The Rock Club is also designed as a radical event venue. Besides normal operations including coaching and instruction for kids and adults, we host competitions, birthday parties, bar and bat mitzvahs, corporate and fundraising events. Is there a message board for finding a belay partner at the gym?
A:
Hi Sarah, thanks for reaching out! We don't have a physical message board at the gym to find belay partners. We do have a meet-up night every Wednesday and this would be a great way to meet other climbers. We pride ourselves on having a super… more

I discovered TRC through a coworker who has been climbing here for two+ years. I was hooked my first day! I'm not one to be in a gym, the whole machine confusion and everyone grunting with their headphones in wasn't for me. I love the community feel of this place. Everyone is so encouraging and helpful. There is never judgement, just constructive criticism given amongst each other so we can all improve our techniques and nail our climbs.
The walls always change routes so you'll never get bored! I've been here 6+ times within the last month or so and never had to wait for a wall due to the large size of the vicinity.
Pierre, along with all the other trainers and employees, has been extremely helpful and positive in showing me the ropes (literally) and pushing me to progress from rope climbing to possibly moving on to lead climbing and even bouldering :)
Really love it here... Can't wait to climb again soon!:)Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 18, 2024
Great time here at the Rock Club.
Purchased a Groupon and decided to visit on a Friday morning. Called ahead and the front desk staff were very quick in getting back to me to confirm that a belayer was available at that time. They also confirmed the Groupon over the phone. I went ahead and completed the required waiver forms online prior to our visit.
Adequate parking was available at that time. The Rock Club (downstairs) shares its space with a with a tennis club, so make sure you follow the ramp down toward the Rock Club entrance and NOT the stairs whih leads to the tennis club.
We arrived at around 10am and it was fairly empty. The Rock Club staff explained the process and set us up with climbing shoes.
We were then introduced to our belayer who was awesome. Over the next hour, we tried climbs ranging in difficulty. The wall heights range from about 35-40 feet and the peg placement and wall angles vary throughout the climbs, making some more difficult than others. We even had some time to try some bouldering. Our belayer was great at explaining techniques and technical terms. She was very patient and very encouraging...though not "pushy" at all.
After we finished, the staff was nice enough to show us around to see what else was available at the facility: childrens area, common areas, training rooms and weight rooms.
May go without saying...wear comfy clothes. As a regular gym-goer, but someone who has NOT climbed before, this was a welcomed challenge. Certain muscles, particularly the forearms and core, may not be part of the typical gym regimen...but are very important in climbing...that being said, I was definitely feeling it the next day.
Overall we had a great experience at the Rock Club. We will deinifitely look into other classes.
Kudos to all the staff members there.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Keith W.Manhattan, New York, NY2006040Jan 14, 2023

We had an excellent time here! Our instructor, Daniel was very intuitive of what we could and could not do. He was friendly, encouraging and extremely helpful during the climb. I can't recommend this place enough!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Cc L.White Plains, NY011Feb 4, 2023
We had my daughters 10th birthday at The Rock Club and were so impressed-it was well run, organized and the kids moved it. From the minute I arrived Ben walked me through every step of the party and the kids had so much fun. We had 15 children, the amazing thing about this party is it is good for boys and girls, we had a mix of both. They broke them into 3 groups and after 90 minutes of climbing they were hungry, tired and smiling. Thank you to the staff and team who made everything a birthday should be-a ton of fun, super interactive and engaging and most of all safe. I would highly recommend this facility and my family and I will be back again but this time just us to climb and have fun!

I'm sorry but this place has become a shit dump! I have to start by saying I have put both my kids in the climbing camps and have never questioned prices or the teachers, to
My daughters birthday party!! But the customer service now is zero! From getting followed around to cursing in front of three children! Yes cursing and my kids and a kids friend, hearing what seemed to be a manger complaining about my belayer tag that didn't have my name on it. Had to do a quick test and go about my life but not after giving my kids a little show. So I did get an apology but after I threw Joshuas name in the mix and I guess cursing isn't the policy and now a days no one wants to get fired! I will never come here again!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - P P.Blauvelt, NY25918Jul 7, 2022
Came here for the first time to spend a few hours rock climbing. Never been rock climbing before but was such a cool experience. We had so much fun just playing around and climbing. Staff was friendly and accommodating and the atmosphere is awesome. Music is fun, walls are both challenging but doable for any person who never done this before but still wants to have a good time. Pricing is great it was $25 for a day pass and harness. You can leave and come back throughout the day and enjoy climbing at your comfort. Such a fun activity and highly recommend coming to check this spot out!

June 2019, great place to overcome your fear of heights. The place has has many skill level walls for newbie to experienced Rock Climbers.
From the staff to the people who were just there to rock climb, everyone was very nice, and helpful. This was second time Rock Climbing in over 10 years, and I had a blast. My only suggestion is that all staff wear a bright color Tee Shirt so you can distinguish them from the crowd of people who are just there for climbing and having fun. Love this place, and it is a MUST TRY at least once in your lifetime or twice :). I like the fact that you can get a Day Pass, and not locked into a membership.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Darlene V.New Rochelle, NY147174498Jul 20, 2019
This place is awesome. We love the routes and the cool staff. They are super helpful and encouraging. Some cool things about the Rock Club: nice facility and amenities, fun and challenging routes, awesome events, and great people to climb with. Their website clearly indicates all options for climbers, in terms of memberships and camps. If you have a question, the staff is very helpful in answering your inquiries. Climb on!

Extremely proud to be a member.
TRC staff have been super friendly and encouraging since the day I first asked for a walkthrough. They are extremely knowledgable and eager to chat. The other members are positive and really want to create an atmosphere of community and respect. In the last few months I have gone from a V0 to a V2/3 climber. My Saturday morning bouldering is a highlight of my week. I am always in support of local businesses and TRC is a model for why that is the case.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Yolanda A.New Rochelle, NY2135Jun 15, 2016
