This cozy and riverfront cabin is the cleanest cabin I've been to. It's so wonderful and quiet, a perfect place to get away from everything. You only hear the river flowing, the birds, and sometimes the train. There are lots of stars, too.
Cathy is a wonderful host. The kitchen is very well equipped and a grill is available for use. There are plenty of fish in the river to catch. There's a boat launch close to the cabin within walking distant. There is no cell phone reception, only free wifi available.
I drove from Seattle, WA, and it was a great road trip. I will definitely come back to this place again.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Boris S.Capitola, CA94111Jul 4, 2011First to Review

This is an excellent place for a get-away and relaxation. Very scenic and quiet, and just 3 miles from Clark Fork to the west, and Montana to the west. The cabin is wonderful, very clean, comfortable, and perfect for a couple, or family with 1-2 small children. Cathy (the host) has thought of everything - a nice small kitchen that has everything, a BBQ with utensils and charcoal, nice covered porch and chairs, fire pit, etc. You will not be disappointed - my highest recommendation. Make sure to eat at the Pantry in Clark Fork!

What a great base to explore Northern Idaho and Western Montana! My husband, daughter and I were looking for a nice place to stay while visiting family and friends in the area. The cabin is very clean, cozy, and well stocked. There is wifi (but who needs it?) and the kitchen was well stocked. The deck is great for watching the birdlife, fish and butterflies. There is a fire pit that we enjoyed while looking at the CLEAR sky filled with stars. We were only minutes from beautiful Lake Pend Oreille. Cathy was happy to help with all our needs and questions. Great place!!

Beautiful area and a very clean small cabin right on the water but not exactly a place for more than two people. We have 3 kids and a dog and were planning to set up a tent outside the cabin but the area was smaller and not as secluded (while the general area is secluded, there are many other cabins very close) as expected so we were not able too. While it is pet friendly, pets must be on a leash outside and we did not clarify that for our trip and it made it more difficult. The bank is steep that goes down to the water; much steeper than we thought and for 3 children trying to fish it was not an ideal place. We should've asked more questions about the area but it was a good learning experience as we have not camped much.
Cathy was a great host and even gave us advice for other places that were more accommodating for a family of 5 with a dog that we were able to set up a tent for free. The views were spectacular and we even saw a couple bald eagles. Overall the experience was great and we did get to fish and relax.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jojo K.Portland, OR01Oct 10, 2013
The Last Resort was exactly what we'd envisioned when we began planning our trip to Sandpoint. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised to find that The Last Resort was even nicer than in the pictures. The Clark Fork River is right out front, the views are fantastic and the owner is friendly and accessible. In addition to comfort, the cozy cabin is just a short drive away from Ross Creek Cedar forest and a slightly-less-short drive away from downtown Sandpoint. The bed was comfortable, the cabin was clean and the kitchen was stocked, so we couldn't have been more pleased. This place comes highly recommended!
