Awesome hidden place. We came here to watch Game 6 of the 2015 Stanley Cup Finals. The place is huge, with ample indoor and outdoor seating. They had many tvs playing various games. We ordered a few drinks and apps and were there for about 4 hours total just hanging out to watch the game. We never felt rushed to leave. The atmosphere is a great place that makes it easy to hang out. Also, this was a first date place, so it worked out well because it was low key.
They have many different beers and cider. And the apps were good. We shared the truffle popcorn, which I highly recommend, and also the nachos. Only thing was that our waitress seemed a bit frazzled, but it didn't matter because we weren't in a rush.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 6, 2023
Love this bar! Local to me on the upper east side so it's convenient and close. But the bar itself has a very cool feel to it...exposed brick wall, friendly staff, big room in the back as well as an outside area once it warms up again. Been here many times. the food is decent... they used to have a dollar oysters special at happy hour, but unfortunately, I don't think they do it anymore. Still a great bar though!

Great spot on the UES, with a really lovely beer garden. I met a friend here to catch up over drinks. The seats outside were packed on a Saturday afternoon, but they have open windows by the outdoor area so you can still get fresh air. You could try to make a reservation if you know it will be busy.
I got the Berry the Hatchet cocktail, which was light and refreshing. I wish that there had been stronger notes of vanilla, though, which was what had drawn me to the drink. This was recommended by the bartender, and it was good but not mind-blowing.
The menu did have a large variety of other drinks that seemed perfect for a summer day. I also thought the cocktail was well-priced at $14. During happy hours, their cocktails are $10.
The service was friendly and fast. The table we were sitting at was a bit sticky which was less ideal, but the place was really nice otherwise!
I would come back to try more of their cocktails, as well as their food and definitely try for a spot outside next time!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 25, 20241 check-in
For a neighborhood pub, The Jeffrey exceeded my expectations in terms of the variety of drinks and food options! Came here with my coworkers and as a cocktail girlie, I started off with the Stone White Sangria which featured Pinot Grigio with lemon soda, pear, and peach flavors. It was sweet but not overwhelming. The Penicilin was also very tasty with its ginger and lemon flavors. The margarita was definitely strong!
For food, the pork melt au jus sandwich was very solid. The ciabatta bread was soft with lots of rosemary, and the shredded pork was well-seasoned and tender for the most part. The au jus made the sandwich a little too salty but did concentrate a lot of the flavors. I just wish they had more gruyere cheese. Their fries were very tasty! I'm not usually a fries person but these hand cut fries had a good skin to potato ratio, crispy, and salted nicely. You can pick from sea salt, rosemary sea salt, old bay, or truffle parmesan.
I was surprised to see that they have pho taco amongst another staples like al pastor and birria. Decent amount of options for vegetarians as well. Drinks and food came out really quick. Vibes were casual but I liked the dim lighting, wooden high top tables, and the graffiti wall. Overall had a great time and definitely see us coming back!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 2796572465Dec 1, 2023
RATING: 7.5/10
PRO TIP: Solid place for drinks, and their well drinks aren't actually half bad.
WHISKEY SOUR
Really impressed by this, love the luxardo cherry addition and candied ginger, and it was a really smooth whiskey sour with a bit of froth on top. Wasn't expecting it but pleasantly surprised. Would easily drink like 3 of these and my go to drink is a whiskey sour.
OYSTERS
Not sure these were the freshest, but they have a deal.
The place is also quite spacious and you'll probably find room if you're nearby looking to just drop in with a group and spend some time catching up. There's a big room in the back they use for private events sometimes. It can get kind of loud overall. The ambience is casual and the service was quick.

My cousin recommended this place as a good meeting spot when we were still being cautious in 2021 and eating more outdoors. It was a good choice - the outside area was high top tables and chairs, wasn't too crowded at all. The drink menu with fun with some interesting choices of beers and ciders. We did end up eating a little bit and ended up having a pretty good time. Service was also nice and helpful in deciding what drinks to get. Bathroom inside was pretty decent for a low key bar. Overall great experience.

