If I could give Mei 6 stars, I totally would. Mei made me so beautiful for my birthday party! I told her that I had planned on doing quite a bit of dancing and she made my hair so that it held up to all my bouncing around throughout the evening. I received so many compliments on my look from my guests.

Mei was also very helpful. She gave me a handful of bobby pins along with some tips on maintaining my look in case part of my updo started to sag. I've only had to use one when a small section of my hair above my right ear came a bit loose, but that was all during the span of my 6 hour party. Mei also gave me a powder puff with some powder on it in case I needed to touch up my makeup throughout the evening. I have never had to use it because she did my makeup so well the first time around.

From inquiring about her availability to sitting on her makeup chair watching her do her thing to the final look, the whole process was smooth and delightful. I would definitely call on Mei again!

It's been 5 years since I got my hair and makeup done by Mei for my wedding. I look back at that day with such fond memories because of her professionalism and kindness. I don't wear makeup so I expressed to her that I wanted a more natural look and she knew exactly what to do. She made me feel so beautiful at my wedding but still made me look like me. Our pictures at SF city hall and the Palace of Fine Artts turned out so great and it's because of what she did for me that day. I'm so thankful she was there for me through what could have been a very stressful experience.

Mei is an expert. She did my wedding hair and makeup. I had a trial done with another makeup artist, and I didn't look like myself. So I jumped ship and hired Mei instead. Mei makes you look like an enhanced version of yourself. She did my hair way better than the photos I showed her. I also requested some changes from the trial, and she listened and did them. I felt so beautiful on my wedding day! Mei really knows what she's doing, but don't be afraid to say what you like. She can't read your mind! She was also very easy and relaxing to talk to on the hectic wedding day. My makeup stayed on the whole night! My hair also still looked so good even after the wind during the outdoor ceremony.

And finally, her husband Robert was also great to work with. He does the business side of things, and he was extremely responsive to all emails and questions. They both arrived on site early and ready to go at the scheduled time. Both are professionals! If you are hesitating about hiring Mei because of the price, I suggest you splurge. She's worth every penny. Don't make the mistake I did and spend money on another trial with a less-skilled artist. Thanks Mei for making me feel absolutely beautiful on my wedding day!

I tried makeup from 3 artists, and Mei at Triple Twist way my favorite by a wide margin. She really listened to my preferences (don't go bold on the eyebrow) and put a lot of effort into perfecting the look, including blending foundations to match my fair and hard to match complexion. She did the makeup for the bridal party and the moms and everyone looked stunning. I was particularly impressed with the work on both moms, it was so tasteful, elegant, stately...we told my mom she looked like Madame President. It also lasted super well, on both the wedding and photoshoot days. The setup she brings to the hotel room is nice and makes for great photos, and it's really easy to work with her and her husband (he runs the business side) by email and their contracts are well organized and straight forward. The SF location is easy to get to for your trial, or if you are a City Hall bride then she would be so convenient. Absolutely recommend!

Mei and her team were absolutely incredible. They did hair, makeup, and fake eyelashes for myself (the bride) and 6 others (3 bridesmaids, a sister, and 2 moms). They arrived early, were quick to set up, and finished on time. They were also super flexible, making adjustments even after someone was finished because she changed her mind about something. They were great, doing everything to make sure we were happy and confident with how we looked.

For myself, I had done a trial with Mei and she followed the photos I'd shown her great. A few weeks before the wedding, I changed my mind about the makeup and Mei easily adapted for the day of. I absolutely loved my look and felt so beautiful :)

I also loved how natural my and my bridal party's makeup looked. It all felt super light and lasted the whole night, no smudges or rubbing off on things! Everyone looked stunning and still like themselves!

Mei at Triple Twist delivered on exactly what I wanted for my wedding day: to look like myself, but enhanced. My bridesmaids actually both said, "You look beautiful, but you still look like *you*!" It was the highest compliment. I don't wear much makeup at all usually, so I didn't want a heavy style or false eyelashes. Mei was fantastic with giving me a natural look that still felt glamorous.

She was also just super kind and fun to talk with as she worked. (Fun fact: she originally learned makeup from Cirque du Soleil and is a former acrobat. So rad.) And she's very with it on COVID safety, with an isolated studio, good ventilation, a mask, and up-to-date everything.

Robert, her husband, who manages the business side, was a delight to communicate with, extremely fast and responsive to questions.

I was rather indecisive on my hair, which I'm sure was not easy to work with. Mei was super, and tuned in to what made me feel good hair-wise at the trial. Originally I was thinking of an up style. I wasn't totally loving the direction and she just read my face and suggested we take it down. I felt so much more *me* with fully down waves and couldn't stop smiling. On the morning of the wedding at 8am sharp, I came to her studio and she did the waves we'd decided on. I did make one adjustment to my hairclip placement with my mom afterward, the one component we hadn't trialed (Mei had done what I asked, but I ended up not being a fan). After the adjustment, which took all of five minutes, it was perfection :) The waves stayed in super nicely all day and I was so grateful that Mei had worked with me patiently to find my best-fit style.

The makeup looked amazing and absolutely delivered through a very long day! We were outdoors all day, and at times in direct sun, so the makeup's UV protection was also very helpful. The mascara held up through some tearing up. Nothing came off, even after eating... the long-wear lipstick was some unholy near-permanent thing that is used by pros. Because I was nervous about it coming off for later photos, they gave me the name of the lipstick and I bought myself a backup in the same shade. It was $42 and I didn't even have to use it :) Everything took about 5 makeup remover cloths to remove in the evening, hahaha! It won't come off until you want it to...

Here is a story: I am a photographer unfortunate enough to be robbed while preparing to drive off from a photo session in San Francisco. Without going into too much of a drama of equipment loss, one thing that was unfortunate is the loss of a card with a photo session.

I started to plan a reshoot with the couple and contacted some make-up artists to see how I could help with the situation. Some people reached back to me offering discounts, but Mei and Robert offered to help for free. They understood the loss of expensive equipment. Being small business owners in San Francisco, they wanted to help.

Mei did my and my mom's hair & makeup for my wedding, and we were both so incredibly happy with her work! Mei is very talented and really takes the time to hear you and understand your vision. She is extremely kind and makes you feel at ease and confident on your big day. She's friendly, welcoming, professional, and pays attention to the details. Robert is highly helpful, professional, and wonderful to work with, as well. My mom and I were both so happy with our looks and owe it all to Mei! I highly recommend her for your wedding or any other important events you want to look and feel your best at!

My bridesmaids and I were so happy with the hair and makeup service we received from Mei and Yoong! I don't wear much makeup on a daily basis and I debated even having my makeup done because I felt concerned about not looking like myself in wedding pictures. Triple Twist was recommended to me by a friend who felt the same way and had hired them for her wedding with good results. I was not disappointed.

Not only did Mei and Yoong do excellent work but they were lovely people to spend a morning with. Robert was also great in accommodating adjustments to the contract, first when we decided to postpone our wedding due to COVID (they booked us on a new date), again when we decided to reduce the number of people at our reception (I was credited services that were no longer needed) and again when my bridesmaids wanted to add makeup to their hair service at the last minute (which happily, used up the services I was credited).

I'm so glad I decided to have Triple Twist do hair and makeup for my wedding. They're a great option for anyone who wants to look like their best self on a special day. Highly recommend.
