Very big campus. It is well maintained with many moving parts. Easy to get lost. But after going a few times, you get the hang of it. Decent amount of chain food options that teenagers gravitate towards. And most of your major banks have atms station there too.
Good wifi and staff is friendly.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 23, 2023
This is a very nice campus. It is clean and well maintained as is the surrounding are. The light rail is conveniently nearby and everyone I encountered was friendly and cordial. Not a student here so can't speak to the quality of the educational experience but as a visitor of the campus, all was good.

As a lateral entry teacher who is seeking a graduate certificate in teaching, I have not had a very pleasant experience here. Lack of communication between staff members leaves students to sort out the mess. I do not feel very supported or that my education is important to the people at this university. To put it short and sweet, they do not care about you, only the money you are spending. They will not make it any easier to receive FASFA either.

A very good school especially for the price. I went to this school for my education and later worked their for a few years. I also went to camp in middle and high school here. I have been around this school for many years and have enjoyed my experiences.

A lot of hard work for a negative return. 40 classes of unimportant data. I graduated in 1996 and that degree was the biggest mistake of my life. They hire anybody with a Masters or Phd to teach a class. Classes are taught by Grad students. Complex calculus, accounting, finance, communications, and not any gainful employment yet. They tell you to make monthly payments to the SP 500 for retirement. My average cost of the SP 500 etf would be around 250. It's 400 as of today. 26 years to make 100% with dividends before taxes. After tax would be 35% less. Waste of time. Watch Youtube videos for a better education. Computer science, engineering, CPA, RN tend to get gainful employment. The remainder of the degrees are the same as a High School Diploma. Government/Military will recognize a 4 year degree, but the private sector does not care. They enjoy asking random questions on a test to nock down grades. Go somewhere else to get into Law School.
Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Aug 20, 2018Previous reviewI regret going here. Go to nc state or transfer. The teachers use the podium talk about their opinions on life and politics. The sports have gone down a notch from conference USA. The business degree does not cover some very important information and makes unimportant information hard on a test. If you want to go to law school, do not go here. They make classes like business communications class very hard. Your GPA will suffer and you are stuck with there worthless bachelor degree. The last three cars we bought, there was a salesperson who had a recent business degree from UNCC. I think that the majority of students are first time college students in there family. That makes it even worse when they do not get a good job and only get a job that requires a high school diploma. I am glad that the truth can be told about a University with these websites.

UNC Charlotte has a beautiful campus. My son likes attending. I have an issue with the housing department. My son attended in the Spring of 2023. He could not do the Return to campus housing application, due to attending only one semester. We applied for housing early, and paid the fee associated with applying. In February he received an email that suggested he begin looking for off campus housing. The college more then likely will not be able to accommodate housing for my son. I called the college housing department to ask questions. The housing dept. said they have a lot of students that want to live on campus. The housing department told me to call financial aid. The housing department places return to campus and continuing students housing last. After being told that my son would not have housing the housing department at INC Charlotte is still taking housing applications, even though housing is limited. Good Luck to the students and parents that are applying for housing in May of 2023. Hopefully your child will housing, but don't count on it.

Our elementary school attend UNCC for a field trip for the college and basketball day. The students had an awesome time. Everything was so organized and the security was on point. It was raining when we attended so we did not get to see much of the campus. The students had so much fun and were happy to see the girls basketball team. The concessions were open and very quick. I would love to take the students back so they can tour the campus.

Terrible school. The professors aren't helpful at all, the staff never know how to help the students and just send you to the next person who does the same thing. It's extremely expensive and barely anything to show for what we have to pay for. $300 per semester for a parking pass, $80 for each parking citation you get for parking in the wrong parking lot, $2000 per semester for health insurance. The programs are completely unorganized. There are few really good professors who actually know what they're doing and care about their students (in my opinion, these are professors I've had in the social work program). They charge you for the smallest things and don't care about helping the students. Almost 50 percent of students either drop out or don't graduate within 8 years. There is no help for students who really need it. I've been here for 4 years, and I cannot wait to graduate and never look at this school again. I try to warn everyone against it. So many better options. Only come here if you want to get robbed and have no positive experience whatsoever.

I am a graduate from this school. So know that before continued reading. I have been through the halls, classes, dorms, library, dining halls, and everything else.
So first I'll start with how beautiful the campus is. Everyday it gets better and better. There are countless places to go to enjoy the outdoors. There are gardens and ponds to walk by on a nice evening walk. You don't have to be a student to walk around here.
There are plenty of places to eat on campus as well. And once again you don't have to be a student to enjoy them. Some prices are more expensive so just stay smart. You're already on Yelp so that means you are somewhat smart!
The university is continuing to grow every year in size. The campus is one of the largest in the state of North Carolina and the student population is growing every year to above 25 thousand and more.
There are a couple of negatives that come to mind that followed me throughout my days here. Parking sucks. There are a ton of people on campus all looking for the same thing. It gets vicious. And the parking police do not care about you. Traffic is horrific after classes get out. So if you don't have to drive on campus, don't. Also college is expensive. But where is it not??
I can't wait to watch what this college continues to grow into. It'll be a bumpy road but the ending will be great.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Reuben S.Lancaster, SC14616May 25, 2021
Predatory college. Even with my GI bill I had to pay out of pocket 22k, also had a family member pass away while enrolled and they refused to let me drop a class even though I was willing to present a death certificate. I wouldn't recommend this school to anyone.
