The atmosphere and food are great. The staff is even better!
Alexis, Rayan, Carol and Mandy went over and above to make sure our company party was wonderful!
I can't say enough about their high level of service and making our event enjoyable! We will have our next event here for sure!
Thanks to all of you!

Happy St. Paddy's Day! Less insane the Hap's Irish Pub, but still a great place to toast our ancestors and the Emerald Isle. Apologies for the fish and chips, but they were a must for my husband! We did have an Irish mule and a Jamison.

Hi Peg! Glad you enjoyed the Pub vibe and the award-winning Fish and Chips! Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
- May 29, 2023Updated review
A long overdue upgrade.
My lukewarm review of the Pub is more than a decade old, and our regular visits to this restaurant over time, standing alone, suggest a higher value to us and argues for the higher rating.
But beyond that, the Pub was just one of a small handful of restaurants that helped to save us from losing our minds during the first year of the pandemic: The excellent shaded patio with well-spaced tables made for seemingly safe pre-vaccination dining, and the staff, which for a long time has been great in this price range, never faltered during those early pandemic months like so many other restaurants' did.
Generally, the Pub's fish and chips really are a special item: easily the best version in town that I'm familiar with. Among the other Brit items, the bangers & mash and the shepherd's pie are solid. I'm a big fan of both the fried and grilled chicken sandwiches, too, and I like that you can get a fair-sized green salad (among several other items) as a side without an upcharge.
The beer list has better variety than average, although I wish it had more British stuff.
Speaking of British, I'm not nearly as concerned as I used to be with the lack of British "authenticity" as I was way back then. And having spent a week-plus in Scotland just a few years back, I'd say the reality is that the Pub gets closer to a real pub than just about any other place in the city.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Mar 7, 2010Previous reviewIf you've been to Britain or even a larger U.S. city, the Pub at Rookwood Mews, along with some of the other pubs operated by the Tavern Restaurant Group (e.g. Nicholson's), is likely to have a phony-baloney, Epcot feel. (Why are the waiters wearing kilts when the restaurant seems otherwise to be trying to affect an English atmosphere?) However, considering that the Rookwood branch is located in a mall and near such monuments of gastronomy as Bucca di Beppo and Max & Erma's, I suppose this is to be expected.
That said, the Pub is not a bad choice for a casual drink and meal. Some of the Brit-influenced menu items--bangers & mash and Shepherd's Pie, for instance--are hearty and filling plates of food. (I can't vouch for their authenticity, not having had that stuff in during a single, brief UK trip.) The fish and chips, while not as good as what you'd get in Britain, are better than what you find on most bar menus around town. (The kitchen actually attempts to emulate the crisp, crusty batter that you get in England, and it is actually good when you dive in, but as some others suggest here, the batter gets a bit soggy before you can finish your fish....)
Some of the non-Brit stuff, however, like the Cuban sandwich, is subpar. (The wife says that the portobello sandwich was lame, too.)
Draft-beer list is really nice, with a good selection of British Isles-stuff. Only after I'd ordered my Belhaven Scottish Ale this last time did we notice that the Pub is now offering a bunch of draft beers from Brew Dog, which is a large indie brewer in Scotland whose stuff is excellent. - Stacy G.Cincinnati, OH0515Feb 20, 2024Updated review
This has always been one of my favorite places to eat. But on Saturday my husband and I went for lunch and the service was so so slow. The young girl was to busy looking at her phone to wait on us and the food that came out was cold. I had a grilled cheese which was kinda burnt and cold. I was so hungry-Because it took so long I didn't send it back. I did tell the waitress at the end because I felt the kitchen should know. It would have been nice if she gave us some sort of discount!!!

Chill place , cool vibes , friendly staff, great collection of beer , scotch , whiskey and other spirits for a decent price. Food was tasty. English theme pub. Reminded me of London! Must try ! Plenty parking spots available lot of shopping stores near by. Great location to hang out with a group of friends.

A solid place for fish and chips! (And a beer) Who knew?? Here's a tip: The smaller order was plenty, amost too much for me. Next time I'll split the larger one with a friend. Also, I got broccoli on the side with the gouda sauce.... so good!

Tried this restaurant for the first time during Cincinnati Burger Week, and now I think I'll have to return for their regular menu options. The burger was thick and cooked perfectly to my liking, with a decadent bordelaise cheese sauce and "chips". Service was on time and they were very friendly.
The patio looked welcoming and great for small groups, I'd love to sit out there on a nice day while enjoying some of their pub food!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Earl H.Cincinnati, OH0161Mar 15, 2024
The Pub is great, the fish and chips are the best in town, in my opinion. Fun decor, little too loud some evening but a great place.

Friday, Jan 26 my brother and I went to the pub for dinner.
I had the fried chicken dinner.
When it arrived I was very surprised at what I was seeing.
KFC is well known for giving their customers the smallest pieces of chicken in the world but they would feel shame and embarrassment if they gave anyone what I received.
Live and learn, I felt that I ordered it so I ate it.
Then, I ordered the fish dinner since I didn't feel like I had eaten anything at all.
We didn't see our server much while we were there so I stopped another server and described the chicken dinner.
The chicken was two pieces of flat boneless chicken meat about 3/8" thick and about the same size as my two year old grandson's hand.
I was told, it sounds like they had given me the chicken from a couple of sliders instead of the chicken breasts.
That sounds about right and it's even more pathetic that they have an employee working in the kitchen who would mistake two chicken sliders in an order for a Fried Chicken Dinner.
So then, our server brought our bills and we each paid with a brand new $25.00 Gift Card and a credit card to cover the balance.
After he brought our credit cards back we noticed we both still owed the full amount.
We asked someone to find him and tell him we needed to talk to him.
We were told that he said he was too busy.
So, this person asked what we wanted to talk to him about and we explained.
Then he came and told us that each of our Gift Cards rang up for only .01 cent and he didn't return the Gift Cards.
He said, he was too busy to tell us about it so he charged each of our credit cards for the full amount.
My best guess is, he was planning to keep the $50 in Gift Cards as part of his tip.
The next day, I contacted The Pub with the contact button on their website. I explained our experience on the previous evening.
It's been almost 3 weeks since I contacted them and they have never bothered to respond.
Update;
Shannon, from Pub Guest Management
responded that I should send an email with more info because my web response was never received.
I responded directly to the email given.
It's been more than 3 weeks with no response from Shannon.
I need to remove the 1 star that I gave, this place is even more pathetic than I thought.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

I've ate here a few times . They used to give fried pickles on the side of their burgers . . . Please go back to doing that .
I like their welsch dip which is their version of a French dip but on a pretzel bun . So good and the meat is juicy!
The price is a bit expensive at 17$ but the portioning isn't bad for it if you get fries or roasted potatoes as a side.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
