Like many of the other recent reviewers have said, the event moved a couple years ago from Point State Park to the Cultural District. While the change affords more shops and accessibility in some ways, it feels more compact and like a shell of its former self when it was in an expansive green space that didn't have traffic running through the middle of it.
The arts and artists are as great as ever and it's super fun to walk amongst all of the other patrons, but like it said, it's kind of small and can be completely viewed in about an hour or less.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jun 13, 2021
Certainly a slimmed down version from years past. Some nice artwork found here and there - I bought 4 prints my son liked and wanted for his room.
Food vendors were, as always, hit or miss. Good gyros at one spot, ridiculously overpriced and crusty old corn dogs (7 bucks? Really???) at another.
It's still worth a walk about.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jun 11, 2022
This is the first year the arts festival has moved to the cultural district and it is a No for me. It felt like less food options, everything is crammed into a small space and the stages are filled with people during the performances. Part of the beauty of the old space was relaxing, enjoying our park in the city and spreading out in the grass to listen to entertainers. Now there is nowhere to sit because one of the stages is in the middle of the intersection. People were all up against one another, which in covid times is another issue. It doesn't have the same vibe as when it was at the point.

A hundred or more artisans in many fields. Some beautiful work in clay, wood, jewelry, paint and more. Activities for kids and food too! A really nice festival in downtown Pittsburgh.

After a return to Pittsburgh after being gone for a number of years my wife and I decided to go to the three Rivers arts festival what a huge disappointment it was from previous years. Don't waste your time going to this extremely small venue this year. This used to be a fantastic arts festival to go to and spend days. This year you can walk the entire arts festival in an hour. Food Vendors were very limited and it appeared to be mostly local artists. Kudos to them for grinding it out at this event that used to be one of the best draws to the Pittsburgh summer season. Shame on the city of Pittsburgh for changing locations from the point and trying to squeeze everybody into a one block area That is also under construction.

I so enjoy the art work while walking catching the beautiful view of Pittsburgh. This is the Pittsburgh I grew up with. Just breathe taking and the view is free. Enjoy. The Three Art Festival ends this Sunday 13th.

A nice annual arts, music, and food festival in June which runs over 2 weekends and during the week between for free admission. It is especially nice when it's a sunny day to enjoy festivities (this appears to be a quite rainy time of our year).
Food: Run-of-the-mill food booths with usual outdoor fare. TIP: Do NOT get the haluska in the Polish food line. I love this dish with noodles and cabbage but this was not anything representative of the dish. It was basically egg noodles and a tiny few bits of cabbage swimming in oil. Yech. I do wish I had tried the lobster burgers (note: they were off to the side and not in the general food booth area of Point State Park). TIP: Take your food and head to the Point State Fountain area for some shade because the picnic tables and food booths are totally devoid of any shade on a sunny day. TIP: We did find a food truck with bottled watter and soda for $1.00 each. I thought that was extremely reasonable.
Music: Many varieties, multiple stages for free.
Art: Surprisingly good selections and some very distinct high-end quality art from jewelry, pottery, wood bowls/vases, to paintings. Not limited to local artists.
Parking: Might I suggest you park in the 1st Ave garage (right off 2nd ave exit on I-376) for a flat rate of $5 on weekends and take the "T" transit for free to the Gateway station. You'll be right where you want to be and avoid congestion trying to park anywhere else.
Restrooms: Porta-potties were gross shortly after noon on Saturday, the 2nd day of this event. Seriously gross, more gross than gross of any other event I've ever been to or any selection of portable restrooms I've ever witnessed. Ever. Might I suggest the static restrooms near the Point fountain, the restrooms at the 1st Ave garage when you arrive or leave, or dining at Market Square nearby and then using their restrooms?Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 8Oh no 0 - Jun 22, 2017
The best Arts Festival there ever could be! Where do I even start..
I've been coming here for years. It always falls during my birthday and every year it is what I request to do for the day with my boyfriend and my family. Parking can be a pain, but it's Downtown- what else do you expect? Other than that, it's always a wonderful time. I'm so thankful that Pittsburgh has a festival like this. There are tons of vendors- most of them are there for a few days or even a week, and then new vendors come in. Typically, I try to make it here for both weekends, so that I can see everything from all of the vendors. This year I could only make it to one weekend, but still visited twice. Yes, a lot of the items you will find here will be expensive, but that's ok, it's still wonderful to look. I've also found a lot of great deals and it's always nice to support the artist directly, rather than paying a middle man. Some of the goodies I received this year:
A absolutely breathtaking print by Anastasia Alexandrin. $40
A beautiful rose wrap ring by Doctor Gus. $10
Pottery pieces (wish I knew the artist's name) which included: two soup bowls and two mugs. ($12 each for all)
A glass ring. $5
Live music, tons of food, amazing art- what more could you want? Even if you don't want to spend money, it's so worth it to come down and experience it. I look forward to it every single year.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jun 11, 2017
This is a great arts festival! It's my first year going but I love the variety of different things to do. The area by point state park has a stage to enjoy different music and a big area for people to sit on the grass. There were some tables available but a lot of people brought their own chairs or towels to sit on.
The area is a huge circle of different art vendors, as well as food. The food is overpriced, but it's a festival so what can you expect? There was actually a lot more variety than I thought there would be but a lemonade + curly fries (with ranch, nacho cheese, and bacon bits) together cost $16! Oyyy.
If you go towards the fountain there's an activity center for children which is nice!
If you walk around through the streets, there's even more vendors, food, and art installations. I love the variety of artists who had beautiful work! There is a lot to see, and this festival is a great way to spend some time on a nice summer weekend.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Terry B.Charlotte, NC01Jun 3, 2022
The new venue is terrible. Very disjointed and not handicapped friendly. There were very few vendors and not much diversity in the art work. Don't waste your time on the 2022 show ;(
