Aggie is the best! Fast and painless. I found the wax shop on groupon and will definitely be going back. I may even try a facial!

Over the years I've bounced between waxing shops and never found a lasting place. I've now been with the Wax Shop for several years now and wholeheartedly think they are the best.
Tanya makes a process that I used to dread quick and painless. She is a master waxer! The online booking system is very easy to use as well.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 658231118Mar 26, 2018
I came here upon a recommendation from my roommate, who is a frequent regular. I bought the groupon (which is a great price) and it was very easy to set up my appointment with a simple phone call. I was given Agi at first, but when I called the day of to see if I could get an earlier appointment, the Wax Shop was so accommodating and had me come in an hour earlier to meet with Tanya (which the groupon states is not valid with her). My roommate had recommended Tanya to me in the first place.
Tanya is very much a no nonsense woman and is very straight to the point. You can tell she has years of experience under her belt and her room had a classic old-fashioned spa feel to it. I thought everything looked pretty sanitary before I undressed for my brazilian, as there were plenty of popsicle sticks to dip into the hot wax. So I knew she wasn't going to reuse the sticks (and she didn't). But what was super odd to me was that Tanya didn't use gloves. Since she was such a no-nonsense headstrong woman, I didn't bother asking. I guess I'm a lot more comfortable about this sort of thing than others (though it's a sanitary issue). Tanya guided me on what positions to place my legs and within 10 minutes, we were done. I was mostly fascinated that she didn't care that she was touching my parts with her bare hands lol. I know other customers would be super cautious about this sort of thing and I just showered when I got home.
I also went close to lunch time so perhaps Tanya was angsty and in a rush. I've had better service and experiences elsewhere, but Tanya was by far the most accurate and precise with her waxes and made sure to get every last strand that wasn't caught in the wax.
If you decide to come here and get an appointment with Tanya, and are squeamish about others touching your body without gloves (as you should be), just clarify with her that she'll be using gloves. I probably should have done that but it's already too late. I'll be sure to do that next time!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Johnny S.Los Angeles, CA1199Feb 23, 2018
This place is the absolute worst.
I went there for upper back wax and the lady had soft touch I give her that but they use the worst cheapest wax ever. here are the pictures and please people judge for yourselves.
I waxed to look clean for my Mexico beach vacation and when I got home it started to get red and the next day I got this ugly acne breakout and it's worse than the few hairs I had and I been waxing for 7 years the same spot and never experienced such a thing and this is the most I ever paid for waxing $40 for upper back and gave me this nasty acne because they use a chemical cheap product to wax their clients
Was going on my first vacation with my new gd and had to cancel because I didn't want to look like I have a skin disease this place ruined an international trip for me I wish the owner could take responsibility and approach me because I been ripped off and my whole trip was ruined. it's very unfair of the owner to do business this way. If you charge premium price then use premium products.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Maryann F.Beverly Hills, CA1741Feb 11, 2019
Great place! Affordable and a lovely staff. The glycolic facial was effective and felt great.
Very pleased :)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 349916524651Apr 6, 2015
Had a Living Social deal for waxing services. I appreciate that you can make an appointment online but there was some snafu and the time I thought I booked wasn't the time the system had me booked... it was easily fixed though.
There is a paid parking garage in the building and you should just avoid looking for parking and deal with that because it's $1.75 for 15 minutes. And realistically how long do you want to be waxed?
I found the atmosphere of the place clinical/clean feeling but not the most pleasant. The lighting in the waxing room was so bright it actually hurt my eyes and made me a little nauseous. I realize that bright light is needed for this sort of work but I have NEVER seen a treatment room so appallingly lit. It was not enjoyable. Add to that my tech seemed to want me to just completely disrobe and wait for her on a table (how about a blanket or a towel or SOMETHING for when you throw open the door?!) and that she was a bit um... let's just say she was almost eastern Euro military like and leave it at that.
This isn't always a pleasant grooming moment to begin with... but the Wax Shop could do a few things to make it less uncomfortable.Helpful 8Thanks 0Love this 9Oh no 0 - T. M.Los Angeles, CA30410Jul 3, 2021
Sad to see the Wax Shop closed. I had been going to Tanya and Agi for over 15 years for waxing and facials. Happy to say I found Agi's new location at the Face Place in West Hollywood! She is the best esthetician LA has to offer.

I tried this place for the first time and I got the most amazing facial!! I booked it through groupon and recieved much more than I had expected. Agi was super sweet and gentle on my skin. She spent an extra amount of time with me and made me feel super relaxed. She knew I was concerned about the pores on my face so she went above and beyond to make sure I left with clear skin. I will def be going back! Thank you Agi!

I finally got the courage to get not only 1 but a Groupon for 3 sessions of Brazilian wax. I googled and prepped myself for my 1st Brazilian!
I was prepped and ready to go. I took a pain reliever and put numbing cream half an hour before my appointment. My estethician was Agi. I had told her it was my first time and she walked me through every step. Her confidence calmed me down because I could tell she knew what she was doing, and I was right! She was super quick yet gentle and careful. I love her and her technique! She was so experienced; I forgot why I was so nervous since I felt really comfortable with her! I LOVE the online booking!
Agi is truly amazing! I loved her 1, 2 and pull method, and by the 3rd session, I barely had any pain. My experience with Agi was as painless as it could be! I will never go by anyone else for Brazilian wax!
** I was well researched and knew what was expected, which was why I was prepared. The Wax Shop didn't really prep me or tell me what I should do before or after my appointment, which was odd. Please make sure to know your body and make sure to ask them if you have any questions; they won't go into details otherwise. **
* Tips *
- take a warm bath/shower either the day of or a day before but don't exfoliate; it can make your skin sensitive.
-exfoliate a week before your wax. Wait a few days then begin exfoliating to avoid ingrown hairs.
-invest in numbing cream and apply it 30-45 minutes before your appointment; this is optional because it doesn't work with some people, but it definitely helped me, so I recommend it.
-if you have no pain tolerance like me, take a pain reliever (or 2) 30 min before your appointment.
-invest in an ingrown hair serum for your skin type. You can apply it both the day of and as many days as you want after.
-no hot shower or gym, 24-48 hours after your wax.
I have super sensitive skin and have not had a bad skin reaction here, especially after following the tips above. All in all, the Wax Shop's estethicians work wonders. My biggest kudos to Agi; you are a ninja! I never thought waxing could be virtually painless, yet Agi made it possible.Helpful 24Thanks 0Love this 23Oh no 0 - Terri W.Houston, TX22244Feb 15, 2020
I've had several bikini waxes here from each aesthetician. It hurt a bit the first time, but if you follow their recommendation to not wait too long until the next waxing, it will be painless. They are prompt, quick and professional.
