I've never been one to write a bad review, but as a member of a community non-profit board, it's essential that they acknowledge errors and take responsibility for their mistakes or, at the very least, offer a one-time forgiveness policy. It's disheartening to witness that even a long-serving employee isn't trusted with a simple one-time error forgiveness.

Here's what happened: I recently moved to a new home, and I wasn't receiving any mail. I thought I had enrolled in autopay, and my first notification of being late came on the same day as a notice of possible termination. I promptly paid the bill in full, including the current month. However, just a few hours after making the payment, they disconnected my water service. I understand that I was late, but this was my first notification, and it was unfortunate that this happened. When I spoke to their representative to request the reconnection of my water, their service team was great and acted promptly. However, dealing with Donna, the manager, was a frustrating experience. She seemed to disregard the importance of customer satisfaction, and this is the kind of behavior that arises when a company becomes a monopoly, forgetting the significance of their customers. It's no wonder they have amassed over 100 negative reviews.

*service team is awsome ... staff inside

We pay our bill on auto pay every month, with out fail. Apparently there was issue this month and the cc auto pay didn't go through. No notice, by mail, by phone , nothing. Apparently the bill was due only 4 days ago and of course didn't realize there was issue ..and they shut off my water at 3:00 in the afternoon!!! I immediately called and paid the bill , and they "might " get it back on by 6:30 tonight , if not , they have until 6:30 tomorrow!! There is no one I can speak to , no one knows what the chances are to have it turned back on today .... that is the worst customer service I have ever witnessed. Zero notifications... We obviously have no problem paying our bill as it is auto deducted monthly! I have seen multiple reviews with the lack of communication and shutting off an entire family's water supply... This should come with great notification and plenty of time to deal before the water is shut off !!

This company is garbage. Shut off our water because another neighbor said our sprinklers were flooding their yard, when in fact it was a house behind us. They didn't knock and said they called, but no voicemail. Knock on the physical address before you shut someone's water off. They said it's their policy to call, well leave a message then and knock on the door. There are houses behind us overwatering and you can see on their sidewalks, so maybe do a little research.

I just got my water shut off. I call and ask I guess I put the numbers wrong, well they don't notify me at all but said they did. Also they said got the return yesterday well okay I paid it the 9th and where is the 48 hour notice? So I asked for a supervisor they all back and won't even answer my question the customer service is unprofessional, rude, and plain disgusting. I then asked for the next person up and the lady straight said no. How can humans be so disrespectful and not care or be helpful when it's their job? It's sad to me.

      It's a love hate relationship..

During the summer they left a door hanger, reminding of the watering schedule ..which we do abide by.. so why the hanger?...

Of course the summer invoice is over $200 due to making sure all of the new trees and plants are well nourished..

Loving the water bill for Dec. 2022- $29.29!

      Love the invoice!

I pay my bill each month and it's exasperating by $200 plus ask him if they would come out and shut my water off at the meter well they won't do that unless like they have money in hand, The valve at the meter it's froze otherwise I would turn it off myself but I lost this 83 old guy will not get his water shut off so he can put a shut off valve and in the house, so they only won $25 to come out but then I want $25 more to come and turn it back on, so I lash out I would just sit here and whine to myself it will not do any good if you're watching this you know what's happening

Terrible Customer Service! TMWA needs to have
inservice training on how to treat their clients. I have never been talked to so rudely and with such a lack of compassion by any service provider! Attitudes are cold and abrupt..they know they are the only game in town so it obviously doesn't matter how they treat their clients! It's sad...

Very sad..I have reported broken sprinklers at the verge apartments for over a month. The parking lot gets the benefit of the water waste. Some one actually came out 3 weeks ago and placed a red flag..big deal! It's really shameful

When the well's dry, we know desperately the worth of water. I've been a customer of Truckee Meadows Water Authority since it began. Truckee Meadows Water Authority (TMWA) was created by a cooperative agreement between Reno, Sparks and Washoe County. It began operation in June 2001. So far, the wells of Truckee Meadows Water Authority have never run dry.

When life places stones in your path, be the water. A persistent drop of water will wear away even the hardest stone. Unfortunately, like far too many businesses, Truckee Meadows Water Authority does NOT have a Military Discount for the rare 1/2% of 1% of the population who are Active Duty, or a Veterans Discount for the rare 7% of the population who are Veterans. I would've rated 'em higher if they had a Military and Veterans Discount. I say to businesses and their owners. Like your Freedom? Then thank Active Duty and Veterans for it with a publicly disclosed Veterans and Military Discount every day.

Nothing is a greater stranger to my breast, or a sin that my soul more abhors, than that black and detestable one, ingratitude. - George Washington, Commander-in-Chief during American War for Independence, and 1st US President

Having an Active Duty and Veterans Discount is clearly an easy and inexpensive way, and a Patriot way, for any business to create a positive impression of the business among people in and outside of the Military Community. Over and over 95% of current and past Military Personnel and their families say that they notice when companies are "Military-Friendly" and that an Active Duty and Veteran Discount is what gives an immediate and positive first and lasting impression to any business. That also means 95% of current and past Military Personnel and their families notice when companies are NOT "Military-Friendly" and when companies DON'T have an Active Duty and Veteran Discount and that gives an immediate and negative first and lasting impression to any business.

Unlike far too many other businesses:

Their customer service has always been adequate with me.

Their website is reasonably user friendly for me. It has a lot of information I find useful as I review it once a month.

Water Emergency Information is at https://tmwa.com/article/water-emergency-information/

Water Rules and Rates are at https://tmwa.com/article/water-rules-and-rates/

They have a well-written monthly newsletter at https://tmwa.com/quality-delivered-newsletter/

Water Backflow Prevention is at https://tmwa.com/article/backflow-prevention/

Now that I switched to receiving their bills via email, I get their bills timely,

They always send me an email to let me know when they have successfully processed my payment. That is a professional touch that I wish all business did.

When I have a credit balance I still get a bill with the amount debited and the remaining credit balance on it - unlike Charter aka Spectrum https://www.yelp.com/biz/spectrum-carson-city-2 , which is who our public representatives have given that monopoly franchise to.

They properly credit my payments, have never misapplied my payment, unlike Waste Management https://www.yelp.com/biz/waste-management-reno-2?osq=waste+management , which is who our public representatives have given that monopoly franchise to.

Their tours of their facilities are free, useful and informative. https://tmwa.com/meeting/

They are quick and professional about addressing water waste which they rely upon the eyes of the community to help them by reporting it. https://tmwa.com/article/report-water-waste-in-your-community/

here in reno nevada, everyone has been called to save water. we are in a dire situation here in reno. bit for 3 1/2 years i have been complaining of the horribly excessive watering by southridge apartments. they water everyday for hours at a time several times a day. they over water so much that all lawn areas there are muddy, full of standing water and at times even stinks! i recently broke my foot slipping in this mud trying to pick up after my dog!
now many of us residents have called and we have been told they are aware of southridges heinous and grievous water waste but in 3 1/2 years truckee meadows water authority has allowed this behavior and done nothing! i feel that that utility is corrupt and needs ti be investigated immediately!
