Had a roach infestation that took two months to get rid of and then still found dead ones every so often. Can't get out of certain payments that you don't really need like valet trash. Pool always closed, my mail box was broken the entire time I lived there so anyone could open it and steal mail, they take E-payments, but the money doesn't come out of your account until 4 days or so late so if you don't have enough then, you're screwed. They turn off E-payments and force you to pay it + lates fees via cashiers check. So you have to take time out of your day to have them a check that they screwed you into paying more for. Very happy I turned in my keys early and got out of there.

Ashley, the leasing agent, was the only good thing about this place.

      My experience here was ok.

The good: the unit I had itself was really nice. Very nice carpet, cabinets, countertops, etc. The front office staff were always very nice in person. Very nice location in Plano with easy access to the great trail systems.

The bad: I had air conditioning problems almost the entire time I lived here. As soon as late spring rolled around and it got warm, I had constant issues with the AC failing to cool the apartment. I'm glad I moved out by early summer because it would have been miserable. The day I left the unit had no AC because the circuit breaker would trip seconds after the AC was turned on (it is horrible to clear out an apartment in 90 degree heat). Gates to the community were constantly broken and there seemed to be some kind of illicit car junker operation going on in the parking lot at night around guest parking. The parking setup is not great (poor enforcement of reserved parking spots). The extra features here that go into your rent such as the pool and gym are not very impressive (small and outdated equipment, pool is always freezing because it is completely in the shade year round).

Overall it's not a bad place to live. I just think for how high the rent is here you would get a bit more value out of the community facilities and the AC system would be better setup for the Texas heat.

These apartments come with free pets! When my wife and I moved into the apartment in June of 2017, we had no idea about the adorable colony of roaches that shared our home. We've asked management to get rid of them about seven or eight times now, but they won't do it. I think they can see how attached we are to these little guys! They love to crawl all over our food and hide in our dishwasher! It's so cute! Just this morning, I found a dead one floating in my coffee! If that sounds yummy to you, this is the perfect home for you!

In all seriousness, don't move here. It may just be the roaches infesting my brain, but I can't help but feel like I am being cheated out of my rent money. Instead of being treated like a valued tenant, I'm ignored and told whatever will get me off the phone fastest. We've had three different property managers in four months. Maintenance is a nightmare. Roaches are everywhere. My wife and I can't wait to leave. I cannot stress this enough, consider ANY other apartment complex or rent house in the area before settling for Thornbury at Chase Oaks.

What started out as a nice relationship with our new apartment building, Thornbury at Chase Oaks, has turned quite upsetting. I am repeatedly ignored when submitting requests for simple maintenance like removal of bugs from the light fixtures. See pictures. Then we receive letters about their strict cleanliness policies regarding the trash valet and how we must have the trash can back inside by a certain time the next day or they'll fine us. All this when they don't hold their own employees and contractors accountable to similar cleanliness standards. For example, after having an empty apartment nearby re-carpeted, the contractors left tons of stray carpet residuals to dirty the halls and blow around the breezeway. It's still out there. See pictures.

Let me tell you how much I hate this apartment complex, our A/C and heating has not been working off and on, for the first three months we've lived here, no one came to fix it so spending all the time in a hot apartment and then for them to bring us portable units only to make our bill shoot up!

Also, my car has been broken into here, this place is a joke, they never clean the hallways, trash is supposed to be picked up I think 6 days a week or even 5 and it is RARELY picked up.

If you love ants, you will love this apartment, ants are basically living in every unit, they got all into our food, our drinks, all over our kitchen, bathroom and even crawl all over you at night, you'll find ants in your purse, basically anywhere that you can imagine, they came to spray for them, lasted for two days before ants started showing up again.

I would never ever ever recommend this apartment to anyone, oh and parking here IS A JOKE!!! You have to park basically in a non reserved spot but it feels as though all the spots are reserved so good luck getting a front row parking, better pack your hiking boots because you'll be walking back and forth to your car to your apartment!

Save yourself the time and money and move somewhere else, management and maintenance is the worst I've seen in all my years living in apartments.

This place is going downhill fast due in large part to the renters themselves and the unwillingness of management to confront their behavior. The attached photo says it all. If and when management stops young men from running a mechanic shop out of one of the garages across from my apartment, l will take down or modify this review. Disgusting.

