Never, ever, ever go here.
My wife and I both needed to get new eyewear, and they were convenient. They were able to take us right then for our appointments, which went quickly.
That was the last time we were satisfied.
After the exam, I tried to order my glasses. My single-vision glasses were going to cost over $400. And because of my insurance (or so they said) it would take 4 weeks to get them made.
I went to TSO across the street, paid $250, and got the same glasses in five days.
My wife's story is even worse. She wears contact lenses. After her exam she asked for her prescription. Vision Source REQUIRES a second (for fee, of course) fitting appointment. All of the optometrists we called later said that the second fitting was optional. To make matters worse, they weren't willing to schedule this second fitting at a convenient time; my wife works downtown, and she couldn't get back in the Woodlands early enough. Oddly, their last appointment of this type was hours before they actually closed.
So she decides to get re-tested at another optometrist (paying out of pocket) and we weren't still free from Vision Source. It turns out that they put some sort of hold on our insurance for the contacts... contacts they never were willing to deliver.
We called Vision Source to get them to release the hold. The manager wasn't available, and the person in charge was at lunch. We were promised a callback in 20 minutes. No callback ever happened.
The next day we called our insurance again. They had spoken to Vision Source, and now Vision Source was demanding that we pay them $50 for some phantom exam (which never took place) before they would release the hold on our insurance.
Folks, stay far away from these people. Their prices are absurdly high, and if you balk at paying them, they'll put claims on your insurance to try to prevent you from going elsewhere.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0Business owner information

Is there a way to put ZERO stars???
This place is the most UNETHICAL eye place I have ever been to.
****BE WARE STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE*****
I'll list the following complaints and you make your own decision
1. I had a 1 pm apt. for contacts, after the pre exam I sat in the chair waiting for the Dr. for 45 minutes. The Dr. (female) was rude and kept trying to push the "dilating" exam on me, I finally had to be very curt and say "I AM NOT DOING THAT EXAM TODAY" . She barked at me that I wasn't doing the best for my eyes.
2. After that exam we waited another 45 minutes to order the glasses, and THEN they over billed us TWICE. (attempted to overcharge my insurance company!!!) Luckily my husband is a banker and made them list the charges line by line and caught each "extra" fees.
3. They "REQUIRED" an additional contact fitting exam, so I had to return on another day (AT EXTRA CHARGE).
4. When picking up the contacts and glasses at this second exam, I couldn't see out of one eye of the glasses. they said the eye glasses had been "cut wrong" and I couldn't see out of one eye. They blamed the "factory" and I had to return AGAIN to get the glasses, I think the prescription was just wrong.
5. When finally going to check out for contacts and glasses (after two horrendous visits) they attempted to OVERCHARGE ME AGAIN!!! Wanted me to pay for contacts out of pocket ( I have coverage for contacts and glasses) and also charge me an additional 45 dollars for the "additional contact fitting exam". I REFUSED To pay and left a complaint with the manager
6. Just this Monday the office manager called and said "we had a clerical error" you DO HAVE coverage for all the contacts and the fitting exam.
DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE THEY ARE SCAMMING YOUR INSURANCE COMPANIES AS WELL AS YOU! THEY DO NOT TELL YOU HOW MUCH EACH ITEM IS BILLED AND YOU END UP PAYING HUNDREDS OF EXTRA DOLLARS FOR UNNECESSARY ITEMS (ANTI GLARE ON GLASSES IS 100 BUCKS! )Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

