Would give zero stars if possible bailed last minute than thought they could do the other easier half of the job. Hire someone reliable

Used these guys to move houses and found them to be great. They were pretty careful with our belongings, very motivated and moved quickly through the move and drove safely to our new home.
We had a piano so that changed it to 3 men and a truck, but they were just that much quicker with the extra hands. The guys had a great sense of humor and really were a joy to work with.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mimi B.Portland, OR016Oct 5, 2017
Don't waste your time with these clowns. I called and was told I reserved movers but a business agent would be calling because it is an office I am moving. The BA never called so I called again, 11 days later. I was told I was in the computer but had nothing reserved and that the person would "try" to have someone call me, as she could not schedule me because it is an office. I called again and was told I was not in their system, and they don't do Vancouver, WA, but have a place in Woodland that would. I then was called by a fourth individual who did see me in their system but said I would have to pay travel time and mileage for their movers to come from Woodland to Vancouver. Oh boy. A big waste of my time indeed.

We hired these guys after getting other quotes of $30-40 higher per hour from a "competitor" company. I use that term loosely as I really felt the "other" company was trying to discourage us from moving on the weekend and pushing the move off until the next week. Two Men were more than happy to accommodate our move on our terms.
Not only did we get two guys, we were fortunate enough to have a third trainee at no extra cost. I can't praise these guys enough...they worked their butts off, had an awesome attitude, and we're super fast and efficient. They very carefully packed all of our belongings on the truck taking all precautions with blankets and pads.
Not only did they efficiently unload the truck at our new multilevel home, but assisted us in unloading our U-haul that we drove cross-country...again, never a complaint, nothing but the best "can do" attitude from all these guys.
All said and done, they billed us 3 hours even start to finish. We highly recommend Two Men and a Truck for the Portland/Beaverton area local moves. Thanks Two Men and a Truck!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Patrick M.Lake Oswego, OR05Jun 18, 2014
My experience with Two Men and a Truck in Portland wasn't all that impressive. The billed hours ended up being double the quoted hours. I had informed them of possible issues with stairs and driveway access, which was supposed to be taken into account in the quote. They were going to scout out the driveway prior to the move, and that apparently didn't happen, as they were surprised to find that they couldn't back their large truck into my driveway. They said that we had more boxes than they had planned on, but many of those were in our garage ready to go, and many of them were similarly going into the garage of the new house.
The movers were friendly, but they didn't seem to be motivated to get the move done quickly (after the lunch break, at which point their supervisor left). I ended up rolling up my sleeves and taking part in the move, in an effort to speed things up and contain costs. It still came in at 11 hours (with three movers) for a 3 bedroom house, moving a couple blocks away. I feel that this was about 3 hours more than it should have been, even allowing for the driveway issue and additional boxes in the garage. I had discussions with their management after the move and we negotiated a small discount, but I believe that the number of billed hours was still higher than it should have been.
I'll need to go back and patch up the sheetrock where they knocked the paint off the walls. But it could have been worse, and that stuff happens with most moves.
On the plus side, if you have an easy move, like just unloading a truck for a few hours, these guys might still be worth hiring. They did a better job early in the move, when they were fresh. And I will say, they did a good job of wrapping the furniture, I didn't see any noteworthy issues with furniture dings.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Harra P.Portland, OR051May 26, 2016
Office staff not the greatest of communicators, BUT... the move went very well. A bit more than what I wanted to spend, but worth it! I would definitely use Two Men and a Truck again!

I spent 30 minutes on the phone working on getting movers set up for a move. After that call I received a call from someone at the Portland office stating they needed three men to move my ONE BEDROOM apt with EVERYTHING PACKED and only minimal furniture. I, AS THE CUSTOMER, stated I only wanted two men, that I would be helping and their company in Everett, WA moved my son's apartment, WITH MORE STUFF IN IT THAN MINE, in 3hrs and 15 minutes, two staircases on both apartments. My move is an apartment WITH an elevator and most of the items going on the first floor in the garage at our home. They REFUSED TO DO THE MOVE. THEY ACTUALLY REFUSED the work based on THE CUSTOMER REQUEST. I would not recommend them NOR would I use them EVER AGAIN.

Hello David,
Firstly, I would like to apologize that our availability did not align with the time frame you had in mind for your move. We create our move estimates based on the GPS calculated drive time between our customers' addresses, as well as the furniture and belongings our customers would like to move. The estimate we had come up with for your move came out to approximately 5.5 hours with two men. Unfortunately, the only crew left available for the day you were looking to move had a move in the morning slated to last bout 3.5 hours. If everything were to go perfectly, this would give our movers a 9 hour day, which would extend longer were they to get stuck in traffic, etc. Per Department of Transportation regulations, drivers and movers can work a maximum of 11 hours per day, and we prefer not to approach that time limit, as to keep our workers refreshed and energetic for all of our customers.
I recommended putting a third man on your move to cut the move time down to 3.5 hours, allowing our workers to be as fresh as possible for your move, while allowing some time to deal with unplanned traffic, extra items to be moved, etc. Additionally, the projected difference in move times with a third man added would have saved you approximately $40 off of your final bill. Please do not take my recommendation as a cost-cutting measure on our end. We sought only to save you time and money, while being able to fit you in our schedule. Again, I am sorry that our availability did not coincide. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call us at (503) 894-9923, or to send us an email at info0367@twomen.com.
Sincerely,
Dave - Laura G.Portland, OR412Jan 21, 2017
Had a property fire. Where a rental unit below was flooded. Contacted this company to move one of my resident to another apartment witin the community. I was very specific that we were moving an entire 1000 foot apartment. 2 men in a small van showed up and told distressed resident they were only moving a bed and a couch. When I told them they were wrong that's not what I ordered and I have the receipt. Jonathan stated they would have to go back to Portland from Vancouver and it could take several hours. There was no interest in doing this. I ended up hiring another company and asking for my $100 deposit back to be told no because there was no opportunity to fix it. Jonathan had no interest in going back. They acknowledged their mistake but not refund. Was it really worth $100 for this review. I have many residents moving in and out. Will not refer this company ever.

Moved again on Jan 30th, 2016. Another great experience. The guys completed 2hrs early saving us money. The movers are very professional and took care of our furniture. Would use again but hopefully we won't be moving for a while

One of the main reasons we chose Two Men and a Truck is because the guys that actually show up to do the move are real employees of the company. Fully background checked, screened and trained. I felt very comfortable with them handling our valuables and property. They were extremely polite and made sure all of our furniture was properly wrapped and protected. They also finished the move ahead of schedule! I would definitely use them again and recommend!

Great value, great service. I usually rent my own truck, but they included a truck in their reasonable rates. Robert and Ben came with a great attitude, worked hard, and we got it all done in an hour less than the estimate. They handled my stuff with great care and skill. I was very pleased to have worked with 2 Men and a Truck.