Two friends and I popped into the Jeffrey after work today and initially we loved the vibe! We sat on the back patio and enjoyed the beautiful spring weather but since The Jeffrey is right next to the highway there was a lot of honking and at times and it was hard to hear others at my table.
Service was slow, and it seemed like they might have been understaffed because the servers looked busy and seemed to have a lot of tables to check on.
We loved the Bee Sting but the Berry The Hatchet was too sweet for our taste.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 4933851791Oct 12, 2023
The Jeffery was a very easy place to meet a girlfriend for happy hour. I came in around 4:30 on a Thursday, I was definitely the only one there. It took several minutes before I was greeted, the assumption was probably that I was waiting for someone but I was thirsty. =)
The gentleman I was greeted by wasn't very knowledge of the menu or of happy hour deals so I didn't have much to go by. I went with a fall beer - donut cider and enjoyed it very much. We also ordered pretzels - salted and garlic/parsley along with chips and salsa. I was eyeing the truffle popcorn but the friend I was with isn't a truffle fan but I look forward to trying this the next time!
As time went on, the lights were dimmed and the place filled up to the brim! Definitely a busy place, even on a Thursday evening. Will be back and hope to make it my neighborhood spot!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - 1955882920Jan 9, 2023
We came here twice in the past couple weeks during Happy Hour. The first time, we sat at the bar near the front door and were greeted by a friendly, attentive bartender. From there, we caught views of the Roosevelt Island tram going by!
We ended up getting a couple of $6 IPAs and a dozen yummy, fresh $1 oysters from the HH menu. We also ended up getting some tacos off the regular menu. We were surprised at how tasty they were! I had a veggie which was topped with salsa and guacamole while my husband had a veggie and a buffalo chicken. My husband typically tells me his food is "fine" when we go out but he said his tacos were "really good!" That is high praise for him!
The second time, we took our college-aged daughter there to celebrate her great end of semester grades. We ended up sitting in the back room at a table. I wasn't super impressed with our server - she wasn't very friendly. We went ahead and ordered drinks but were disappointed when she told us they were out of oysters. We took a look at the menu for something else to get and tried to ask some questions about it but she seemed to be put off. In the end, we just got a couple "Sigmund Pretzels."
I understand that sometimes people have an off day but If we come back a third time, we would sit by the friendly bartender again.Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0 - 26656107Dec 7, 2023
Hole in the wall spot for good drinks and sharable plates with friends. They have a great happy hour with drinks and $1 oysters which is hard to find in the city.

Stopped in here this past Thursday sat at the bar for a change. The atmosphere in this place is always dope. I rarely go places alone but this is one place where the staff always makes you feel like you've been coming there forever.
My bartender, and I hate I cannot remember his name, very attentive and great convo as well. I didn't eat this time, but I did discover liquid gold here. They have vintage bottled beer, which I had to order once I scrolled down far enough in my phone to see the plethora of options..
I had the Allagash Mattina Rosa omg made with raspberries. A bit sour but yum! I honestly can't wait to try them all lol. #highlyrecommend
TIP: order your vintage beer in between drinks they are kept in cellar in must cool first!!!Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0Oct 15, 2022Previous reviewI was in the mood for phõ tacos and the only place I know that serves these is right here! They are good every time and every bite. I also had the chicken empanadas spicy like I like it and every bit of delicious.
Big shout out to Katie & Holly!!! They made my experience that much more pleasurable and to the bartender who was super cool
I mean what can!??? I say I love this placeJul 13, 2022Previous reviewWalking in this place is really narrow but soon as you hit the end of the bar so much space! There is even a huge outdoor area with a window bar seating with its own bar back there plus patio seating.
We stopped in here before seeing the Manhattanhenge and didn't regret one second.
Was greeted by Katie, Katey, Cady, or KT, I should of asked how to spell her name Anyway she was awesome very attentive and made sure our drinks never hit the bottom of the glass.
We just had small bites and some great drinks.
Katie suggested the frozen special which was the only drink I kept getting! Ginger and Gin works! I mean works well Frozen or on the Rocks . Had some Old Bay chips love these chips omg. And some yummy sausage in a blanket it was f---- delicious.
Long Story Short, I will be back to give them my money periodically