If I could give them lower I would!!! I went there in Dec 13. My insurance only pays for the check-up and I have to pay for the contact lens. Which I did, I just made sure on my credit card statement because seven months later I just got a bill in the mail that says I am over 120 past due. I did not get anything else in the mail before this. I tried to call to sort this out and the person who does this is not there on weekends and the receptionist said she would call back when she doesn't have a line to see if she could tell me what happened. Another part is I had to pay to see another eye doctor because this one gave me the wrong prescription. So after buying new glasses and contacts I ended up not being able to use them because they were wrong because of this doctor.
So please never use this place. EVER!!!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mary B.Houston, TX05Jun 6, 2011
I've been fighting with them for over a year to get my prescription. My insurance covers the comprehensive exam fee but the contact lens exam is extra. So I paid the additional fee and then they refused to give me prescription for glasses. I argued that my insurance covered that cost, but to no avail. After several days of back and forth on the phone with the "manager" who is never available, they finally agreed to mail my glasses presciption. Took a few weeks but I did get it.
Now, almost a year later, I try to order more contacts but they refuse to fill the order. Not because the prescription is expired (it's still good for another 2 months), but because I have an outstanding balance on my account for an examination!!!
STAY AWAY! This place will take your money and lie the whole time! I have documentation to prove that I paid my part and the insurance paid their part, but I've learned my lesson.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lily C.Humble, TX02Feb 4, 2014
NEVER will I ever return here and I will NEVER recommend anyone else go here.
I did not have my exam and prescription written at this location, I had that done at another Vision Source. BIG MISTAKE. The only reason I didn't get my glasses at the location of my exam was because I couldn't decide on a frame.
I walked into VS in the Woodlands mall while Christmas shopping and found a frame I liked. They were very helpful, sat me down took all my information, made a copy of my prescription, talked me into more than I had asked to begin with and took my money. I left the store happy and excited about my choice.
They called me when they were ready. I went into the store late on a Sunday and the Manager handed me my glasses. I immediately noticed that I could not see correctly and without checking the prescription, told me to give them at least 3 days to get used to them. I left the store and didn't give it a second thought.
Went back a week later because I did not get used to them and the Optician from hell sat me down and took my glasses. I wasn't even half way through talking when she said this was going to cost me. It was downhill from there. She took the glasses to another room and supposedly checked them. Came back and told me they were done correctly. When I told her that I didn't agree and that I had asked up front if the glasses didn't work for me would there be a problem replacing them, I was told no there would not be a problem, she told me I should have used common sense and known it would cost me. The store was very busy and I was very upset. The manager said she would talk with me but I would have to wait. I was so upset, I told her I would call her and left.
I called the manager a couple days later to tell her the issue I had and she told me to go to the doctor who prescribed the lenses and check with them and if the prescription was wrong I would not have to pay to have the lenses switched out.
I went to my exam doctor, the optician checked the lenses and found that the Woodlands store had made my lenses to prescription and that my prescription is correct. They even forgot to account for stigmatism in my right eye.
Because it is an hour trip to the Woodlands, I have been calling the store asking to speak with the manager. She is never available and has not returned the multiple messages I have left.
This has been a very bad experience. I realize I can go to the store but I want to ensure that I will not encounter problems and waste a trip. They cannot even bother to return a call. Very poor customer service.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Leslie W.Conroe, TX01Sep 4, 2013
Don't go here, the lady at the counter was nice, but the woman who did the firsts initial test was really rude and rush rush didn't really care about my questions and just didn't seem to be into what she was doing. The actually doctor was pretty much the same he came in didn't say hello or even look at me just stated to adjust things and look at paper work. He was also VERY rush rush and didn't seem to care. I told him about my past eye infection because I haven't wore contacts in awhile and wearing them again was a cercern for me and his first response was IDK, the he came up with some bull after i looked at him like 'really'.Bottom line he didn't care just wanted my business.
Don't go here unless its the day after Labor Day and your desperate to see clear again because its been over a year since your last exam.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Cori U.Magnolia, TX24Jun 11, 2012
Do not go here!!! I went in to get my glasses adjusted and was never warned that they might break my glasses. Of course two minutes the lady came back and broke my glasses, never apologized just sat down and started typing saying I can give you a 20% percent discount. She then chose 4 different frames that were suppose to fit my progressive lenses. I couldn't see but I picked the one that was the same brand I told her I didn't want them to cut the lenses, she said they wouldn't and they would be ready in 30 minutes. Well I came back got the glasses and was charged $273. I was told that there was no manager on duty and I would have to call back to complain. So after two days I called back and explained what happened well I was told that they would order me the same frames that were broken if I could find the model number, which I did. Well after finding that model number I decided to look up the model number for the new frames to find out that I had been sold MEN'S glasses. I called them back and they had nothing to say now they were going to refund me my 273. Which doesn't help because I need to buy new frames anyway. I was told by the receptionist the reason for this is that they cut my lenses without telling me and lying to me that they wouldn't. I have talked to the owner and would not do anything. This is not how you run a business. Do not give ms Karen( the owner) your business!!!

Adjusting glasses is risky and can lead to breakage. We always proceed with the utmost care when adjusting/repairing our patients glasses or ones that were not purchased in our store. Thankfully we were able to resolve this situation to the complete satisfaction of the customer.
