This should be a 3.5 star rating.

We sat at the counter/bar area and it was empty except for 2 other people at the end. The restaurant itself was full and there were people waiting outside for tables. There was a man who sat at the counter after us yet the waitress asked him what he wanted to drink before us. Not too big of a deal since she came to us right after. I ordered the blackened fish taco (which was HUGE and was actually a wrap) and the french fries. My husband had the fried shrimp club wrap with fries, also huge.

The single man who sat after us not only got his food before us, but so much before us that he was finished eating by the time our food came. The waitress also asked if he wanted another glass of wine when he had more in his glass than I did.

My wrap was absolutely delicious, the fish actually went from one end of the wrap to the other. Not how a lot of places you get just tortilla at the bottom. I regret that as soon as it came I took half of my wrap and offered my hubby to switch halves so we each got a different half. His was not so good. In the half that I had there were 3 fried shrimp, the did use real bacon and not bacon bits but assuming that his half had the same number of shrimp you did not get shrimp with each bite like you did mine. Their fries were the big steak type fries, but a lot of food, doubt you could finish it all.

Its a maybe if I would go back with so many intracoastal and waterfront restaurants in that area. My wrap was $14.95 and I think the glass of wine was $10 for house, thats a little pricey for a lunch that is crowded and slow service with no water views. With both of our food and tip it was a $70 lunch.

I took my boyfriend here for his birthday and it was incredible! The drinks were delicious and strong. The food was fresh and also delicious and we enjoyed the menu variety. The atmosphere was friendly, all of the workers were very nice. We had a little bit of a wait, but it was worth it and only about 30 minutes. We enjoyed the music, but if you are sensitive to loud noises, definitely try and sit outside or away from it. Other than that, I definitely recommend this place for a special occasion or just any time!

Omg the food is SO good here! Everything tastes fresh and house made. Their sauces are so flavorful.
I had the sweet potato crusted yellowtail snapper. It was a thin layer of just shredded sweet potato coating the fish, fried with a slight crisp. No filler and not a batter. You could really taste the sweet potato and it complimented the mild white fish nicely. The salad below had a white dressing on it, again very flavorful but no fruit as was promised on the menu.
      Definitely would return.

Get ready for a seafood extravaganza! Food Shack is a Jupiter staple and a local favorite for so many years, and it's easy to see why. This place is small and is located in an unassuming strip mall, but man is it cool!

My favorite thing about this place, hands down, is their daily menu. It's hand written daily, and includes special appetizers, main plates, and the many fresh fish options of the day. Normally, many seafood places have up to four fresh catches of the day at a maximum... but this place has so many selections that it's impressive! They're mostly known for their sweet potato crusted fish (you pick the fish!), which is hashbrown style cut sweet potatoes seared to perfection on one side of the fish. It's usually served with a cool take on a salad, incorporating melon pieces with avocado and arugula.. very unique and yummy dish we've enjoyed for many years!
Their tuna basil roll is great- flash fried, eggroll wrapped ahi tuna served rare with a delicious side salad and wasabi aioli for dipping makes it a perfect appetizer! And let's not forget a very unique and DELICIOUS take on french onion soup... their version is heaven on earth!

They do offer beer, wine, and within the last few years have added a full bar complete with craft cocktails. Their cocktails are just "ok" sadly and for $16 a pop at this homey little fish place, it's hard to see the value.

They have tables inside and out, and a very cool open kitchen bar seating section- which we love to sit at and watch the cooks in action!

Dinner with a friend on a Tuesday night. We arrived at 7pm and were seated immediately, outside as requested. We choose outside because inside was very noisy and we wanted to be able to talk and hear each other.
Our server, Corbin, was friendly. We each ordered a Ketel One Dirty Martini. They're served in the fancy little martini glasses (and not full to the top), not the usual style martini glass, therefore, less martini! For our appetizer we shared the mussels on the daily specials and they were delicious. For our dinners we chose the Yellowtail Snapper, each with a different preparation: One with the Rutabaga/Arugula/Parmesan that was served on a bed of caesar salad, and one with Golden Beet/Coconut/Jerk served on greens with watermelon, pear with a papaya/ginger dressing. The portion of the fish was larger than I expected and was also very fresh.
All in all, we were very pleased with our food. I was a bit shocked when I received the bill and the martinis were $33 for 2 ($16.50 ea), when I can go most places and get the same martini (even larger) for $12-$13. I don't understand why some restaurants command this higher cost for the same drink.

Tried this spot out for the first time and it did not disappoint!! I ordered the tuna plate and it was delicious. Cooked exactly the way I wanted. It's in a strip mall, so takeout was easier for this meal. Will definitely be going back the next time I'm in Jupiter. Everyone inside was friendly, and the service was good!!

This place was amazing. We had been told about it several times, but we live south so we have never been here., But will be back again.

It's packed to the gills and you have to wait for a table. No reservations, and it's very loud when you are seated, but the air is full of anticipation.

We had a great server,, who told us about things and described the food to us perfectly, talked us into buying a couple of very delicious dishes and a bottle of wine
I had the plate of the night with tempura fried wahoo and grilled Seabass cheeks. It was served on polenta with a wild gathering of fruit strewn all over the top of it that just seem to light up your mouth. Every bite was delicious.
Everybody ordered something different and we all enjoyed it tremendously. For dessert we had the flourless chocolate cake with two kinds of ice cream.
If you come here, bring an appetite because everything they serve is large, and save room for dessert. It's delicious.

The food is so fresh & tasty! Would never expect it for being located in a shopping center. Highly recommend getting the sweet potato crusted grouper

Love this place so much we go back several times during the visit to Jupiter. Great food, great service. The menu has a lot of specials every night and the food comes out quickly even when they are packed, which is most nights.

      Original take on seafood!

I can't imagine what it takes to serve all these dishes, so perfectly with the amount of people that are here, but they did it!!

First the oysters and the seabass cheeks were so FRESH.

The wings we asked for well done and they were perfect crispy on the outside and moist on the inside.

Hubby loved the 80s music vibe.

The waitstaff asked EVERY time in less than a minute we received something of it was good.

Such a beautiful surprise to just get it all right.

Any time I pass by this restaurant in Jupiter in or out my way to FL- my stop is a must there!!!

I visit this place since 2008 and it never disappoints.
Very rustic and casual place, gets crowded and busy very fast upon the opening. People in the restaurant are usually very helpful and friendly.
My all time favorite is sweet potato crusted fish of the day ( whatever is the best fish for the day - I order) on the bed of green salad (generous portion) . This dish is delicious and fills me up for lunch!
They have huge menu and you definitely will find what you like- shrimp, fish....everything is delicious!
Please leave some space for dessert- whatever they offer will make your sweet tooth happy! I love their key lime pie and banana pudding! Yammy!
The soups are great too .
I definitely recommend this place and will continue to be their patron!!!
Thanks to everyone in this restaurant for hard work and providing great meals! The best fish place!
