I went there yesterday for dinner with my family
And it was my first time there
And also happened to be my birthday
First and foremost , As soon as I walked in, I was greeted promptly and nicely by people at the front desk
Who immediately walked me to a table
Minutes later, our Server , named Sidney came over and introduced themselves , and a really amazing journey began there
Sidney helped us pick out a menu with some great recommendations
And I must say, I enjoyed every facet of all the courses , but what made everything so wonderful was the amazing service that I received from Sidney
We had a four course meal on every course was absolutely exceptional
They definitely made a customer out of me
And I will most certainly ask for Sidney every time I go there
Thank you melting pot and thank you, Sidney
For making my birthday dinner nothing short of incredibleHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 14, 20241 check-in
My husband and I came here for Long Island restaurant week. We were always curious about this chain. We won't be coming back again.
The salads are fine enough - I got the house and my husband got the California.
The cheddar green goddess fondue was too liquidy and buttery? I'm not sure what but it didn't agree with our stomachs.
The entrees are awkward to eat and come with hardly any protein for the price. Only the salmon and shrimp cooked well. The tuna, beef, and duck were nasty. The mojo seasoning was basically really salty chicken broth with garlic.
The salty dark chocolate fondue wasn't bad but my husband suspects it was mixed with butter ugh
No desire to ever come here again. The one pro is that the service was kind and attentive. The ambiance is loud and the burner makes a weird noise. Expensive for the quality of the food.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Ray S.Seaford, NY64143120Feb 3, 2024
All I can say about the
Melting Pot is that I won't stop the world and melt with you.
The Melting Pot turned out to be one of the worst culinary experiences of my or my wife's lifetime. Nothing here was worth the price of admission.
Our experience was highlighted by bad service, a poor explanation of the menu, all of which were just an "appetizer" for what bad food was coming.
Their "signature" dish is the cheese fondue, which is made on the electric stove at the table and made with plastic looking cheese, and garlic.
It was accompanied by stale pretzel bread and a minuscule amount grapes, apple slices and hard uneatable broccoli and carrots. Not very appetizing.
We also ordered the charcuterie board, which was made using cheap, low quality meats, that were straight from the
"Swiss Colony" catalog and not worth eating.
The main course was basically a Lipton soup mix, where you toss in a bevy of meats, shrimp and vegetables and let them boil in the broth.
Totally tasteless and a tremendous disappointment.
Btw, "buyer beware" they automatically add a 20% tip to your bill and then when you're paying, ask if you want to leave a tip. Disgraceful.
So if you like bad service, plastic cheese fondue, (served with stale bread, and vegetables), a very bad charcuterie board and a tasteless "Lipton Soup Mix, this is your kind of place.
As for my wife and myself, we shall not return.

Me and my family have been coming to the Farmingdale Melting Pot location for years. Joe was our waiter and went above and beyond to make our celebration special with a custom, hand crafted dessert!! At first we planned on ordering the Chocolate Explosion package with sparklers, which was great , but Joe surprised us with this absolutely amazing and thoughtful presentation of a Rice Krispy Treat number inspired dessert that blew us away. Thank you Joe for the best 100K milestone celebration It was extra sweet with the Chocolate Explosion and Custom Dessert (the best of both worlds!!) Since we booked this recent reservation over the phone, I wrote the Open Table review from on of our bookings in November. But the celebration was April 23rd

The food and portions were not great. We did the bigger night out which was over $150.00. We started with the spinach and artichoke fondue.... it was good. But the items to dip in it were ehh... raw cauliflower and broccoli, grapes and apples (kind of weird with spinach and artichokes), stale bread and pretzel pieces and some tostitos chips.
About 45 minutes later we got 2 salads....the wait was horrible especially because I am pregnant and was very hungry!
Another 45 minutes later we got our main meal. It was four tiny pieces of salmon, chicken, 2 types of steak, some shrimp and a small lobster tail. Served with a bunch of sauces that seemed like they were out of a bottle.
My husband and I tried to cook the food super quickly because at this point we were there for over 2 hours and needed to get home. We also needed more butter (we did the cast iron grill as our cooking style) and it took about 20 minutes for it to come and our food was finished by the time it arrived.
We ended up getting our fondue to go and it was a tiny little to go side cup with mushy strawberries, stale waffle pieces and a few other things to dip.
It ended up being close to $250.00 with drinks and a tip. Very disappointing and expensive. Will never be back.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aaron A.GARDEN CITY P, NY02419Dec 9, 2023
Review is for our server - Rebecca -
We have had great experiences here in the past with other servers but this time we were served and then left for over a half hour at which point we asked our server from our previous visit where our salad appetizer was. Our fondue was also quite watery - which was unusual but we had no server to ask if it could be fixed.
Finally got to order our dessert fondue through one of the managers who came to our table (about 45-50 minutes into our meal) at which point we had still not been checked in on by our server.
Unusual experience as we eat here on a regular basis and usually have very friendly and very attentive servers - hoping next time is betterHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Teresa B.Massapequa Park, NY0134Apr 14, 2024
Good evening
Last night we had dinner with friends at The Melting Pot. The dinner was great, we enjoyed all the courses. The place is very comfortable , I loved the red little lights in the chandeliers. It was such a fun experience. Our server, Lauren was wonderful. She made the experience so much fun. You could tell how much she truly enjoys her job. Our friends were celebrating their anniversary and Lauren made us all feel special. We look forward to coming back. Make sure you come hungry because there is a lot of delicious food and the chocolate fondue at the end is AMAZING.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 11, 2023
My girlfriends and I had a great time here. The food was delicious and a lot of fun to play around with. Splurge on a four course meal and stay awhile.
The real MVP goes to Morgan who guided us throughout our whole meal. His thoughtfulness and attention to detail did not go unnoticed. He is very good at what he does. Would 100% recommend and request him in the future.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Rhea G.Harrisburg, PA01May 4, 2024
I wanted to give a shout out to Becca at the Farmingdale melting pot. She was an excellent server. She made us feel welcomed and accommodated. Its nice to know that there are still employees that care about good costumer service.

I reserved with Opentable and noted to write happy anniversary on the plate and it was beautifully written and was wished a happy anniversary by the waitress once being seated. The food was good and service was amazing.
