This business is closed! I drove around before realizing it's closed and now a coffee shop (which is great and recommend)

Great shop. To the women who went several times and found them not open,
they are closed the month of January.
It's posted on their website only- they should make this more easily known.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Chelsea B.Corvallis, OR205354135Jan 1, 2013First to Review
The Heirloom Room is a very well-decorated place with some really neat offerings on Cherokee street. This is not your grandma's antique shop, and it's more old meets new in an anthropologie-type style. They have furniture (couches, tables, a wardrobe, etc.) along with nick-nacks of all shapes and sizes including dishes, old rubber stamps, lamps, pillows, and various other antiques and "found" objects. They also sell what seemed to be hand made jewelry, bags, artwork and other crafted goods. The prices were on par with other shops on Cherokee (meaning a tad expensive), but that's to be expected for the location. This is a neat place to get some good eclectic and vintage-inspired decorating ideas or find that nice unique piece. It also looked as though they have a little cafe area in the back, but it didn't seem to be running when we visited.

I was in the area and decided to poke my head in The Heirloom Room and glad I did!
Now I didn't get anything but this place is a gold mind for unique trinkets and gifts. They have everything you can imagine and some really rad old items. Everything from jewelry to a super old piano!
The owners are super nice and seem to pretty much do all the work themselves. While there are lots of pricey things, there are tons of reasonably priced things as well. You don't have to drop a Benjamin if you want to antique shop here!
They also sell teas and candles and just have an overall eclectic selection. If you visit, you have to see the amazing urban greenhouse out back. It's beautiful! One last note, they have quite the selection of terrariums scattered about...very cool.
If you are a lover of antiques/vintage items or know someone who is, you must stop by the Heirloom room.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Ashleigh B.Bethany, OK3280103Apr 11, 2013
While in St. Louis, this was probably my favorite store I visited. Consequently, it made me sad that I don't live in STL and can't become a frequent patron of The Heirloom Room.
This lovely shop is part of St. Louis' famous Cherokee Street Antique District, but in my opinion its the most unique shop on the block! You walk in and you don't know where to look first, because things from every direction catch your eye! At first glance The Heirloom Room just looks like it has antiques, once you really start to look you discover that it is much more than that. They have a lot of products made by women in other countries to help them earn an income. From pillows made by Indian women, to jewelry from Kenya, this store has many unique and beautiful items that will also give you that warm feeling inside from supporting a great cause. As with all social justice products, their prices are slightly higher than if you were to just buy a pillow or jewelry at target. But as long as you go in with the understanding that you are buying quality products and helping others, the prices shouldn't bother you.
They also have a really good selection of antiques! I think they part of the store is very reasonably priced compared to other shops in the area. They have a lot of small, unique things that would be great for decoration, but they also have big furniture pieces that were in great condition.
This is definitely a store after my own heart. I'm a sucker for antiques, and trying it in with free trade and social justice causes just seals the deal. If I ever venture back to St. Louis again, you can bet this will be on my list of places to go!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Robin H.Fairview Heights, IL015Feb 9, 2017
Let me start by saying this is an awesome shop. The 2 stars is because out of at least 7 visits to this store, DURING THEIR ADVERTISED HOURS OF OPERATION, I have only been in the place ONE time! Today was my last attempt...as I stood outside the clearly closed shop, another man walked up and said this was the 5th time he had been there only to find them closed in the middle of the afternoon on a day they were supposedly open. As an interior designer, my livelihood depends on finding unique accessories for my clients and this place was a good source. It is at least a half hour drive from my house and because of past wasted trips, I tried calling first, only to get a recording stating their hours. Since the shop is small, I figured they didn't have extra people around to man the phones if the person working was busy so I took the chance once again and made the drive...and once again, the place was locked up with a closed sign on the door. I'm amazed that there are no other reviews with this complaint! Hard to believe they just decide to stay home on the days I show up. Maybe it's time to check my deodorant!!!!

I like that they have so much stuff, but it is really OVER priced on select items. I know that is more upscale and that they aren't your normal vintage shop on the street but really?

My favorite shop on Antique Row! I LOVE them here! They always have a ton of interesting, one if a kind merchandise and the atmosphere of the shop is so fun and eclectic. The best part has to be the wonderful shop owners Kate and Angie, whom I love! I recommend this place to anyone and everyone. Seriously stellar!!!
