We made reservations a few days earlier for the Sunday jazz brunch on Easter. It's too bad the weather was cold and inclement. We really didn't need to make reservations as there were a few tables available. The staff seemed a little overwhelmed although it wasn't very busy. My friend who ordered the English breakfast but to leave out the blood sausage AKA black pudding. I tried the Timbuktu. Two eggs over baked potatoes and cheddar cheese tomato and bacon and caramelized onion. I could find the eggs and baked potatoes but I couldn't find the rest. They do have French pressed coffee but unlike at the other tables they didn't leave the pot. The waiter had to go back and forth to the bar.
The restaurant has a quaint atmosphere to it.

This place is like a hidden gem. We were looking for someplace to eat on a Monday when we stumbled upon it. We were the only ones on the lovely outdoor patio.
The bartender came out to chat about their drink offerings and together we invented a whole new one w fun ingredients. Waitress was cheerful and sweet.
We both got the lamb and were very impressed. Great location on the river, excellent food, top notch service. Highly recommended

I have been trying to do a brunch here for a while, every time it was mysteriously closed for brunch, private party , renovations, your 8 minutes late etc. , soooo today I was blessed and was allowed access to the patio. I will put this in a simple way, 2 waiters, 2 tables should be a ground ball for any staff, not here. I thought perhaps there was another event in the hotel, that would be a reasonable explanation and that was not the case, basically untrained waitstaff and absolutely NO concern for small requests such as syrup, butter, utensils as not one was addressed ever. Nice young man, untrained and that falls squarely on managements shoulders, I only hope he finds a place where he can shadow a professional waiter and see how it's done. But, food quality was excellent and Bloody Marys were good. My review reflects a positive kitchen and a management issue that may need a TV show to fix!

Seeing as there hasn't been a review of this joint in years I feel I need to do my part to get Rhinecliff's restaurant up to where it should be.
Great ambiance, a plus if you catch the jazz on Sunday, friendly staff and servers and the food was fresh and delicious.
      Five stars, friends.

After giving this place three chances over the past month I feel it's only fair to give them two stars. The service has been subpar all three times, but the food was pretty good the first two times so I won't drop it down to one star.

Tonight's meal was bland, uninspired, cooked to the wrong temperatures, and underwhelming to say the least. The service was short and inattentive to our needs. Bread came without butter, the daily specials were offered and then 86'd, yet somehow the next table got to order them.

It seems that they cater to a specific clientele and if you don't fit the mold you are unwelcome.

We will not be going back- there are too many good restaurants in the area to waste our time and money here.

I've been coming up here every summer for a few years. Always had a dinner or breakfast or brunch at The Rhinecliff. I have had some 'meh' service and some mediocre food there over the years but I was never repulsed...to the tune of "I cannot come here again" until last Saturday. To start, the waiter was sleepwalking through his shift. Jejune. There were choices with the sides and he didn't ask us. Granted, "white or wheat" is not the most important question in the world, but how about asking it? He brought the meals and walked away before we noticed there were no utensils. He brought curdled milk and curdled cream for the coffee, which, of course, proceeded to ruin each coffee. He never once came by to ask how anything was. I heard a woman near us asking him to have her ketchup replaced and he asked "why?" and she said "because it has black stuff inside." I could see there was about an inch of ketchup left in the bottom of her Heinz bottle so I presume she discovered mold or whatever happens to opened ketchup when it is left unrefrigerated in heat and humidity. But why did he need to ask her "why?" Just replace the ketchup. Then my spouse who was eating with me texted me from the table to "stop eating now, get the check, and leave." I knew something bad was up so I did as told. We had both ordered eggs ("timbuktu" and an omelet) that had cheddar in them...and the cheddar had dead fruit flies cooked into it. Sorry, if you're a restauranteur and you get to the point where you bake flies into your food, you need a complete overhaul of your processes, procedures, training, and food handling. We didn't say a thing because the waiter seemed dead behind the eyes and I had already witnessed him give attitude to the woman about the moldy ketchup. Meanwhile, the breakfast was included with the hotel stay, so what would the point have been? I could never have handled a re-do because by the time I let the though of cooked flies get into my head, I could not eat there again. Sometimes the best thing to do with a bad experience is just leave and never go back. This place needs to get it together or just stop serving food and stick to booze.

We ate at the restaurant for the wedding we attended and also had breakfast the next morning. Both were served family style and I have no complaints. We had the salmon, beef short ribs, and chicken. Breakfast was typical eggs, bacon, etc. all the food we tried was delicious. The mini crab cake balls served during the cocktail hour were the hit of the day for sure.

One of the worst restaurant experiences ever. Slow service, surprising substitutes because the kitchen didn't have enough food or not all the ingredients listed on the menu could be found in the dish. We assumed that the restaurant is about to close their doors for good.

My friends and I have brunch every Sunday. We love finding a couple of places that we can go to over and over that never disappoint. The Rhinecliff Hotel's Jazz Brunch is definitely that!!

The cocktails (Pink Lady) are smart and fresh (real egg white in the sour mix) and have that perfect 1920s feel to them.

The entrees are delicious and reasonably priced. The staff is as fun to chat with as they are dedicated to providing us a quality dining experience.

We're there the first Sundays of the month...at our special table...say hi...trust me - you'll know us when you hear us!!! :-)

Had Sunday jazz brunch with friends. Great waterfront view that is completely covered! Rained like cats and dogs but we were completely dry.

Food was pretty good, can't say it was superb. Corn beef hash is homemade good and Eggs Benedict are 3/5 good. Coffee is 4/5.
