I have suffered with negative body issues my whole life. Growing up as an overweight kid has developed some deep seeded emotional detachment towards my reflection in the mirror. Well, I am going to tell you my secret to what has finally helped me overcome those negative feelings. I started taking belly dance classes at the Dancing Spirit studio in Tiverton. I know what you may be thinking. I can't do that because I'm too "this" or I'm too "that". I thought the same thing until I got the pleasure of not only watching myself transform and embrace my own inner goddess, but others as well. People young and old, from different walks of life. Women with no curves, or people with a little more around the middle to love than they would like. Every one dancing, moving thier different bodies in unison in the most sensual but not too provocative of ways. Every one watching and focused on the movements in the dancing spirit mirror. Everyone looking beautiful. From the bare toes that glide softly across the magic carpet to the the way your fingertips draw invisible works of art into the air around you. No matter what you don't like about yourself, this dance will make you focus on even the littlest things you do like about yourself. This is the secret to embracing your inner goddess. Everyone is bound to find at least one thing about themselves that looks beautiful and this is where you win the battle of the mirror. You have now started replacing the bad and evil feelings with good ones. I have faith in you, and I believe you can win your own inner battle between good and evil. Good always triumphs.
