This restaurant is tucked away so it's easy to forget that it's there but that would be a mistake. This spot is delicious.

We started with the lavash bread and the yogurt dip and I could make a meal just on that alone. It is sooo good! I had the chicken kebab which was perfectly season and cooked. The rice and salad that accompanied my kebabs were also great. Service was nice and friendly. Their menu is huge and there's a lot of other dishes I'd like to give a try.

Pleasantly surprised by this place, that I've had bookmarks for quite some time. We decided to head over to the area of Altamonte Springs in order to do some shopping on that side of town. I looked through my bookmarks to see what was the closest distance to me and this place popped up.

We decided to head on over and made a quick u-turn and were only 4 minutes away. The parking lot is a little bit tight with some angled spots, and if you can't find some spots up front, be sure to just head out around the back where there's a gravel parking lot with extra space. Head in the front doors and you'll see that they have lots of seating, both booths and tables. We were greeted right away by the hostess and sat down and a sizable booth that allowed us to fit our carrier inside too.

The menu was extensive and had lots of different options. Be sure to note that on the weekends, at lunch time, you will be given the dinner options as they do not offer lunch during the weekends. I decided to go with the gyro and you can choose to change up your side of rice for fries or a salad, but I stuck with the rice. We also decided to go with an appetizer of the hummus and some of the bread.

The hummus and bread came out really quickly and was a great starter since we were super hungry. The hummus was obviously made fresh and tasted really good. I love Turkish style bread that's always fresh served from the oven and has a great flavor. Our main meals came out not too long after and the gyro plate was very large. It was definitely a good-sized portion and matched up with the pricing on the menu. The gyro meat was really good the tzatziki sauce was a great compliment and the rice was perfectly flavored to compliment everything.

The waitress popped over a couple more times to make sure that everything was okay. We didn't need anything else during our meal and we opted not to get dessert since we needed to head out to get our shopping done. They did have some good looking dessert options like baklava though if you're interested and getting a dessert when you head there.

      Overall: A
I highly recommend the hummus and the gyro. Staff was crazy nice. Be sure to note that there's extra parking around the back if you can't find a spot in the front.

3.5 stars for delicious Turkish dishes, great service, but a tad expensive.

Ever since my favorite Turkish place closed, I've been looking for a replacement. I've been turned on to Turkish Bar and Grill and their food does not disappoint. They have all the delicious grilled meats cooked and seasoned perfectly. I would recommend any of the adanas which are seasoned ground meat cooked on a skewer. I'm always partial to the lamb variety and these guys nail all the flavors and textures that I crave. Order a side of lavas bread and hummus to share. And definitely get the kunefe. It's crunchy, sweet, gooey, and cheesy! I've never had this before but it's flavors remind me of brie and honey on toast.

The atmosphere was great with videos of Turkish food and vacation spots playing. There looks to be a setup where a band could play. And many of their dishes and serving ware were all designs taken from Turkish culture.

Overall great food. I had hoped they offer smaller portions or lunch items for the budget conscious customer. Most of their dishes push to the $20 price bracket.A simple gyro wrap and fries would've been good to add to the menu. And for a bar, their selections of spirits and drinks were pretty simple. But their food does not disappoint!

Stopped by after work for a quick dinner. Parking was easy. The place was not busy, but started to fill up as we sat and ate.
The waitress was quick to say hello and bring waters. She was the only one there. So as it got busier, she was running behind more.
We finally ordered some appetizers - the lavash bread, the hummus and babaghanoush combo, and the falafel. All were very good. The falafel was a strange shape, not a ball form like I'm used to. The sauce it came with was delicious.
We were hard pressed to get any refills on our waters. When the waitress me by, we orders our dinners. Okra and lamb. Both were very good. I was surprised how tasty their side of rice was! I ate more than I should hahaha. And the cabbage salad was delicious. Perfectly dressed.
We took our leftovers to go.
Overall, I'd say the food is worth coming here. But the place is kind of a dump and the service is kind and polite but slow. Some of their menu items were sold out, which is too bad because I wanted to Order the stuffed pepper. And their bathrooms are terrible. I was a little scared and wished for hand sanitizer when I walked out of the bathroom.
If I come back, it'll be for Turkish coffee and food to go.

Great spot for real Turkish cuisines. Located near right off exit 92 of I-4 it's tucked on Douglas Ave near walking distance to four major hotels. It unique stand out from both outside design and interior. The outside has parking stalls, with huge sign of the place, and building design dark red Turkish design. Inside offers big flat screen TV display showcasing Turkish life and culture. The design of tables and art had sense of transporting to the county.

Menu was very clear and descriptive on ingredients and Turkish cuisines. My wife had Lahmcun which flatbread with ground meat. I enjoyed lamb dish with rice and red cabbage salad. Desert we had kunefe which crispy and pistachio crumble toppings. The food was delicious and more than enough for two people to share.

My only concern is they they only have dinner menu prices and no lunch special. Which my assumption is more sit down and not grab and go lunch. However if you want sit down, authentic Turkish cuisines a very delicious introduction is this place.

Listen. This is authentic Turkish food. I mean, I've never been to Turkey, but in MY mind, this is what authentic Turkish food tastes like.

Now, before I even get to the food, I will warn you that the prices might have you giving this place a meeean side eye. I've never paid $21.00 for a gyro. & I thought my friend was gonna up & leave when he saw that the simple kebab he wanted was $19.99. But we stayed. We ordered. We were pleasantly surprised.

