This location always takes the time to understand your project. Explain the positives and things you need to watch out using the products. They always make sure that I have options on what tools to use for my projects. If you don't use the right products and tools your work won't be successful as you want.

I went into Tom Duffy to buy some carpet glue. The gentleman who helped me was professional and very knowledgeable about the different glues and trowels. I almost purchased the wrong material but the salesmen took the time to guide me. He was extremely patient. I highly recommend shopping here.

I was referred to Tom Duffy and was really happy with their service. I called them a number of times to ask them for advice. I was always given great advice and suggestions. I have never been rushed off the phone.

I bought some glue from them and unfortunately I had to return it because it did not work with the flooring I bought. My concrete water levels were too high according to my contractor. The staff at Tom Duffy were very kind when I returned what I bought and they were happy to exchange it for the glue I needed.

Once the project was finished, I realized I had two extra buckets of glue. I returned the glue and got a refund with no hassle.

When you are at the store, it seems like there are only two people working and you might have to wait a while to talk to someone but I find that it is because they really take the time to talk to each client. Personally, I feel like it is worth the wait. You will get the attention that you need. You just need to wait your turn.

Also.. for anyone that worries about VOCs. Tom Duffy carries no VOC glue for hardwoods. It's great for anyone with asthma or allergies.

Our contractor for the tiles recommended this place for cheap tiles. He gave us a flyer with the various Tom Duffy locations. We decided to go here before we went to Bull Nose tile. There isn't a huge selection of the ceramic tiles. It was just on a wire rack. The quality of the tiles weren't great even though the price was cheap. You can get 12" x 12" tiles for less than $1 per square feet!

This place is good for buying materials for remodeling. It's also an alternative to going to Home Depot and Lowe's.

The folks at Tom Duffy are the best. Extremely kind and helpful, and extremely knowledgeable. They helped talk me through leveling my DIY flooring project, so I bought all of my finishing products from them as well. My only regret is that I didn't buy my wood through them! Next time, Tom Duffy! Thanks for the help!

I had a hard time finding custom matched wood floor registers and had a bad experience with an online vendor. Chris at Tom Duffy was so helpful. The company Tom Duffy partners with had previously matched my floor and was able to create custom vents for me that match perfectly. So don't go online if you need your wood registers custom matched. Go to Tom Duffy!

Not impressed. I went in for a specialty product to fix laminate flooring. I had been told by two contractors that this was the place to go. First thing to know is that they close at 4:30pm on the dot. I arrived at 4:35pm and it was deserted. Went back the second day after calling to make sure they had what I wanted. They assured me they at 4 different colors that would meet my needs. When I arrived they only had one of the colors in stock.

In fairness though, this place caters to contractors. In fact they have a big sign that says certain products can only be bought through a licensed contractor. It is not a show room so don't go in looking to find lots of samples to choose from.

My suggestion is that individuals (non-contractors) stick with Home Depot and Lowe's.

I operate a tile business and have been working with this location for about three years now. Always friendly and professional service. The store is well supplied and it's at a convenient location. Above all this company is a pleasant necessity for the Bay Area construction industry. Keep up the great work TDC.
