30.00 bringing the total to 258.88. My wife and I contacted U-Haul again and filed a complaint. Then we filed a complaint with the Milwaukee WI city Atorney Generals office, the Federal Trade Commision and Better Business bureau. After weeks, of not hearing from any of them, we recieved an email from U-Haul stating they would be refunding the money. Today, July 6th, 2021, we recieved a reimbursement check from Maria Palmisano, senior field support representative of U-Haul based out of the Phoenix Arizona corporate office. The attorney generals office, the Better Business bureau, the FTC and U-haul all proved through their investigstions that our complaint was quite valid and that Christopher Marshell Is guilty of Illegally modifying peoples contracts and they have assured us they will be working on pulling his rights to use U-Haul for his franchise given that he committed a class A felony crime of fraud, misdemeanor offence of petty larceny and smearing U-Hauls Good reputation with his actions. Christopher Marshell is as dishonest and crooked as the day is long. He also used several choice racial slurrs towards myself. Do not trust Christopher Marshell and Do not use this location for your family's financial safety.
Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Jun 3, 2021Previous reviewMe and my wife moved here from out of state. We rented our truck for the flat rate 1 way fee. We paid 601 for our truck including safe movers insurance and environmental fees and truck tax. We were scheduled to return our truck on May 19th at 10:00am to 2020 West state street in downtown Milwaukee WI. We turned it in free which is the uhaul promise. The same day I got a call from uhaul telling us we owed 227.88 from the uhaul location at 2020 West state street. I contacted the Phoenix Arizona corporate headquarters to inquire about this and was informed that U-Haul franchise guy Christopher Marshel illegally modified my contract to allot extra days so that he could collect on those days. But uhauls own policy is that there is no extra charge for a flat rate 1 way nor for sales tax for storing a truck. We spoke to Corporate Headquarters Manager over sales and reservations and she's assisting us with getting into contact with the corporate Executive marketing president to over turn these illegal charges. We are seeking to have him stripped of his franchise for committing petty larceny and fraud using U-Hauls good name and reputation. Today Christoper Marshel posted to my financial institution a charge for 257.88 he's charging an extra 30.00 late fee on top of his already illegally charged amount. Please Milwaukee, stay away from this guy! He's as crooked as the day is long. Don't be Christopher Marshels next victim

I was hesitant at first when I looked at the reviews from awhile ago, however they must have made improvements because my experience was smooth. The check-in and drop off were efficient and the customer service was great! The condition of the vehicle was greatI would use them again!

ZERO STARS! Horrible experience. They hadn't cleaned or checked the truck when I picked it up. It had trash in it, the tires needed air, there was ice on the floor of the truck that you couldn't see & I fell because no one warned me. They didn't give me the dollies that I had already paid for & I had to call three times before they would credit me. Their solution to my fall was to provide me the phone number of their insurance company Wasted time & money & they wouldn't budge on any compensation for the poor experience. They changed my drop off location after I booked & didn't notify me.

I needed an extension for the truck given complications moving in. I got an extension through corporate's customer service. The rep said the extension would be $94, a $30 increase in fees that were originally $62. She told me that the extension would mean being charged for 2 days. I was told I could bring the truck back by 7:30 AM without incurring additional fees.
Everything I was told was an absolute lie. I was charged $94 in addition to the $64 I was charged at the initial check in. I brought the truck back 5:30 on Saturday (14 hours before it was due back), and I was charged for after hour returns. I was also charged for 3 days as a penalty for extending my rental which I was not educated on over the phone. U-Haul is either shady in business practices or their employees are not properly trained to give exemplary customer service.
When I talked to Vince, the manager, he claimed there was nothing he could do despite customer service telling me the wrong information. I got the impression he just didn't want to do anything more than being unable to help. There was no empathy whatsoever about my situation or dissatisfaction. This company by far has the worst customer service.
I will never use U-Haul again nor will I recommend this company to anyone else for moving.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lisa B.Milwaukee, WI551975Sep 6, 2012First to Review
We needed to move a couch that was too big for our Subaru. We decided to use U-Haul. We needed to pick something up from the airport area and bring it to the Tosa area. This location was the closest/made most sense.
I was happy that on the last day of the month, there was something available for us to rent, however the individual there wasn't very clear in describing things. After some confusion, we learned we could basically rent any size we wanted to, and we took care of the paperwork.
No one told us we couldn't park in the parking lot, until of course someone came running after us on our way to the vehicle we rented and rudely said, "You did park on the street, right?"
WRONG. Because no one freaking told us at the counter.
I think that their in-city prices are a bit hefty, but that is just me.
And not that this has anything to do with U-Haul, but when we parked on the street, we returned to see that some one stole our 2013 registration sticker off the car.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Megan L.Columbia, MO8756Jul 16, 2018
My husband and I rented a truck and a car hauler for our out of state move a few weeks ago. This isn't the location that we originally chose but we had to come here instead since they had the size of truck we needed. Upon arriving, my husband wasn't greeted by anyone, had to walk up and ask for help and tell them we had a reservation. Jerrick was the person that "helped" him, and I say help VERY loosely as he did absolutely nothing. He tells him" your truck is in the alley", and that was it. My husband had to approach him to ask where the keys were and what we needed to do to set up the car hauler and he didn't have any help to give. We get everything moved into the truck from our house and the car loaded on the hauler per in the instructions we had to seek out, and a few hours into our trip we stop for coffee. We go back to make sure everything is okay, and discover that the hauler has torn the front end of my car! We immediately remove the car and I ended up driving the car the rest of the way because I didn't want any more damage caused.
We immediately call U-haul but they were closed, so my husband tried again the next day. He contacted this location and was told "it's not our problem, so there's nothing they're going to do about it". We then have to reach out to the main office and then file an insurance claim. Mind you, Jerrick DID NOT have my husband sign any of the paperwork required stating that we were at fault if there was any damage to their property or our own. We provided them with all of the un-signed paperwork and pictures of the damage, and what do you know, they're leaving us responsible for the damage. I feel this could have 100% been avoided if the employees at this location checked their equipment prior to their customers taking it, and actually did their job and assisting them.
We have rented from U-haul multiple times and have never had such an awful experience. I will absolutely never recommend this location to anyone due to the terrible and lazy customer service we dealt with. So, on top of already overpaying for the rental, I now get to pay to have my car fixed. Thanks U-haul!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dmitry B.Milwaukee, WI021Mar 24, 2013
I needed to ship my flat screen TV so I called them and asked what the price would be to buy a box, the guy told me it is 90 DOLLARS!!! Let me repeat that...90 DOLLARS for a BOX.
I decided to browse on Amazon for a few minutes and found one for 20 dollars.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