I have been living in this complex for just over a year now. I am moving out at the end of August. This wasn't a terrible place to live in initially, but there have been so many key things for myself that made me want to leave. There has been a lot of foundation issues and I have to continually call to get them to fix/fill in the cracks in the walls of my apartment. The apartment complex switched company hands back in October and while I like some of the girls in the office, it has been really rough on us tenants. My unit suffered a massive leak when I first moved in (should have known) and I seem to have issues with water bugs from time to time, whether thats also because I'm on the first floor, I have no idea.

It seems like each month there is a new "policy". Rent has gone up, but for what? Many units, including mine, do not have granite or upgraded fixtures, and they don't do package delivery. Some tenants can be really loud and unruly, this isn't exactly a younger community either. Lots of families and children, which is ok in my book, but some might not like it so much. It also lists this apartment as a "gated" community, but they frequently leave the gate open or it ends up being broken thanks to some idiot.

The maintenance crew is the best thing this place has going for it. Kyle, Miguel, and the other few guys on the crew are always working hard and seem to be just as frustrated as the tenants with all the new policies. They do the best they can with what they have.

My advice? If you're in a bind, this place might be alright. Its clean, yards are maintained, and they accept pets. But if you're on the hunt for a place you'll be happy at, keep looking!

      Updated review

Fees keep going up by $5 I swear this time next year trash will be $40 for 5 days out of the week lmao. Service requests take minimum of 2 pday (in my cases for a broken dishwasher and disposal and ac) the parcel mail things are now a requirement how crazy like $9-10 a month too. I don't remember asking for it. Mail used to be dropped off to my door but now I have to walk across the whole place sometimes to pick up mail that's too large and was jammed in because the mail people all want to do it drop it off there now. Which means I've had to go in to get a manager to pry it open. OH! Also lol TWO TIMES the mail people messed up the apt numbers so when I got two alerts for my mail it ended up being other people's!!! Thank god im a good person and turned it in but just think.
Bugs. The bugs are bad roaches and ants. Get your own traps. I don't think I've ever seen pest people come in and spray. Oh but I pay for it lol. Basically the apartments are like from the year 2000 but with a paint makeover, even if the doors had dents and what not they're just slapped with paint so notice that. Doesn't deserve 2020 prices. $15 for your parking spot and $20 to each pet. And a $2 recycle fee which I didn't know we did hmm... someone just got shot up in the front area too about a week ago. I remember hearing about 8 shots and it was so close around 1-2am. The location makes the apt nice that's it. I could go on but nah so good luck

Update: bc of Covid my car was parked up front for a few months and we were only using my husbands car. So I go out there to get something out thankfully and there's a warning note for it being there for two weeks and they're gonna tow it. First of all I've been here three years and my husbands car would be out here longer than two weeks, my car too. Also my car is registered with my apartment but did I get a call no. A simple email to everyone about the car would've been so helpful like old management would do when someone was parked in your spot. Now that I'm checking my car it's dead so I'm panicking trying to move it oh and I called them at 4:55 twice and nothing, then I saw them walk out to their cars so thanks guys!!! Hate it here This is my last year

This new management company reminds me of one of those college apartment slum lords who are in league with the tow companies and uses them as an extra income source to fleece their poor working class tenants.

      What's this firms name?

      CAF

What's their solution for the parking problem here?

Charge the tenants for covered parking.

      Really?? Charge us to park?

I'll never sign a lease that says I have to pay to park in my own complex. The parking situation here is already atrocious AND NOW they have begun towing long time residents for double parking (on Super Bowl Sunday of all nights). I've never even seen a tow truck in the two years I've lived here until this firm took over.

I am a two year resident. I work 3-11 and when I come home there are scarcely any parking spaces left, yet they have a huge green space and doggy park on the other side of the complex that they could easily turn into MORE PARKING! The Dog Park is a waste of space. They might as well bulldoze it because it's not like any of the residents use it or pick up their dogs poop. POOP is everywhere on the grounds, you have to watch out not to step in it on the walkways and the grass. It's disgusting.

But why would they want to build more parking when they generate revenue and probably get a kick back from the tow company for towing a residents car?

That kind of business never happened at our complex in Allen. It was the policy there that they call their residents before they tow them.

This complex has my number. They didn't call me and now I am out $200 for a tow.

      Sidenote:

There are a bunch of scratch marks on the pavement where the tow company towed my car which I have included in the picture section. So now it looks like my car may be damaged.

Terrible management and maintenance. Every time my neighbor does laundry, water leaks all over my floor. This has been going on since AUGUST and it is now the end of FEBRUARY! Manager and maintenance have come out but, besides making 3 holes in my walls, nothing has been done.
