      I was without insurance for a year because I did not own a car. The General was the only insurance that didn't hold it against me. On top of that in 2022 a lady threw a deer into me and AGAIN The General didn't hold that against me either by charging double. EVERYONE else did.

      Trash insurance. I relocated from CA to TN in December of 22', I updated my address and policy to meet TN. There was a letter sent to my previous address in CA in September of 23'. I didn't know about it. I received a letter from collections regarding the amount of $161 and my credit was docked 70 points. They sent the letter to the wrong address. I just spoke with a supervisor who stated it was my fault for not updating it with them even though I updated my policy to meet TN when I moved. I would rate lower if I could. I paid their $161 as soon as I received word about collections after my credit was hit. I would go with someone else for insurance needs

      The General insurance simply allows you to drive your vehicle on the road. It's not great. It's not the worst. It's a way to take a risk that you will not be involved in a car accident and still be able to afford coverage required by law. Instead of me paying $3400 to cover three vehicles I now pay $1500 with one car with full coverage and the other two have liability only.

      Y'all should know this company finds loopholes to not cover claims. On June 23rd a car owned by their insured (and the owner was the passenger) totaled my car and broke my neck. Because the driver was not listed on the declarations page, they don't cover it. Read the fine print people. Because I was smart enough to get uninsured/underinsured motorists they fell back on that. They say they have excellent customer service but it's a lie. They don't cover you or the people their insured hit. Stay away. And Shaquille O' Neal I would think you would not want to be associated with them, everyone says you are a good person. This company is why people hate insurance.

      im not insured with the general I have a claim with someone who does my accident was feb 5 2024 im still waiting to hear back Jennifer in the Albany area I left her messages first she said she got it when I asked why didn't she call me back she said she didn't get them it wasn't until I kept calling that they assigned someone to look at my car. that was Friday it's Thursday going on Friday again still no Estimate.it's obvious they doing Work from home and a new system needs to be put in place for integrity me calling some 5 times to get an answer isnt acceptable and wouldn't be happening in a office with a supervisor over your shoulder.

      Simple to use online and rates are fairly within norm compared to others.
      Was a little uncertain at first but with the rate quoted couldn't pass it up

      The worst company around. I was quoted one thing and charged 4X that price. It has taken them almost 2 months to correct. July 10 -Sept 6 . Every time I call im on hold at least 30 minutes and have to start from scratch with them. Each manager(3) says its a 6 step process to re write and say 6 more days. I have letters that say 8 days from a month ago. Ive gotten 4 wrong bills that dont have the correct cars. They do not reply to emails or return calls nor do they answer direct extensions. Im going to end up going to a different company. I would suggest checking your bank statement if on auto pay

      Despite requesting my policy to be cancelled twice effective April 4, 2023, The General took additional money out of my bank account in May 2023 so I turned off auto-pay. They then sent me a bill in the mail for additional money the next month to which I returned with a note to cancel this policy AGAIN for the THIRD time, and that they owed me for April and May 2023. Today, Oct 2023, I received a collection notice. The General owes me money, and someone there is not doing their job!
