TJ Ribs

Nothing bad to say about the place. Only been here once before. We came in right at opening and sat at the bar. New bartender was being trained and we were the only ones there so we took our time. Drink specials were great, heavy coconut options. The ribs were amazing. Fall off the bone tender and great flavor to the sauce. Sadly, this location is closing soon due to the building being sold but the other location will still be in operation. Stop in and give it a try.

In my 30 years of living, my f##### been sleeping on TJ RIBS. Today was my 1st day of trying their smoked baby back ribs and smoked wings. It was smoky, tender, juicy, and flavorful!
Catch me here next time with everything on the menu on my plate!

2 locations in Baton rouge and either one is a must-stop.
Wings are still my fave but the 2 meat plate is a stuffer and probably not the best for lunch. [Might need a nap] mmmmmm
Can't go wrong with any choice.

I was excited to see this Rib location. Unfortunately it did not meet expectations the meat was very fatty, stringy and dry see photos. The mac & cheese had an extremely high amount of salt in it. The service was terrible with only 3 tables in my area as seen in the photos. I waited extremely long for someone to come back to my table and when they finally did it was just offer up the bill of $35 for the small portion meal. The ribs also had a fishy taste to them not sure if they were cooked on the same grill or near some type of fish .

First things first...there was no one at the door to greet us and we stood there for 5 minutes with workers walking past and us and never asking if we needed assistance. There was a young lady on the pbone and never looked up.

The manager was about to walk pass us also but we stopped him to let him know we had not been served and he really didn't seem to care much.

We finally got seated. The server was really nice, a little fragile, but nice. The prices doesn't equal the food portions. We ordered fish plate and shrimp and fish plate.

I must say the fish was seasoned pretty good. The shrimp was also good. The houad dressing for tbe salad was nasty, I asked for anothed dressing, the citrus dressing was good. The bread was also good, but the honey butter was just okay.

They did wear mask and they did social distance.

Will we be back? Nope

I loved this place back in da day. NOT SO MUCH NOW!! The appetizers arrived, before our entrees, the loaded baked potato wasn't cooked & the beans were COLD!!! The manager agreed & took the appetizers off & 1/2 off our entire order. Oh, & the waitress was BAD, REALLY BAD!!!!

Great service! Great food! Great atmosphere!

Appetizer: The smoked wings were AMAZING!!!! You can get them sauced (buffalo style) or sauce in the side. Served with ranch or bleu cheese and a giant celery spear.

Entree: I chose the pick two meats. Smoked Turkey and of course Ribs!!! Enjoyed a loaded baked potato with EVERYTHING!

Fun fact... all the staff is trained to write their names upside down when introducing themselves!

I stopped in here for takeout on my way out of Baton Rouge--a request from my mom who said she wanted some of their ribs for dinner. So, we ordered the ribs plus their wings and an array of sides that we took home and later reheated.

Overall, the food was spot on. In fact, I'd say that the grilled wings were some of the best I've ever had! And they were huge. The sides were also all fantastic. I suggest the cheese grits and rice & beans. The ribs, on the other hand, were just okay for me. I prefer them falling off the bone a bit more (a bit more tender). The barbecue sauce, however, was out-of-this world tasty!

One last shout out for TJ Ribs goes out to their staff. They were all pleasant and super helpful when I went in to place my takeout order. Also, the food was prepped to go pretty quickly.

So my 1st day away for home and I was missing Texas Barbecue. Found this place and I thought I was at home for a min. It was so cool And cozy. Good cold beer and nice place. I ate here 4 times out of my 7 day to in Louisiana!
