      First to Review

Was looking for a place in Alexandria Bay but everything was sold out. Ended up at the Thousand Islands Inn.

Old building. Inside of the room was clean. Old furniture. Looked more like a nursing home but I enjoyed the over all retro feel. Bathroom was tiny but functional. No air conditioning (strangely the big advertisement sign on the front of the hotel says "air conditioned rooms"). Got hot during the day time but nights were cool. We weren't in the room mostly during the day so not a big issue. Fans worked just fine.

Spent 2 nights without any major problems. Wifi password I was given didn't work for the Wifi "extender" upstairs in my room. It worked on the ground floor.

The breakfast however was a joke. It consisted of bread and some bagels. A few cereal boxes (single serve). Coffee. Fruit mix which consisted of fruit which seemed like it had spent at least a week in the fridge. No eggs! Seemed like it was there just so that they could sell a room claiming "included" breakfast. Totally skipped the breakfast the next day.

The town of Clayton itself is a cute little town which could be a ghost town.

If I go again I will strive to book early and stay at a motel or bed and breakfast in Alexandria Bay. Rock Ledge Motel and Otter Creek Motel looked really nice.

They do claim to have the "original" thousand island dressing which I bought and am yet to try. I did not find any support to this claim online however.

Hey people. This place is being renovated, but the new guys are doing great food out back. Last summer it was tacos and this year burgers and sandwiches. Fabulous attention to quality for low price. Take out or eat under an umbrella out back. Not to be missed. Really.