Flavor, flavor, FLAVOR! My goodness, I don't know what they marinate their meats with or for how long, but they've mastered it. I think that day was the first time I've ever had food envy when dining out with someone. Although my gyro was stacked high with perfectly seasoned beef & lamb (the meat was a weee bit dry), I NEEDED his chicken kebab. Like, I couldn't understand why it was so good. Thankfully, he was gracious enough to share a little more than he had planned to. Even the lettuce on the side was bursting with flavor. HOW Turkish Bar & Grill?

Just go here, people. Just go.

I don't know why it's taken me so long to come check this place out. From the outside you can't tell if they're open or in business, but they are definitely in business!

Came on a Saturday, and it wasn't too too busy. Our waiter/hostess was super nice, friendly and informative. She gave us great suggestions as to what to order and I'm glad we took her suggestions cause the food was so good!

For an appetizer we had the Lava Bread with Hummus. Definitely order the Lava Bread. It's soooo good and freshly made. The hummus was also good. As for my entree I had the chicken shish kebab that came with rice and a salad, and a slice of the Lava Bread. I definitely finished my plate. It was so flavorful and the salad balanced out all the seasonings of the chicken. As for dessert, you HAVE, HAVE, HAVE to order the Kunefe. I honestly like it better than Baklava, but of course it's different than that, but the Kunefe was not as sweet as the Baklava but it had just enough sweetness to it. I'm actually craving that dessert right now, it's soooo good!

Highly recommend coming and eating here!

My friend wanted to go to Bosphorous in Winter Park. I insisted that based on the reviews, we needed to visit Turkish Bar & Grill. In the end, none of us were as happy as we normally are when we visit Bosphorous. Some say the prices here are better than Bosphorous. However, at dinner, I felt the value was similar.

The good: Extremely helpful and honest people work here. They are five stars in my book. The portions were great.

The bad: The food tasted bland to all of us. There wasn't enough flavor for us. Honestly, that's likely what the majority of people like.

If you don't like much spice in your food, I recommend coming here. The staff makes this place worth the visit. I won't be visiting again, but I hope they add some more kick to their food in the future.

Mother's day was our first visit. We've passed the door many times and had been wanting to try the restaurant. Looking online the reviews were outstanding, so we we had high hopes. Unfortunately the experience didn't live up to expectations.

Upon arrive we informed the welcome staff we had a reservation. They couldn't find it and told us they had had problems with OpenTable. Nevertheless they could seat us. After being seated we waited more than 10 minutes before anyone came to take drinks orders. Everything went downhill from there. The main course came out in drips and drabs. It was 20 between the first and last main course coming out (for a part of four) - this just isn't acceptable, it ruined the meal. We were offered a free dessert to compensate.

I have to say the food was excellent - really tasty. Although I would say you're paying top price for Turkish food. For a party of four (two adults and two teenagers), with two alcoholic drinks, a shared lavas and hummas starter we paid $127 plus tip. The food quality warranted the price, the service and ambiance didn't.

We'll wait a while before trying this place again. Maybe it was a off night.

If food quality were the only measure by which a restaurant could be judged, I would be writing a different review. We went to Turkish Bar & Grill on a Saturday night around 9PM. There was a talented performer singing along to some tracks. Although the outside appeared inviting with the unmistakable Arabic-arched windows, the interior decoration had a strange use of space that seemed all too empty.

Our waitress advised us that the Lavash bread was superior to the other bread they offer, so we ordered two since we would be getting hummus, babaganoush, salad, tabouleh, and sautéed eggplant. For three people, however, two breads was far too much. That being said, all the appetizers we ordered were outstandingly good with the exception of the baked hummus - which definitely could've benefitted from more garlic. The bread was hot, fluffy, and substantial. Everyone was a fan, including my 9yr old carb-loving niece. It was also still great the next day.

We ordered two pides (pizza-like breads) and a Bronzino fish entree platter. The initial appetizers had taken a bit too long to begin with so when they brought out the pides and shyly asked "do you still want the fish?", an alarm should've gone off. The pides themselves were fine, the dough being excellent, however, the wait for the fish was interminable.

Clearly, something had gone wrong with the preparation, yet they did not wish to admit it nor make us any more comfortable despite their faux pas. It was nearly 11pm when the grilled fish came out...we were already satisfied, but still picked at the meal either way. The Bronzino was well prepared and very fresh, we asked for lemon to enhance it. The salad it came with was also very good, but we barely touched it because honestly, too much time had passed and the moment for dining was gone. The restaurant was empty and we could hear the staff loudly whining down in Turkish.

They were hardly apologetic about the manner in which they delivered us this fish, although the waitress had a countenance of embarrassment. At the end of it, we asked for the free desert that comes with check in on Yelp. They had run out of the rice pudding and brought out some other milk pudding desert that was unremarkable. I had hoped to try the baklava and a couple of other deserts, but seeing as it was passed 11pm, We had to just get out of there already.

Of course, there was no reparation between customer and restaurant. No reduced price or free item. It appears that they are not doing well enough to even attempt to apologize for what was ultimately and unpleasant experience, despite the food having been well prepared. So, at the end of the day, they have the brains (cuisine) but not the beauty (attitude/personality) and we all want both. If they change their customer service, then they could be potentially a fine establishment.
