Q:
Would Orchestra row T or front row Mezzanine be better seats for Lion King in Minskoff?
A:
Orchestra row T. The animals walk down the isles to the stage. It's awesome!!

Going with my girlfriend this December. I saw there was no real dress code but as this is my gf's dream trip that I surprised her with (she's a major theatre nerd) would we be out of place dressing up a little bit or were a lot of people dressed up?
A:
Older folk wear a blazer. Kids wear lion king swag. Smart people dress comfortable as you're gonna be in those seats for 2+ hours. Keep in mind it'll get hot then cold then hot. Just depends on if the heat or a/c is blasting. Dress comfortably and… more

This is one of the heavy hitters on Broadway. No matter how many words you read, pictures you view, or reviews you hear.... it'll never compare to experiencing this majestic musical in person.
The costumes are intricate, the stage sets are colorful, and you'll go through many emotions throughout the performance.
The only other thing that needs to be said is......go and see The Lion King. It'll be memorable, exhilarating, and awe inspiring.Helpful 12Thanks 4Love this 14Oh no 0 - Dec 28, 2023
This was a bucket list broadway show that I've always wanted to see. My husband got us tickets as my Christmas gift. He saw it 10 years back with his family and they thought it was ok, but not great. I came in with high expectations, since ive seen certain parts of the show performed live in CA and in NYC and the circle of life performance always moved me.
The show was very much in line with the movie down to the same lines, that in the beginning of the show I wondered if I was too old for this show now. The circle of life performance didn't feel as powerful as I've seen it performed elsewhere. There were certain points where the dancers didn't seem to be in line with each other. The second half of the performance, specially the shadowland performance was moving, the actress pearl khwezi gave a powerful performance that made the show. The majority of the cast sounded exactly like the characters in the movie. The theatre is beautiful and majestic and gets you pumped to see the show. This was a bucket list activity that I was glad I was able to check off.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Melissa C.New York, NY0462Apr 7, 20241 check-in

We saw The Lion King on Broadway in 2003 and again 21 years later it was just as fun and both an audio and visually pleasing experience. The costumes continue to be the stand out and the story line is familiar but fun.

There's a lottery you can enter for cheaper tickets. I've been entering that for several months and finally won. This is the largest theater I've ever been to, you. Go up flight of stairs to get to orchestra level. The nostalgia, the songs, the story is all pretty true to the movie. But the real gem and stand out of this musical is the costumes, scenery, puppetry. This is my first Disney musical and there were so many kids around - lots of talking during the show - but just embrace their energy and wonderment! For any musical lover, you must have this on your list.
Disney does have its marketing/merchandising down though hahaHelpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 78197Sep 23, 2023
Lion king was the first movie I watched when I was kid so I was really excited to watch it at Broadway. The show was beautiful with such good actors. It's a long show, but I enjoyed every minute of it. It's a classic that everyone who likes the Lion King movie should watch it.

The Lion King is a Broadway musical based on the 1994 Disney animated film of the same name. The musical features music by Elton John, lyrics by Tim Rice, a book by Roger Allers and Irene Mecchi, and additional music and lyrics by Lebo M, Mark Mancina, Jay Rifkin, Julie Taymor, and Hans Zimmer. The musical tells the story of Simba, a young lion who must embrace his role as the rightful king of the Pride Lands after his father, Mufasa, is killed by his uncle, Scar.
I went to see The Lion King with my group of 5 friends. We were all big fans of the animated film, so we were really excited to see the musical. We were not disappointed! The musical was absolutely amazing. The music, the dancing, the costumes, the sets, and the puppets were all incredible. The story was also very well told. We all had a great time and we would definitely recommend The Lion King to anyone who is looking for a great Broadway show.
After the show, we went to the souvenir shop and bought some gifts for our friends and family. We got t-shirts, mugs, and keychains. We were all very happy with our purchases.
Overall, we had a great time at The Lion King. It was a truly unforgettable experience.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 1703991134Aug 23, 2023
I cried y'all. I was blown away. And I mean I have always wanted to go see the Lion King, but as I settled in and sat I was like oh wait this is the movie from the 3rd grade. Like will I be able to sit thru this.
Within the first 2 minutes of the show beginning, a larger than life actor came up on my right and shook the essence of my soul. I felt a combination of fear and amazement that I can only describe as AWE. I immediately had to hold back tears because in my little mind the amount of creativity and originality was overwhelming and astounding. I thought it was incredible and found myself singing songs in my head that I have never heard in my life and trying my darn best not to sing along the ones that I knew.
My teens and I were gifted tickets and I ended up sitting alone but among a group of other black moms just like me which was relaxing. They have a strict no recording policy. And I was a bit disappointed that my children didn't enjoy their first time on Broadway but I hope they never forget it.
I bought a margarita that was absolutely GROSS like omg what was that but I really wanted the cup lol damage was like $23.
I won't say much more, it's clean, organized, absolutely do not drive there getting thru the crowds of ppl taking pictures outside the theatre to get inside was actually very difficult on foot. I would absolutely go again. I thought it was one of the most beautiful things I have ever experienced in my whole entire life and am so grateful that my eyes could witness that artistry.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0
