We just returned from living out of state. Tony's had been our go-to for a nice dinner. Has it changed owners? Reviews vary. Who has a current/recent opinion? Thank you!

      A:

new owners, chef, etc. It is definitely NOT the same any longer. The prices are steep and the food quality and selection have fallen.

They are terrific and location and view is beautiful. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to go out casually or romantically especially if you want to take a walk afterwards the ambience setting in view is beautiful right by the lake.

The location is fantastic! We sat at table where 2 faced the water and 2 faced fireplace. The fire was roaring and the smell it of and the sounds of the wood popping was awesome!!!

The food was a little better than OK. Half of us enjoyed our meal, the other half not so much.

I liked the bruschetta appetizer. The had some pop and flavor. The calamari was a big disappointment all around. It was tasteless and soggy.

My brother got the spinach lasagna and that is not what we consider lasagna. We grew up with ricotta and some mozzarella, lots of layers and delicious. His was green (spinach) fresh pasta and Béchamel and I believe it did have meat. He didn't like it at all. Nephew got the Pomodoro pasta and he didn't like it either. I got the eggplant piziola and rather enjoyed it. My brother liked that too. Hubs got the bolognese and he enjoyed his. It not super expensive but if you don't like your dish it kinda stinks.

Service was very good. Overall, it was very good. Some of the dishes didn't wow us though. Would definitely come back!

We are not in love with this place. Ambiance is the selling point with the lake views and the warm and clean dining area. Pine wood fireplace is very nice too on a cold fall evening.

Service is OK. Waitstaff clothes are street attire and adorned with pocket knives but, times are tough. For the sake of their own reputations though, I would recommend the staff not have full volume private subject matter conversation and drink openly at the main bar. That may be part of a "family kitchen" vibe though we don't know.

Food was 2.5 to 3 star average for us. Soup was super thick. Think marinara. We sent back after tasting. (but I paid) Appetizers were overcooked. Mains had very, very heavy cream sauce almost paste-like.

Drinks are served yourself from cans left at the table.

Also, for the sake of all things good and wholesome...traditional Italian restaurants in the USA should have at least one baked pasta dish available even if it's only Ziti.

Yes, it's a tough review but we had read so many glowing reviews that we were sad to be left with a mediocre experience.

Cost: considering inflation it was within expectations at $285 + 45 tip. Four adults with two beers and one drink. Three appetizers split between.

This place is updated and amazing! It was eclectic but now it's classy and elegant!
I've always loved this place, now I never want to leave!
They might have truly fixed this place up to be the nicest restaurant in northern Idaho, but smartly the kept the cook and the menu! We'll done!
Truly if you haven't been here in a while, it's time to check this out again!

Great food for Coeur DAlene. I would say this is top of my list. In a town with bad culinary experiences and no food culture this place shines. Love the boat up option.

In town visiting and our friends made a reservation here to celebrate a birthday.

The short review is I would come here again for drinks/appetizers or a nightcap/dessert but would find another option if I'm looking for good Italian. Our server was excellent and attentive and ambiance was great but I have mixed feelings on the food.

We ordered family style for the five of us and split the following:

      - Ricotta fritters
      - Beef carpaccio
      - Meatballs
      - Shrimp pasta
      - Gnocchi
      - Eggplant piazzaiolo
      - Bolognese
      - Panna cotta
      - Tiramisu
      - Chocolate cake

The sauces on all pastas were delicious, especially the gnocchi, but the pasta was not. The gnocchi were huge and like playdoh consistency, not light and fluffy pillows. The rest of the pastas had pappardelle noodles and they were all very gummy, definitely over cooked. Very disappointing as the sauces were great but did not enjoy any of the pastas due to consistency of noodles.

The highlights were the bread and butter to start, ricotta fritters, meatballs, eggplant piazzaiolo and desserts (tiramisu was my personal fave!) but wouldn't come back for pasta.

Was really looking forward to trying the new Tony's. Very disappointed. Food was terrible. Ordered Bruschetta. Way way too much garlic. Enough basil to make a salad, bread was soggy.
I had the chicken Marsala. Chicken was thick pieces of chicken breast that was dry and over cooked. There were more mushrooms than pasta. The sauce tasted like they dumped a bottle of Marsala wine in and called it good. My father had the pescatore. It had 4 mussels1 scallop and 2 pieces of shrimp sauce was too thick. Server was nice enough but did not give any recommendations or talk up the food. Did not pick up on the fact that no one was eating the food.... No drinks and still $250 for 4 people. Will not be back.

We happened to be coming back from paddleboarding and stopped in here thinking it was a casual beachy spot but it was more upscale and dressed up than we thought. Nevertheless, there was a table for us and so we stayed.

The food was fantastic. I had the brick chicken which was phenomenal as well as the potatoes and broccoli. The entire dish was wonderful. I tried my wife's halibut which was super as well.

The restaurant had both indoor and patio seating with lake views. The waitress was on top of things and friendly. A nice experience but a bit cold for the indoor dining room.

I loved Tony's but they removed all their raviolis. My meal was good you could really taste the noodle because they were homemade. I got a lovely drink. It was a little slow but there was also a lot of people. There is outside seating and they redid their inside! Lastly they are a little pricy but the mozzarella dish is so delicious!!!

Always great food selection and service. View can't be beat. Patio on a nice day is the way to go.
