Made reservation through Priceline. The reviews were all positive for this property and was excited to stay. Upon arrival I discovered that the building was under renovation (not mentioned in review or on Westin or Priceline page). Here are a few bullet points that cause me great frustration:
1. Sheets and bedspread were dirty, stained, and worn out (I have uploaded photos). I asked the front desk to have housekeeping come and change the entire bedding while we were out and was told that it would be taken care of. When we returned two hours later the bed had not been addressed. It was only after I came back to the front desk that I was told that housekeeping could not enter a room if there was an animal not crated in the room. That I could accept but was not told that at the get-go. Instead a bag of flat sheets were left at the door so that I could change my own bed. The bedspread was not replaced and it had the most wear and tear to it with. It was well beyond its lifespan in a high-end hotel. I was also under the impression that all Westin beds were the Dream bed-this was not that. There was no dreaminess about it.
2. Suprised to find out that we would not have housekeeping at all for our stay, only after we checked out. On the day we checked out, housekeeping started knocking on our door at 9 am though..
3. The breakfast buffet was another disappointment. The only part of this buffet that was remotely from scratch or hot was the made-to-order omelet (even though the cook was using a carton of liquid eggs) Gratuity was included in this buffet but your cook felt it apropos to have a tip jar out. The boxed pancakes, sausage, potato, and bacon were all at room temp. All for $18.95.
My family does not take many trips. This was to be one where we could relax and have some fun but for the price, I feel that I am owed a refund as what I paid for was not what we got. Drove down for the eclipse and the Westin went all out! From the giant countdown timer on the wall to the Indy car in the lobby to the desk staff in astronaut outfits, it's clear they know how to entertain and make for a great experience.
The hotel itself has been remodeled and is large enough to host conferences - a plus if you're looking to spread out and enjoy the facilities. There's a well appointed gym on floor three with everything you need. I was a bit disappointed that 2/3 of the pelotons were in need of maintenance. The lounge on floor 3 is also a great place to grab breakfast, have a drink, or work from throughout the day.
Stepping into the room, you'll be delighted by the spacious bedroom and bathroom. Plenty of space for sleeping, working, and relaxing. The bed and linens are super soft and you look forward to sleeping in at the end of the day.
An added bonus that this property is in the heart of downtown and steps to the capitol, restaurants, museum, etc.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

I love staying at the Westin when I am traveling, however this was my least favorite. The only warm welcoming I got was from the guys working valet. I had to ask for help, when checking in. Since I have been a Marriot member for a few years I usually get upgraded without asking. I did not have that option here, they also did not have the "destination fee" and did not know what it was when I asked about it.
Of course the rooms were large and comfortable and they had a great gym, but the hallways are like mazes. Every time I got off the elevator to my floor I got lost trying to find my room.
I will say this place is in easy walking distance. Would I stay again? maybe if they staff learned how to be more professional and kind.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Checking in was a Breeze ( I had called 1 time prior to this trip to line everything out) feather free pillows because of down allergies in the family. This hotel got it right. The warm reception from from the nice lady at front desk had me feeling like VIP!!! Thank you for that (Should be commended by upper management) (+1star)
The room upon arrival smelled clean and IS clean. We had a short stay here to visit the Athletic Trainer convention at the convention center. The layout of the king bed and couch was really efficient. (+1 star)

The room was comfortable all around!!!
The front desk staff every morning and evening was all smiles and very Friendly... (+1 star) they should be commended for being awesome.
The security /cleaning/maintenance staff all very friendly and accommodating (+2 stars)
I felt very safe coming and going from the Westin.
This hotel location is easy to find and surrounding area has quite a few food/entertainment options within a short walk away. (+1 star)
I was pleasantly surprised how comfortable the beds were! Water pressure was good. We enjoyed the visit.
We will return!!

Loved my stay here! Super nice hotels with nice rooms and an incredible gym. It's definitely the best hotel gym I've ever been to. The hotel is conveniently located so we could walk everywhere we were going that weekend, which was amazing. The only issue we had was that we couldn't get into the restaurant for some reason. The outside entrance was closed, and when we tried to go in through the hotel lobby, they had the entrance closed off. We ended up just going out for breakfast, but we really wanted to try the hotels restaurant. Other than that, though, everyone was super friendly and helpful, and we really enjoyed our stay!

This is a good hotel. The rooms are nice. The food is really good, and all the service I have received has been great. In spite of being at a large conference, the elevator wait was never long. I totally enjoyed my stay. My only complaint was that there is no gift shop. I needed to get deodorant.

We stayed here a couple weeks ago! We were getting dinner and drinks with friends and got in late, so when we went to check in, it was about 3:30AM. I hadn't realized I needed to notify them ahead of time that we'd be getting in late so when we got there, their systems were in the middle of an audit and we had to wait about a half an hour. After waiting, we were then told our reservation was canceled at full price since we didn't show in time. Exhausted and frustrated at this point, I was a wreck. I'm giving them a 4 because of the compassion and understanding they eventually showed us. They did comp us a room and made sure we had everything we needed. Very grateful they were so helpful because it was clearly my mistake for not checking in earlier. Definitely learned our lesson for next time!

I cannot say enough amazing things about this hotel and the people that work here. I stayed over Christmas. Everyone was so pleasant and kind. I've worked in hospitality and there is nothing worse than working over a holiday but everyone had the best attitude. So helpful. Will definitely stay next time I'm in town.

Stayed here for a week for a conference. The location of this hotel is amazing as it is attached to the convention center and walking distance (or scooter distance) to anywhere you could want to go downtown. Although they did not have daily room service, it was super quick and easy to get what you needed upon request while passing the front desk on the way back to the room. I was able to obtain additional towels and toilet paper.

I used to work a big convention in town and I requested this hotel. For the past 6-8 years I have been attending as a guest. This year I was finally able to grab this hotel again. Rooms have been remodeled, bed are still amazing but there isn't enough storage.
They used to have Shula's steak house which was expensive but the food was great. I guess they closed during the pandemic, lots of downtown Indy eateries did, and the hotel replaced them with Ten Hands which quite frankly sucked. I ate at the breakfast and lunch buffets. Breakfast was slightly better than a free breakfast you get at a discount motel. Pancakes (dry/stale), syrup, breakfast potatoes, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon. Lunch was sliders, mini hotdogs, tater tots. It was terrible. Don't pre-make the sliders you don't know what people want on them. Should have put at least 2 of those mini hotdogs in the bun. Again don't make them how you like them, just let people add the extras themselves. I'd have been annoyed . Quality was terrible. Very disappointed.
So the convention block is more than double the normal nightly rate, if you book outside the block it's more than triple for the convention weekend. So it is as busy as this hotel gets. Yet they have the ice machines off on every other floor turned off. This was just about the end for me, how much money do you have to be making to turn on the fucking ice machines.
