Wow wow wow. Thank God this place wasn't around when I was in college because I would've been broke.....or I would've had guys taking me there so I wouldn't have to foot the bill. My friends always come here for Homecoming so when we were in town this wknd I wanted to stop by and see what it was about. Really, I didn't have high hopes for somewhere that's located under Bent Willey's but I can never pass on a glass of red.
Nice atmosphere with the standard bar area that reminded me too much of Bent Willey's along with comfy, plush booths. The thing that bothered me most was the music. Any place that claims to be a wine bar should not be blaring a station that Lacy Neff still works for. Really WVAQ at a wine bar? Annoyed me to death as it should be a softer, lighter music sifting through the room. Service was good, our chick came back to check on us quite often but she didn't know the standard glasses of red and what they carried. Food was better than I expected, we had the sushi shrimp roll and spinach and artichoke dip.
Glasses of red range from $7 to $12 so it can get pricey after awhile but still a solid night for when you want to class it up in Motown.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Aug 3, 2014
The Vintage room is arguably one of Morgantown's nicer bars, with some very good brick oven pizza. Although I am not big on wine, its selection of wines looks amazing. The Vintage Room's atmosphere has date night written all over it.
I think Morgantown has needed something like this one for a long time, for it adds an air of class to your typical Morgantown experience. My experience with the bar staff has been very positive, and they even have Patron Platinum at $30 a shot. However, as good as The Vintage Room is, I've run into some real foulness with the restrooms which has to keep this oh so chic restaurant out of the 5 star arena.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Amelia B.Madison, VA52210Jan 21, 2016
This is my favorite place in Morgantown. I went for my anniversary last year and I am looking forward to going again this year for my anniversary. The spinach and arugula salad was one of the best salads I have ever had. I seriously think about it all the time. It is SO affordable for the quantity and quality. The shrimp tacos are incredible. My husband gets pizza and he really enjoys it. The atmosphere is wonderful with big comfortable booths and low lighting. The service has always been good and the food is the best. I can't wait to go back.

The Vintage Room
Located off of the High Street area of Morgantown, The Vintage Room (The Martini Bar) is one of the very few upscale bars in the North Central WV area. Last dined Summer 2008.
1) Food - 5 stars. They are famous for their brick oven Margarita Pizza and that fame is well deserved. The appetizers are also worthy of accolades due to the quality and flavor. Everything is fresh and will pair with almost any drink you choose. The Martinis range from the classic to the trendy and wine selection is broad. This is still a bar so if Martinis and wine are not enough there are plenty of other beverages to choose.
2) Service - 3 stars. Depends on the time and day of the week. Skip Happy Hour on Wednesdays until the "Working Women's Wednesday" moves to another location. The place is packed with young "professionals" and service comes almost to a halt for those beyond their college years. Other than that, you will find the staff attentive and knowledgeable. The bartenders are very good.
3) Atmosphere - 5 stars. The layout is spacious and easy to navigate. The décor is trendy yet understated and the light level is low to provide privacy even for large groups. Usually the 1980's classics are playing but more as white nose than anything else. There is no dance floor so don't expect to see the bump n'grind.
4) Price - 3 stars. Very reasonable. The bill can get a little high the more premium drinks you throw back.
5) Additional Comments - This place is perfect for the after work cocktail and for groups. Parking is limited which is typical for Morgantown, but the parking garage is only a block away and there is metered parking across from the bar.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Adam B.Morgantown, WV61374Jun 18, 2012
Very nice wine selection and it's one of the nicer bars around town.
There is a decent college crowd, but young professionals as well.
Get the brick oven pizza. Flat out awesome.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Becca H.Haymarket, VA1201331Sep 16, 2009
Overpriced drinks just because it's a super classy place.
I feel like it doesn't really have the Morgantown feel to it.
It's a nice place to go for a date or something but if you're looking to drink/get drunk, go somewhere else!
I guess I'm not too into being classy... hahahahahahahHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sher Y.Morgantown, WV275903804Aug 10, 2010
Actually I don't drink here to often, but I do eat here and the food is fantastic. couple weeks ago I did have a oyster shooter w/vodka and tobasco sauce...that was just straight death.

Terrific experience! I took my girlfriend here for valentines day and we were greeted at the door by a very enthusiastic hostess, given a choice of seating and were attended promptly. They had great deals on wine and specialty plates. The waitress continuously checked on us and made sure the food was perfect and we didn't need for anything else. Overall a great experience and for the price I couldn't have asked for better service/food.

I have been here multiple times for drinks and apps and finally recently tried dinner. We all had great meals! I would say this is one of the best places to eat in Morgantown. The steak was very good! The pizza is also very good. Great Martinis as well.

This is a very classy restaurant with dim lighting inside. The times I have gone, it is never crowded. I know they will make reservations for inside parties and they have a big table in a separate room area, which would be nice for an indoor, late night party. They recently remodeled the outside seating to a modern look.. It looks great, but isn't very functional. The tables are really low if you aren't just going for drinks and the silly pillows kept falling forward. The Martinis are solid, but they are not all on the happy hour special. They usually pick one to include in happy hour. It's the only place for Martinis that is conveniently located downtown if you are going to go somewhere else after, but I would check out Bartini.. Better atmosphere and happy hour specials.
