The Hideaway

Tucked away near andrews airforce base, this little place has pool tables and karaoke, the space is dimly lit and spacious

I get why this is called "The Hideaway" LOL!!! GPS has you turning into KFC and it looks like that's the only thing in the parking lot, but if you look closely you see that it's quite a large lot and you need to drive behind the KFC! Clever, clever!

My friend and I arrived, and it was quite interesting that the sign said 30+ only... my buddy just made it... a few months ago and he would've been too young XD. Anyways, our IDs were checked, and then we went to the bar. We saw that all the seats were full, so we decided to grab a table. There was plenty of space, and I noticed some pool tables in the back where people were playing... nice! Upon closer inspection, I saw that it was $2 per game and there was a money machine back there. There was a big sign on the wall with the NFL game schedule and some game day deals (like $3 beers), and that was cool.

I could tell from the vibe of the spot that there wouldn't be someone coming to our table, so I went to the bar. I saw that a couple had a menu, so I asked to see it and they kindly obliged. They have GREAT prices on food! Burgers and sandwiches are literally $5+ depending on how complex they are... and there were standard bar appetizers and salads as well. Nothing super unique, but great prices for the most part. The bartender finally noticed me and asked if I was waiting to order... and when I said 'yes' she rudely told me not to stand in between people and wait in line. I had no idea there was a line (I genuinely didn't look over) and there was no sign indicating that you need to do so when the bar is full. I kindly apologized, saying it was my first time, but that initial reaction really didn't make a first impression for me. There were about 7 people in line (yikes), and it was kind of just cramming the bar space. After 5-10 minutes, the line didn't even budge... all the while, that same lady was calling out names for food, and quite honestly, the way she called them out was just furthering the not so good vibe for me. There's a way to shout kindly... you know?

There was a lady in front of us that saw we had gone straight to the bar first and saw how the bartender had treated us... she apologized on her behalf and said that normally she's not the only one working and that sometimes she acts like that but ultimately she's a nice person. As I said earlier... not a great first impression. My friend and I decided to leave since it felt like we would be in line for at least a half hour... and would most likely have to do that for every order we wanted to make. I would be willing to come back on a day when it's not going to be so crowded to give it another chance, but I felt the need to share this experience. I am not sure if it's the same owners or not, but there is another 'Hideaway' in Odenton, but I chose this one because my friend was coming all the way from VA. I'll update if the opportunity presents itself.

So I came to Maryland for the Free Her march , and we decided we wanted to go somewhere for a drink , food and some music. Myself and three of my girls chose this bar / restaurant because it was close to our hotel (as we are tourist ) First the security was soo rude it made no sense. I realized i left my ID in my room and when i mentioned i had to get it he replied " I really dont care , your not getting in " then followed us out the door and locked the place down like we were intimidating a 6' something man . I would never return or reccomend this place . It actually turned us off , probably won't be back ever .

Local bar. 3!pool tables. Band set up but none since covid. Great TV's all around and excellent sound system.

Full bar no hard seltzer. We had the fried whiting-HUGE portion-did not get it sandwich but the amount of fish could not fit into a sandwich. Lightly fried-not greasy-melts in your mouth. The old bay hot sauce-amazing!!! Tons of hushpuppies!!! Yum yum sauce also good.

Worth the drive around the parking lot to find this place. Great location! Hope to return!

Fun place to go for food and drinks. Staff is helpful friendly and protective of single ladies here.

The old bay wings are TOP TIER!!! The cheesesteak was lacking salt pepper. Nice neighborhood bar. I would go back to play pool

Sundays are the ABSOLUTE BEST !!!!! CHEF V is the perfect chef for the turn up .... Our drinks were soooooooo darn good we had to order food to accompany and bayyyyyyybe she didn't disappoint!! The fried fish is my fav but the greens and Mac n cheese and seafood salad *stomp stomp stomp * y'all better stop playing !!!!!!!

Nothing fancy but always enjoy the old school vibe, chicken wingsand drinks. Must be 30+

I use to love Hideaway but my recent visits haven't been so pleasant. There are normally 2 security guards at the door and the light skinned one is always nice and pleasant. The other tall one of darken complexion is always very rude. He constantly locks the doors, harasses me for my ID and smokes inside of the building when he promotes that this a non smoking establishment to the customers. I understand that there are rules to be followed but I've seen a lot of people turn away from your business when he's there. He's definitely not a good representation for your business. Hope this review gets into the right hands. Thank you.
