Can Yelp make an exception and allow me to give this attraction ten stars? If so, I'd greatly appreciate it, and Yelp readers would read an honest review. (I seriously cannot describe how much I love this attraction, but I'll try...)

The queue for this attraction may look long, and it may state a long wait time, but it moves fairly fast. I think the wait time averages around forty five (45) minutes or so. To a child, it probably feels like forever, but to me, it doesn't feel that long.
The concept for this attraction should be applauded. It's like an attraction and a video game all rolled into one. In each row, there are two shooters (guns), but you can fit three people in a row. Sadly, one won't get a shooter - probably an adult (if there are children) or an infant. The vehicle spins and twists and turns throughout the attraction as it moves, but it does make stops at screens throughout for the video game portion. Did I mention this is in 3D? Well, it's in 3D, and you get glasses while in the queue.
While you wear your 3D glasses and are at a screen, you use your shooter to pop, toss, break, or shoot things to score points. The first screen is practice. The second, knock over cardboard cutouts in a barn scene. The third, you pop balloons in a volcano scene. The fourth, you break plates in an army scene. The fifth, you toss rings in a space scene. The sixth, you shoot darts in a western scene. From that scene, you continue shooting as you move to the last scene, which are mine trains.
They tally up your scores in the end, and you receive a "prize" based on your score. The prize is just a picture of a cartoon animal; turtle, bird, cat, beaver, etc.

Hands down... my favorite attraction in either of the parks! My highest score? 325,000. It's not the best, but I like to think it's pretty good. When I ride it, I see scores like 650,000! Crazy! I know there are tricks and secrets to it, but it's sooo difficult! Anyway, should you ride this attraction? YES! Why are you still reading this?! GOOO! :DHelpful 4Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Jaimito J.Los Angeles, CA28585567691Jan 3, 2024

**Toy Story Midway Mania - A Vibrant Celebration!**
5 Stars*****
Stepping into Toy Story Midway Mania at Pixar Pier felt like entering a world of vibrant celebration! This whimsical ride at Disney California Adventure Park truly embodies the essence of all things Toy Story. From the moment I set foot into this immersive attraction, I found myself immersed in a whirlwind of dazzling colors, playful melodies, and interactive games that magically transported me into Andy's enchanting toy box.
The journey through this experience was an absolute delight for both my kids and myself. Every corner revealed zany targets and vibrant displays that kept us captivated throughout. The fusion of technology and storytelling was seamless, delivering an exhilarating adventure that genuinely brought the Pixar magic to life.
But be warned, the creative shooting games here might leave you with some sore arms, but the fun and excitement of the experience make it totally worthwhile!
In summary, Toy Story Midway Mania is a must-visit for anyone seeking a thrilling adventure within the enchanting realm of Pixar. It perfectly captures the essence of Toy Story's charm, creating an interactive and unforgettable experience. Highly recommended for families and anyone eager to dive into the playful world of Pixar!Helpful 6Thanks 1Love this 5Oh no 0 - Dec 30, 2023Updated review1 check-in
Yup still my favorite ride.... I like to compete with my family lol.... So fun and super cute ride. I think kids of all ages and adults would enjoy this ride.
Very hands on and interactive. Try to arrive early this ride does have long lines, but worth the wait in my opinion.Helpful 5Thanks 1Love this 5Oh no 0Oct 26, 2023Previous reviewAwww what can I say.... I an competitive with the family and this is my favorite ride of all time.... Yes I always win lol.

Mr. Potato head at the Boardwalk is super fun! He moves and talks. You walk up and grab 3D glasses (or is it considered 4D these days I don't know?), and then you sit on the ride. This one reminds me of the Buzz Lightyear Astro Blaster ride. Same concept.
You are competing with the person next to you. You get a "gun" to shoot the targets. Some targets are worth more points. The object is to get the most points to beat whoever you are riding with lol I am terrible with these types of games. That could be due to never wearing my prescription glasses lol but still it is not as easy as you would think!Helpful 10Thanks 2Love this 11Oh no 0 - 3615124916566Feb 28, 20241 check-in
They kept telling me we went on this ride last time . I said no we did not. We had a gun with a trigger. So I guess there's two Toy story target rides . Another shooting game but you have to pull the cord . A major arm workout. Come to Disneyland Be happy work out and spend money!

If you are competitive be nature, then it's time to crush your friends and family at this attraction! There are several different ways to showcase your skills, and try to get a high score. The vehicle navigates itself making it easier to maneuver to focus on getting a straight shot. Don't forget your 3D glasses, and good luck!

The Toy Story Midway Mania ride at Disneyland is undeniably fun, but it does face occasional breakdowns. Despite the wait times always being long, the experience of wearing glasses and engaging in target shooting competition with the person next to you adds an extra layer of enjoyment. It's particularly great for little children, offering an interactive and entertaining adventure.

This is hubby's favorite ride. He is competitive and this ride brings out the competitiveness in him.
There is ALWAYS a line for this ride. I've waited about 45 minutes for this ride but it's worth it.
This ride is very interactive and allows you to compete with the person beside you. It moves fast as you're shooting objects carnival style. I definitely got a bit dizzy a few times. The ride does unfortunately pause from time to time, but you get to practice shooting while that happens.
Definitely a great ride but be prepared to wait for awhile if you are interested in checking it out!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Feb 9, 2023
Absolutely love this ride!! It is SO much fun. Definitely makes you a tad bit dizzy (but I get motion sick really easily). I usually take a Dramamine nowadays whenever I go to the park because a handful of rides make me sick but I love getting on them LOL. :(
This one is so much more fun with friends!! It's fun competing against them and EXHAUSTING. It is such a workout because every game consists of you pulling on the little ball attached to the string/wheel. It is super tiring and eventually you'll probably have to switch hands to get a fresh start so be ready! Games go by quick but this ride is definitely worth the 45+ minute wait. Spider-Man's Web-Slingers vs. Toy Story's Midway Mania:
Spider-Man's Web-Slingers is an upgraded version of Toy Story's 3-D, immersive arcade-style shooting game, Midway Mania. Instead of shooting with sling-shots like in Midway Mania, you shoot with the flick of your wrists, at the moving spider-bots to eject the web at your targets. While the targets in Midway Mania, are both moving and non-moving, most targets in Slingers are moving.
Slingers can be a hard ride to get on as it's fairly popular, and it's another up charge if you opt for making it one of your lightening lane selections. To avoid the additional cost, I recommend getting to the park early and making this one of the rides you line up for first, only after Radiator Spring's Racers (if that's a ride you're hoping to go on also, and also a paid lightening lane selection).
Out of the two - Slingers and Mania - slingers is my preferred if feasible - they both offer the same level of fun, but Mania always leaves my elbow tired and sore from pulling on the slingshot to shoot at targets.
Whether you go on both, or one of these, these are fun all ages.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0
