Oh well...they were starting to slip in quality anyway. Being stingy with shit. Charging extra for what should really automatically come with a potato. Not the same Potato Shack I remembered before leaving Texas.


Gotta find a new spot for times I be on that baked potato grind.

Wow, I used to be such a fan of potato shack. The BBQ potato with sausage will literally have me drooling. If you order in, their wait time is very inconsistent. Some people will receive their orders in 10 minutes while some will wait 40 minutes. One time, I came in & ordered to go (BBQ of course!), and I received the potato.. With no BBQ sauce. Seriously? That's the whole point of the BBQ potato!

They recently moved locations to behind the trad, and I'm even more disappointed. This time, I ordered my usual, and the potato only came with cheese & sausage and a LITTLE bit of BBQ sauce. Where are the other fixings?! Compare my posted picture to previous BBQ potatoes, and you can physically see the difference. The picture was taken after I requested for more BBQ sauce.

I recommend going to the other potato shack locations.

I love Potato Shack! You get SO much food for so cheap! One potato is about $6-7 and I wasnt even able to finish half of it. My favorite would have to be the BBQ Beef or the Hot Buffalo. YUM yuUmmmMmm :)

4 stars because the wait can suck sometimes... it fluctuates. One time, my potato came out in 5 minutes and 1 hour in another.

I recently tried a potato, the spicy chicken, and it was very good. I don't usually like baked potatos but this was actually something I could eat (probably because of the hot sauce).

Their breakfast burritos. They're excellent. I didn't realize we had good breakfast around Northgate, but we do. They are very very big and they don't get much cheaper. I will be coming here more for breakfast than lunch.

Potato Shack Owns.
Being allergic to wheat and a variety of other things. Potato is one thing I'm not allergic too, it is right up my alley. When I heard there was a spot that served potatoes different ways, I got super excited. So it's across from A&M, and it's real divey, bathrooms were falling apart, water dripping... you sit on pic-nic tables to eat, fill up your own soda kind of joint.

Though when I took my first bite of a BBQ potato, wow, it melted in my mouth, I was so happy it turned out to be good. The potato was well cooked, bbq was tasty, and it all went well. I can't wait to go back and try a new one, the staff is helpful, the place could use an update and cleaner environment. It is however a potato "shack" ha! Go try it!

I came to college station to visit my boyfriend but let's be real... For potato shack... To only find it vacated. No chairs, tables, kitchen appliances, nothing.

I'm devasted. RIP Potato Shack.

The hot wing potato, when good, is amazing. The service is usually mediocre at best, and they ask for tip which is a bit annoying since they don't really do anything besides their job. Normally I would give potato shack three stars but tonight I went for the friday night special and had a terrible experience.

I walk in and there was no line so I thought I had gotten lucky because it is usually very crowded on friday nights. Everyone was sitting down but with no food so I assumed they were making their potatoes and it shouldn't take longer than 15 minutes. Well it took 50 minutes to get my potato after ordering it. Furthermore, my potato wasn't cooked properly, there were hard uncooked chunks inside it. Also there was only half as much chicken on it as usual. It will probably be a while before I go here again after this experience.

I love Potato Shack's food but their service quality is TERRIBLE.

I once ordered just a plain potato with only butter and cheese to go and upon returning home, the order was all wrong. It also looked extremely unappetizing, resembling cat vomit...

I called the store and asked them to please refund me and place the correct order, to which they said I'd have to bring the potato back to get a refund and that they had run out of potatoes so they couldn't fix my order.

This place is called Potato Shack...so I'm not entirely sure how they would run out of potatoes since it wasn't even that late at night.

The entire time on the call asking for a refund, they were extremely rude and unaccommodating. I won't be frequenting this particular location again anytime soon...I'll make the drive to the Wellborn location instead.

POOR SERVICE! Be prepared to wait two hours if ordering for delivery.

Called during lunch service on a Friday at noon to order two potatoes to be delivered to a place on-campus (just across the street). The gentleman on the phone asked me if the 1-hour wait would be okay...not a problem, it's busy, we get it. Gave him our order, explained how to get to our building, and thanked him.

Come 1:00...no food, 1:15...no food, 1:25...no food. At about 1:35 p.m., I get a phone call from the guy stating he hadn't left yet and asked me to explain again where we were located, which i kindly do. By this time, the other person is getting irate; I ask her to remain calm and let her vent.

Now you would think that our food would be here shortly...nope, not the case. Another 25 minutes and he finally shows up! Two hours, starving, waiting for some nourishment and when I open my potato, they have forgotten my ranch (I'm a Texan, you don't mess with my ranch!). At this point, it's time to complain.

Moral of the experience--two hours is too long to wait for a large, yummy potato. Sorry Potato Shack, but you have lost a customer for good due to your lack of service.

(PS-this is not the first time that they have taken two hours on a delivery or messed up our potato orders. This is an assessment of the overall experience from the Northgate Potato Shack location.)

Given the fact that this place is a CS staple for cheap potatoes on a Friday night, but they need to learn a lot on how to make food, to the customers requests.

We go here every other week, and my wife always orders the same thing, veggie potato ADD jalapenos. As for me, I order any potato that catches my eye. The last 4 times that we got the potatoes to go, and 3 of the times her potato was messed up.

First to go order: Her potatoes has no jalapenos.

Second to go order: Made the potato right

Third to go order: Her potato had pulled pork on it too

Forth to go order: Her potato didn't have jalapenos but it they put broccoli on it.

The potatoes are definately good and is definately comfort food. However, this place needs a lot of work. DOUBLE CHECK YOUR TO GO ORDERS!!!
