The Old Bag of Nails Pub

This is the newest Old Bag of Nails and is certainly worth checking out. It's a spacious restaurant with an old-English vibe (unlike some of the others I've been to and my favorite thus far). The food was satisfying, and the service was great. I got the french onion soup and a side salad while my BF ordered the fish and chips. We came on Sunday for lunch, so it all worked out well for us.

Everything hit the spot! Normally we don't venture out to chain restaurants but Old Bag never fails to deliver. My wife was craving a pretzel with cheese and that's how we landed here!

I asked for a glass of the Riesling. It's unfortunate this has been the third time I two weeks where I begin to feel impatient waiting on my glass to be served. It's frustrating when I can see the glass sitting on the bar waiting to be served to me, but the waitress is busy tending to other patrons. I sucked it up as soon as I bit into the pretzel though.

The overall vibe is a hole in the wall watering hole. Very quaint. Great food. And everybody is friendly. You can tell that this is a local Hilliard favorite given the amount of regulars that were there!

If you're craving some classic pub/bar food this place is the spot. I was hankering for a good pretzel and beer cheese and I got just that. We were greeted immediately upon walking into the restaurant and sat down. Our waitress sadly took about 5 minutes to greet us and about another 5 to bring us waters. The service started off very slow, but she seemed to get in the groove as the meal went on and was very apologetic. Truly, I would ho back for that delicious pretzel alone! But for my main course I got a Cesar salad with blackened chicken and a French onion soup. The Cesar was delicious but honestly I could have done without the soup. My husband got the fish and chips, which they are known for and I can see why. They were so tasty with a perfect fish to breading ratio, and the steak fries were awesome!

I visited from Louisville with a friend and her boys that lives a short drive from the restaurant. Street parking is available, including a small lot slightly behind the building.

With no reservation on a Friday night, we got a booth right away. We had friendly, attentive server during the visit.

Appetizers were $2 off so we ordered the pretzel with beer cheese. So so good!

Kids meals were reasonable and the boys picked the cheeseburger. My friend was stuck between two choices and our server gave a thumbs up the Philly cheesesteak. I could smell fish and chips from other tables and sitting inside Old Bag of Nails, it seemed like the right dish. Big portion and enjoyed the tarter sauce.

Good for families and groups.

Nice place in downtown hilliard I'd say this is one of the best restaurants you can get your food quick and the fish sticks just are amazing. Plus, the food isn't really pricey like some of the other restaurants I'll give this five stars, because seriously their fish sticks cannot be topped.

Hubby and I decided to drop in on a Friday night, We are bar people so love to sit in the bar area have some draft beer and good bar food. I have been to other Old Bad of Nails Pub's and enjoyed the food but his was not the case.

Parking is a bit tricky, very small lot behind the bar, otherwise you will need to find street parking.

Potato skins were small and dry, almost like the skins were burnt . The wings were good size but kind of crunchy it was odd, they weren't horrible just not that good.

The waitress was wonderful, and they had an ok draft beer selection. I did get some beer cheese for my fries and must say the beer cheese was to die for. Many moons ago they had sauerkraut balls on the menu which were amazing wish they would bring those back.

So not good or bad just average. I guess they are known for their fish and chips but I do not eat fish so maybe that dish is really good...

Love getting their fish and chips here. My partner got a steak sandwich. It was all delicious and I did a pick up order. It was ready to go right when I got there.

We love Old Bag in Hilliard. But... we tried one of their new menu items- calamari. It was not good at all. 12.00 for 5 pieces of calamari that really looked like mozzarella sticks! I have never had calamari like this . Probably not a keeper on your menu!

With the Memorial Tournament in Dublin we headed to Hilliard to discover The Old Nag of Mails Hilliard. Great menu for a restaurant known for its fish. I went with the Shrimp Po Boy and was not disappointed! A lot of shrimp with each bite. My wife got the fish sandwich and she was really pleased with it and actually had half for lunch the next day. Great atmosphere and super service. Not rap happy with the beer selection (expected more local flare) but found a good pairing for the Po Boy. Highly recommend and will be back.

First of all, I have no complaints about the food. My burger cooked was cooked perfectly and very good... But the upcharges are ridiculous! $6.00 extra for a third patty... And it comes with one side; however, you get charged 3.00 for anything other than fries and then you don't get the fries...So three dollars for 1/2 a cup of broccoli! Grilled onions are 50 cents extra but raw is free apparently... Almost half of my bill is extra charges! I did tell the server and she said since it was the first day of the sale they would take the 3 dollars off one time... But 23.65 for a burger and broccoli and a soda? And I'm sure they'll upcharge me again if I return since this was only a one time service...If you upcharge me for broccolli and it comes with fries (or one side) technically you owe me fries...Right?
